Little pawprints that were left in the sand behind Kairav were being washed away slowly by the incoming waves. The juvenile was preocupied at the moment with the shell in his mouth. He had gone about, wandering the shoreline looking for anything interesting that the waves were bringing in. He had found quite a bit of seaweed here and there. A shell or two in the mix, but nothing that hadn't caught his attention until now. And now, he was proud of himself, for he had something to bring back to his father as a present. It was just the other day that he found something for his mother, but his father was harder to find a present for because he wanted it to be perfect!

Wacheza wandered the shore, as he had done since he was a cub. He was searching for a new place to sit and think for a little while... He did this almost every day, in a new place, and he would remain there the entire day if given the choice. Because of that, he knew the lands around the pride exceptionally well. As usual, an entorage of very small creatures were ready to congrigate around him... for the large lion never brushed them off, and he was a soft warm place where they could be quite comfortable.
However, on this day he spotted another member of the pride. One of the younger ones... Wacheza would admit, aside from his family he did not know the other members of his pride well, for he was not very social. Friendly, kind, but just not specially social.
Still... it was always nice to see a cub out and about. Though... for the life of him, he could not remember the cub's name... "Hello there..." Still no name... But he said hello anyway.

His eyes lit up as Kairav spotted another member not too far from him. His head bent forward as he placed the shell on the ground and greeted the older male. "Hi!" With a friendly smile, he introduced himself because that's what his parents told him he should do when he meets others of the pride. "I'm Kairav! It's nice to meet you! Do you live here too?" He could now tell his parents and siblings that he met many more members of the pride.

"I do," Wacheza nodded to the cub, "And I've seen you before, wandering the shore... I'm Wacheza." He said, glad that the cub -Kairav! how could he have forgotten? - was in good spirits. He was always happiest when others were in a good mood, "What have you been doing...? Searching for shells?" He asked, tilting his head when he saw the treaure that the cub had found.

His ears perked up as Wacheza spoke of seeing him wandering the shore. Was the other lion shy? Kairav was curious, but didn't ask at the moment. "Nice to meet you, Wacheza!" He flicked his tail back and forth happily before he heard the other's question.
His head nodded slightly in confirmation to the question, "I was looking around for anything pretty. I found this shell not too far from here and wanted to see if I could find anything else. My mom likes the shells and I thought she might like this one!"

Wacheza smiled a little, thinking the little cub was quite sweet. He certainly did seem to be quite friendly, "It's very nice to meet you as well, Kairav."
He glanced around, nodding, "Ah... do you need any help bringing the present back to the shore? I would hate for it to get lost in the waves, especially if it's a gift for your mother..."
A gift... he had brought his mother many while he was growing up. Hearing it now, he wondered if he should find her another one... perhaps he would find her a butterfly. She would likely love one... the simple things in life were always the ones she loved the most.

At Wacheza's question, Kairav nodded his head. Help was eagerly taken, he wasn't one to turn it away. Plus, he would be very sad if any of the shells were washed away, because that meant he'd have to go and find new ones. "Really? Thanks!" He nudged two of the shells, "If you can take these, I'll take the other two."
With a happy smile, he went to pick up his shells before glancing back at Wacheza, to make sure he would follow.

Ilori smiled and did as he was told, leaning down and picking up the shellss carefully so that he wouldn't break them. The last thing he wanted to do was accidentally break one, because clearly the cub had put a lot of effort into finding them.
He quickly followed Kairav, smiling and nodding, "All set."

Once Wacheza was all set, Kairav walked away from where they were towards a place further in from the shoreline. Far enough away so that the tide wouldn't wash away his shells. Plus, he was certain that he could find a big enough leaf to place on the shells on to bring them back to his mother.
It didn't take him too long before he found the perfect spot. He gently placed the shells down on the ground before looking back at Wacheza, "Thank you so much for your help!" He asked curiously, "Have you lived here all your life? Do you play in the waves too?"

Wacheza smiled, carefully setting down his shells beside the cubs before he nodded, "Yes, I've been here ever since I was born. My brothers and sisters all grew up here as well." Though three of them had already left home. Wacheza seemed to be one of the few in his family who never intended to go anywhere.
"When I was little, I used to play in the waves all the time." He said, looking back out at the sea fondly, "I do it sometimes now too..." Thought often it seemed to be by accident, when he would get distracted and wind up nearly getting washed away by the waves. "Do you like playing in the waves to?" Safe to assume, since Kairav has been doing just that to get his shells.

Ears were perked forward as Kairav listened to the older male's words. He took them in eagerly as his tail flicked slightly from side to side. At least he wasn't the only one! He looked up, "I love to play in the waves! Some of my siblings don't like to play in it as much as me. But it's fun," He paused briefly, "And building stuff in the sand. My brother and I build stuff all the time. But when the waves start rolling onto the beach, it gets washed away and then we'll have to start over!"

Wacheza smiled and nodded, "I'm glad you enjoy it... I've..." Well now, he had never tried to build anything in the sand. That concept was a little forgien to him... something he had never even considered. But wouldn't that be something? He couldn't help but smile, "That sounds like fun... You could always make yourself something new."

He nodded, "Oh yes! And if the sand feels like cooperating with me, I can make something really cool!" Kairav loved playing in the sand and the waves. It was something fun to do and kept him occupied. "
It wasn't until he glanced up at the sky and noticed how far the sun had moved across it. He should be heading back home shortly. He looked back at Wacheza, "I think I should be heading back home, I don't want to make my mom worry about me." He smiled happily, "Thank you so much for your help!" It would be easy for him now, to drag the shells back to his family's den without having to worry about them slipping away in the tide. "I hope we can see each other again soon!" He nodded earnestly, enjoying the time he had spent with Wacheza as he took a glance at the male before getting ready to head on home.

Wacheza nodded and smiled kindly, "Perhaps next time, you can teach me how to make things in the sand. I'd like to learn." It did sound like it would be interesting... perhaps he could show Akai when she came back...
"Have a safe trip home... try not to break the shells." He told his new, small, friend before waving him away, "I'm sure your mother will love them." And he was sure she would... but for him, it was still early. Things to do... "I'll see you around."
