A month after that hospital episode, Erol was finally healed enough to get back on the beat. His body was responding much better now and he felt more alive the usual. It was great!
As a result he had canceled all his gigs for the next few weeks and even decided to take a much needed night on the town. However, he didn't feel much like going at it alone and considering his band was busy with their own personal projects he had only one other person to invite. It wasn't everyday that they got a chance to spend with each other and even though they still had yet to claim otherwise, Erol still viewed Raleigh as a rival to some extent. But for tonight he would consider the other his friend... or maybe just a close aquaintence. Ah well old habits died hard. Even as he road he's newly purchased bike through the streets he couldn't help feeling oddly out of place.
Was he going to pick up Ra? Didn't that imply that this was a date? And why the hell did he even agree to take his bike and insisted the other Evo just ride with him? With a heavy sigh he pulled up to where the other was staying. Usually when in the same town they were stationed nearby in case of any uninvited guests. Both boys had remained close to HQ during their healing process just for that reason. With a hefty sigh, he dialed Ra's cell glaring daggers at the door. "Hey I'm downstairs. Hurry up..." He muttered clicking off the phone. Well at least old habits died hard. Even as he leaned against his bike he felt an odd apprehension for this night.

The hospital incident had laid Raleigh flat for two weeks, even his stubborn nature not enough to get him on his feet sooner than that. The week after had been more recovery time, and now he finally felt well enough to get back into the swing of things. But he never would have thought that meant going out somewhere with Erol. For Ra, the swing of things usually meant training, more training and the occasional fight. And he was, quite honestly, quite sick of that; which was why he had agreed to go out with his rival/friend and also why he also agreed into riding on Erol’s motorbike. Oh well, it would distract him from remembering the joy of being poisoned.
The phone rang on the counter top and after a moment’s hesitation, Ra picked it up. He wasn’t given any time to respond, was simply given a barked order before the phone clicked off. Idiot. Rolling his eyes Raleigh tucked the phone away and retrieved a hair tie, which he used to tie his hair up in a high, ponytail. He was not amused when he stopped to check himself in the mirror. As if it even mattered what he looked like. But tonight he had least attempted to look the part. Pulling a black jacket over his orange top, he headed downstairs.
His gaze came to rest on Erol as he stepped outside and then he turned, locking the door behind him. Oh well. He may as well try and enjoy himself. He looked cautiously at the bike. Silly to be nervous about this, when he quite enjoying darting around on Yamaru. But at least he knew that his creation had his best interest in mind. Whereas that this was just a hunk of metal… with Erol at the helm. Alright, he was definitely nervous about this. “Let’s go.”

Tossing a spare helmet to Ra he quickly got on his bike and revved it to life. Waiting for the other to mount he gave it another warning rev before speeding off down the drive. Eventually he slowed to merge with traffic as they got on the express way just driving at a leisure pace. It would be difficult to talk over the roar of the wind. Just thinking about wind made Erol grimmace but he would make the best of this night.
First off a few hot spots he knew about that had a mellow setting. It would be nice to just kick back with a few drinks (despite being under age he still had connections) and some light music. He had not intention of singing tonight either and made sure the management understood this since they were expecting him.
Pulling up he gave a hefty sigh pulling his helmet off and setting it on the seat. Waiting for Ra he went to the front of the jazz club giving the bouncer a quick flash of his card. "Alright go in." The man muttered and let the two in. Once inside there was a soft ambiance of music and lighting, very mellow but not too much to put one to sleep. Shifting past a small crowd of people in the doorway, Erol hurried to the bar waiving the barkeep over. "Hey the usual, upstairs." Erol called to the keep. He smiled and nodded fixing the drinks. "If you want something else I'll get it for ya but these are just wine coolers. Pretty good." He informed Ra as they took the stairs. On the top level was a less crowded scene, reserved for the usual VIP guests. Thankfully Erol was on that list.
Once they were seated, Erol leaned back kicking up his feat as he enjoyed the mellow music. "I usually come here for a little R&R. We can head out a little later, nothing kicks off this early in the evening anyway." That was his explanation and he was sticking to it. Besides all the fun stuff was further downtown and truth be told nothing was poppin off until much later. For now they could just relax and perhaps "try" to enjoy each others company. Thankfully the drinks came and Erol wasted no time with his drink.

Ra caught the helmet, plopped it onto his head and climbed onto the bike behind Erol, wondering, not for the first, why exactly he was bothering. It wasn’t as if he was Mr. Fun-Time. Raleigh knew full well that he was awkward in social setting, usually falling back on an abrasive, arrogant attitude to get him through the night. Small talk was something he found difficult to manage. If it wasn’t important, then you didn’t say it. By the time they reached the club Raleigh was wishing he’d told Erol to ‘stick it’ the first time the guy had called. In preference of being alone? Erol was the closest thing Raleigh had to a friend which, in all reality, was pretty pathetic. Right now his guarded nature had never seems quite so obvious... or quite so sad.
He climbed off the bike, leaving the helmet behind and taking a moment to fix his hair, before following Erol to the door. Thoughts about his lack of friends and a social life were banished. There was no point dwelling upon it now. He was what he was. As long as he did what needed to be done and took care of the few people he did care for, then it didn’t matter that he didn’t have a best buddy or go out to the movies or act like the usual male his age did.
Thoughts clear Raleigh refocused on what was actually happening, his gaze drifting around the club with mild interest. It wasn’t a bad place, and the music wasn’t loud enough to make his ears bleed. As they sat down Ra had to admit that the place was actually somewhat relaxing. He watched Erol get stuck into the drink, his own glass untouched. Alcohol didn’t sit well with him, so he was going to take it easy. Nobody wanted to see a drunken Raleigh. It wasn’t a pretty sight. Sitting back he cast a casual look around and then back to Erol. Ah yes, there was that small talk problem again.

Erol figured it was a bust to invite Ra out. The fact that the other had no practice in the small talk category made things a little uncomfortable... well at least not for him. He could talk to anyone in the club and be just as at home here as any other place. However, he had invited Ra for a reason and he wasn't about to let the other get off so easy. With a light smirk he sipped at his drink watching Ra intently for a moment. "You might as well try to make the best of it. I'm not taking you home until much later so kick back, drink up and enjoy yourself." Erol drawled smiling wickedly to himself.
So maybe he had invited him for other reasons then to torment the guy but if he was going to make it this enjoyable then fine. Torment it was. He'd push all his buttons tonight until he finally gave in and let loose. Besides when had he ever seen Ra smile so genuinely and have fun but around his little sister? Suddenly, Ra had given Erol an agenda and with that, the night had only just begun.
Sliding the untouched wine cooler to Ra he gave the other a glare. "Drink it." He ordered not caring what excuse the other had for not drinking. He wouldn't let him get off that easily. "At least drink this for now and I won't bug you for a while about drinks." ... well maybe.

Raleigh’s eyes narrowed and his back stiffened ever so slightly. Ah, so this was how to was going to go down. He should have seen it coming. They’d never been able to really get out of the rivalry mindset, always falling back on taunts and contests whenever they couldn’t think of anything else. Ra relaxed back again; reading the challenge in Erol’s gaze. s**t. Maybe if he was lucky he could get out of this without making too big a fool of himself.
Leaning forward, Raleigh wrapped his fingers around the wine cooler. “Only for you Erol.” He said dryly, as he lifted the drink up and took a sip. He paused a moment, decided he didn’t mind the taste and then finished it off in a few gulps. “Done. Don’t bug me again, or I might throw a chair at your head.”
He eyed Erol thoughtfully. May as well have a little fun while he was here. Ra rested his elbow on the table, and laced his fingers under his chin, eyes filled with a familiar arrogant little glint. “So tell me, what’s a guy like you doing in a place like this?” Inane, ridiculous… but at least he found it amusing.

Erol watched the other intently making sure he did what was expected. Satisfied that Ra had taken a drink of the cooler he set back in his seat lazily sipping at his own drink. For now he wouldn't bother the other about drinks but that was only the beginning... for now anyway.
A slow cocky grin came to his lips as Ra tried his part at some conversation through a tasteless form of banter. He rolled his eyes then leaned forward mimicking his companion's stance as he breathed out, "What do ya mean by guy like me? What kind of guy am I?" Though this probably wasn't the line of banter they were used to it was fun for Erol at least. He'd see how far the other was willing to travel before he'd back down. He leaned back sipping at his cooler, "Besides a guy like me is well known in these parts. Why else wouldn't I be here?"

Raleigh felt the wine cooler settle in his gut. Oh darn, he shouldn’t have gulped that down so quickly. He should have remembered that the last time he’d had a drink was a glass of wine with lunch about two months ago. Thus his tolerance level was less than adequate for a night out. No matter, he’d be more careful.
Ra arched one eyebrow in amusement. Of course Erol would play the game. But now he to come up with something else. “Hm, well known around here are you? For your adorable face perhaps.” He also leaned back, crossing his arms over his chest. “A guy like you looks like he shoul be at home playing guitar hero.”

Erol held back the cackle in his throat. Was Ra serious? He lacked seriously in this game but it was still fun to play. "My face is damn good lookin' why waste it on some game that has nothing on the real thing?" He gloated, looking out over the club before resting soft brown eyes on his friend. "But I suppose my face isn't the only adorable one here tonight." He said this turning his gaze elsewhere but then locked his gaze on Raleigh once more. "So what do you often do with your time? You're not much for social functions so you must have other hobbies..." Arches a brow.

Raleigh just needed a little time to warm up into the battle of words. After all, he didn’t do it very often. If he tried it with Ruri, she beat him down in a second and you couldn’t exactly try out-do a three year-old in a conversation. Ai always won.
“My my, aren’t you the modest one?” He gave an amused chuckle before giving a wry smile. “Sure, not the only adorable one. I saw a few people on a table we passed who might fit the bill.” He had flash of memory back to when he was eleven and his slightly overwhelmed guardian telling him ‘you’re cute’. That had been a first.
Quick Raleigh, back to the game. “I… train. I don’t have a fantastic physique for nothing.” He smirked slightly. “When Ai’s around I take care of her. I cook, I read books on animal anatomy and I spend as many mornings on the beach as I can. I don’t have a social life other than you and Ace and I think way too much, thus getting myself in trouble. Boring life right.”

"Modest... hardly." He looked to the group but shrugged turning back to Ra. "I didn't invite them so they don't count." He gave a soft wave of his hand to which a waitress pulled over with a smile. "Two more wine coolers." She smiled and went to place the order. Erol gave a stern gaze for no protests but figured he'd probably do just that, ah well.
Erol then chuckled as he looked over his rival/friend's form. "Yes a fine physique you have..." He offered downing the last of his drink as the waitress came back with another. He quickly went for his drink and started on it. "You're just a regular little house wife. Cooking, cleaning, taking care of the kids and even finding time to work out and keep a nice figure." He chortled softly. "Where's the husband? Or should I put in an application?" Oh god he couldn't believe these things were coming from his lips but it was so funny. Teasing Ra was always top on his list of things to do. No matter that he had more of a social life then the other Evo it was interesting because they often had their own way of dealing with each other. Almost like a private dance... he liked that. He just wouldn't admit it.

Raleigh didn’t look at the group he’d called ‘adorable’. He’d barely seen them at really. “They don’t count? Alright, then instead I’d prefer ruggedly handsome instead of adorable.” He gave a light frown as more drinks were ordered, but figured he didn’t have to drink it when it came. Of course, considering how he’d downed the last one at a simple challenge from Erol he probably couldn’t count on his strength of will.
“I’m the perfect package.” Ra joked, giving an amused grin. “You’d be surprised to know that I don’t have any possible husbands beating down the door to get at me.” It was odd how much he could relax now, in Erol’s presence, talking to each other in a ridiculous manner. He was hardly one for jokes any other time. “Feel free to send in your resume, you might fit the bill. If you can deal with the occasional moodiness and interesting pet collection.”

"Actually I probably wouldn't fit the bill at all. A housewife like you wouldn't be able to handle my social functions. Gigs to play at, people to meet, autographs to sign... yadda yadda." He breathed laughing softly to himself. "I'm on my way up and wouldn't want to burden you with the pretty lights and flashing cameras." He sipped at his drink relaxing against their playful banter.
"Besides I'm a greedy man, I'd probably horde my wife if I ever got one. An contrary to popular belief, not all rock stars give it up to the first cookie that shakes their chocolate chip at me." He looked away scratching his nose. Now why did Ra need to know that? Ah well who cares. "At any rate I don't plan to sit here all night if you've already guessed. This is just to warm you up so I suggest you drink some more or you're not going to have much fun at the next place... I'd prefer my date have a good time." Date? He rolled his eyes drinking down his cooler. It wasn't enough to get them drunk but enough of them would loosen the nervous tension which was what Erol was going for. He didn't want to crash the bike before getting to the next destination. "Well housewife? You got a potential husband knocking at your door, you gonna let him in?"

“Waiting at the door for my famous rock star husband probably wouldn’t be my thing anyway. I’d expect you at home for dinner time and if you couldn’t manage that then…” He gave a dismissive wave of his hand. “You’d spend most of your time at home on the couch.” Heh. He absentmindedly reached up to his ponytail while giving a light shrug of his shoulders. “Maybe chocolate chip isn’t your favorite type of cookie. I make a good white chocolate and peanut.” Oh, this was just getting ridiculous now.
His gaze moved to the drink and he studied it like he would an enemy. To be honest he didn’t want to be standing in the corner with his arms crossed glaring at everyone like usual. Maybe one more wouldn’t hurt. But this one would go down slower. He hooked his hand around it, dragging it closer in preparation of taking a sip. “Good question. Maybe said potential husband will have to prove that he’s worth it by getting over the moat, the crocodiles, the giant gargoyles and anything else I can come up with.”

"Well this rock star is as lazy as sin, just ask his manager. I like to stay home most of the time, I tend to be late for rehearsals and I'm not much of a morning person as it is. And if you can cook that's definitely going to keep me at home where a good husband should be." He nodded with emphasis but wasn't even sure what the hell he was saying anymore. Was he really applying for husband detail? Holy s**t... he grumbled under his breath taking another sip of his drink.
"And I like chocolate chip but it's not the only cookie out there so if you got a preference I'll try it at least once." Wait whut? Another sip of his drink this was getting dangerously silly. And even so he continued answer questions and throwing banter of his own. He'd be lying if he said it wasn't fun at the same time as it was silly. "So you'd throw all that at a potential husband eh? Hmm? I'll get back to you on an answer for that but while I'm getting over moats, crocodiles and giant gargoyles you think the housewife might meet me half way?"
