(For Colette and Spiro's SHOPPING ADVENTURE WOOHOO.)
The halfbreed was waiting by the front door, staring out down the stairs and towards the giant trees marking the beginning of their yard. Everyone else had gone off somewhere, so it was just him and Colette at home. And Arafel needed some stuff from the store. It was always better for little kids like them to travel in pairs if they were going out in public- it was common parent knowledge. And you also have to make sure they're careful crossing streets and never leave eachother ever. Or else someone could get kidnapped or lost or hit by a car. Or in these two clumbsy kids' cases, fall in a pothole or something.
He paused in his staring contest with the foliage, glancing now down at the list he was holding.. Ho hum. He was waiting for Colette now so they could go and pick up the stuff. He began to idly rock back and forth on his heels. He was clad in a baggy black hooded and sleeveless shirt, along with a black pair of jeans that were tattered at the knees. And of course his combat boots.. Not to mention the many bandages covering over his elbows and knees, and the two on his face.

A loud thud, and light oops! Was heard not too far behind the boy. Some change spilling out infrot of spiro with clinks and clanks. Apologies soon following.
"Sorry! Aa! S-Sorry!" she squeaked, flailing foreward to try and gather the money she had been carrying. Fretting suddenlly that someone might get mad at her for spilling the precious money.Twasn't even hers! Aa how horrible.

The halfbreed practically jumped out of his skin at the sudden noise behind him, although he didn't show it all too much. He turned quickly to look down at Colette, his heart pounding from the sudden commotion- and then he was kneeling down, helping pick up some of the change, "It's okay. Don't worry about it..." He paused before giving a shrug, "I fall too." As shown by his bandaid-covered body. He stood after getting all he could, offering a hand to help her up. He was getting better with physical contact. Oh, and manners. Can't forget those. "Here."

The chosen girl's eyes widened when he stopped to help her. "So-Sorry!" she choked on the words, clasping the money she had gathered to her chest. She blinked once or twice at his hand, giving a small smile that quickly grew as she took it and moved to her feet. "Thankyou..." her head hung a bit "I'm sorry... That I'm so much trouble." her smile remained, though her expersion seemd to waver a moment. But suprisingly she managed to hide it fairly well with a bright happy look. Well... atleast hidden to most.

The boy hesitated, looking towards her thoughtfully... Her expression didn't seem right.. He shrugged, holding out the money he picked up to her now, "It's okay, you're not any trouble... You're my friend, right?" His friends were never any trouble to him, of course. Friends were good. He used his free hand to itch at one of his bandaids idly, shrugging again. "Ready to go?" He looked back out towards the door thoughtfully, tail beginning to sway idly behind him. Alexei was curled up in his hood, napping fitfully. Of course, he never went anywhere except school without Alexei.

Her expression changed, almost startled looking before she leaned foreward in enthusiasm "Ofcourse! Ofcourse!!" her old bright beaming expression was back "You're my best friend!" Ofcourse every one of her friends were her "best friend." What else could they be? Her moderate friend?
Oh well. Logic could come later. Now she had to stuff her money into her pocket, taking a step foreward. knowing she was his friend made her happy... that she wasn't a trouble. It was nice. "Let's go!" she giggled a bit, nearly bouncing with excitment at being trusted to go this far by themselves.

Spiro was quiet for a moment before a smile eased itself across his face- he was more at ease around Avery and Colette than anyone else... Which still wasn't all too much, but he smiled openly. Sometimes. "Yeah... Best friend.." It was strange enough already for him to have 'friends', but 'best friends'? Wow. He really was coming along, wasn't he?
He turned and nodded, grabbing his black earflap hat off the table near the door and pulling it on before starting out, "Alright, let's go then." His expression was back to its neutral self- although he was really relieved to find that his friend hadn't forgotten about him. Maybe he just worried too much. Ah well. He began making his VERY VERY CAREFUL way down the stairs. Stupid stairs and him had bad history.

Colette's smile widened, if possible, as she practically ran down the steps in excitment. She had an equal amount of pain with stairs... but she, however, did not learn from her mistakes.
luckally, she only tripped, flailing a bit before landing safely on her feet at the bottum. She gave a light "phew!" before stopping to wait for spiro and follow him the rest of the way.

Spiro suddenly felt as if he needed to keep up as she hurried ahead of him on the stairs, and soon he forgot being careful and was rushing down behind her. His foot caught the lace of his combat boot going down, and he fell at the second to last step and skidded down to his knees. He pushed himself up quickly, ignoring the little sting of pain and brushing himself off before straightening. He was okay, he'd taken worse falls. So he kept quiet.
He began walking towards the sidewalk now, across the grass and underneath the gigantic trees. Their house seemed somewhat out of place around here... It was big, and the trees were unusually large and old... Oh well. Not like he cared. He straightened after reaching the pavement, waiting for Colette. Time to cross the street. He watched the occasional car whiz by.

Colette, for once, didn't notice. Ofcourse she did miss alot of things. She did turn around as he was standing up, giving a blink and a smile assuming he was fine since he didn't appear like he had fallen or been hurt.
Following him out of their little forest of a home the girl had her hands in her pocket, idley flumbling over the money. She stopped beside him, removing her hand from her pocket to hold her hand out. With anyone else she might have just taken their hand, but with spiro she simply held her hand out with a smile for him to take when he felt like it.

The boy hesitated only a moment, another one of his recent shows of getting better with all of this, and then he took the girl's hand and peered up and down the street expectantly. Hm... No cars.. He took a step forward, but at the last minute a car came speeding down the road, whizzing about a foot infront of the two without even slowing. Spiro's heart stopped for a moment, and his hand suddenly felt cold, fingers tightening slightly. His expression was the same though. No shock or surprise. Never changing.
"Let's run." He'd run across this street so many times when walking to school it wasn't even funny. The cars moved too fast, and the road moved at such a way that they could just seem to pop out of nowhere. Walking was a crazy idea to him. So he loosened his grip on her hand in case she didn't want to, and wanted to let go or something... And then he ran. Full speed. He stumbled a but when reaching the other side, tripping over his own feet slightly.

The girl gave a startled yelp at the sudden whiz. Gulping a bit she glanced left, then right then bolted along with him. Keeping a hold on his hand, but not too tight, just incase she tripped she wouldn't pull him down to be killed.
Interesting thoughts for her age but oh well.
Luckally, the two made it to the otherside unharmed. She stood straight, almost posing triumphantly. "We did it!" she exclaimed, as if it had saved the world.

The halfbreed smiled some, feeling a little pride himself as a response to Colette's. Of course, his wasn't as easily recognisable... But it was there. It was kind of obvious compared to his usual look of neutrality. Pride. Mostly because he'd done it more than once- if someone was excited about this once... Well... He shook that off. It was a stupid thought to him. A lot of feelings he didn't understand were. "Yeah." The smile stayed for awhile, though. He could keep that.
He lifted the list once again now, releasing the girl's hand to do so, "Let's see... So we should head to the grocery store..?" He hadn't gone on many shopping adventures before, but that's where everyone else always went when sent out on one. "Or..." Where else could they go?

Colette smiled even more when he did. A natural responce for her. After all... when someone smiled, you smiled back. And since she was allways smiling the only thing she could do was make a bigger smile.
"Um..." she blinked, giving a thoughtful look. "Mom said.. across the street, then.. left... and.. down the road to the light... Watch out for puddles because they have them around there. and.. then.." the girl strained to remember the instructions. Arafel had jumped in a whole bunch of worried warnign though. It had managed to confuse the girl significantly. Ofcourse they had a map too, and all sorts of other things Arafel had tried to pack on them.

Don't tell anyone, but Spiro had left a good deal of the stuff Arafel had shoved onto him back at home... Not on purpose, of course. He had just taken it out to have a look and... Accidentally left it there. So they were going out only with whatever Colette was carrying. "Okay..."
He lowered the list, peering over it at the girl thoughtfully as she explainedt he instructions while trying to get a picture of it in his mind. "Hum..." He paused, "Let's go there, and then we can figure out where to get from there... Okay?" He then tucked away the list, hesitated, and then went back for her hand. Freize had told him that when walking with another kid out in public you should never get seperated and should always hold hands. So he did. (My parents actually taught me that. XD *shrugs*) "Will that work?" He prepared to head off.
