Ruarc jogged lightly to the where he had spoken to Avalina earlier that day. They had decided to meet later, but had not specified where. Thus, Ruarc travelled to where he had seen her last, and hoped that she had a similar thought.
It felt odd being away from Rordan, whom he had hardly ever left during his life. He knew he was second-in-command, so to speak, to his beige friend, but he was fine with that.
He settled down in the grass near a large stump, a good land mark if he ever saw one. Meet by the tree trunk, why hadn't he thought to say that? Ah well, he would remember to next time. He waited, and looked into the sky, speckled with white stars, shining down.

 Avalina arrived at the meeting feild and looked around, she spotted Ruarc, sitting by ta large stump, that had ben there for as long as she could remember, she trotted over to him, "Hi Ruarc, Thank you for coming." She said happily, "Was it hard to get away from Rordan?"
She asked this because Cathaoir had been a pain when she was leaving the cave, he was asking what they were planning to do, would he become a uncle soon and other stupid questions like that.

"I... well... admittedly no, it wasn't," admitted Ruarc. It was painful for him, Rordan didn't seem to even notice Ruarc leave... "But he was distracted, Cyric's shown up with another green bundle of joy; they look so similar to him that I'm starting to wonder if they're really his." The incredulous look on Ruarc's face split into a wide grin, and then he chuckled.
"I guess Cyric is more of a family man than I had expected. I'm starting to regret choosing the same cave to live in." He paused, then stated, "It's nice weather for a stroll."
It always was.
"Would you like to walk?"

Avalina smiled back, Ruarc looked good when he smiled."So this is the second one he's brought, right?" I don't think it was possible for Orna to be his but this one might be... He would of told you if he got a life time mate, wouldn't he?" Avalina replied. "Well we aren't here to talk about the mysterious kits that Cyric keeps finding. Pausing for a moment she continues "You're right about the weather. Would you like to walk along the beach or here in the plains? I'm fine with ethier."

"I haven't been been to the beach for a long time--I miss the water," he said, and started West. The island wasn't that big, they'd be there in minutes. "Yeah, number two... It wouldn't be like Cyric to have a life mate though, I don't think. I'm sure he just finds them, it's just, they're so... green." He stopped talking abruptly, but then continued, "I know it's odd to think about about, but if they're not his, then who keeps abandoning children in the forest; I would never do that." He sighed deeply, and turned to the fem. He had never noticed her colorless eyes before but now it seemed to be her dominating feature.
He realized he was staring and looked quickly at the ground. "You have very small teeth," he said casually, his own fangs occupied, smirking at the ground.

Avalina quickly caught up to Ruarc, before replying, "I have no possible clue to who they belong to, Cyric is the only green Saigh I know of. I'm sure we'll find the mom sometime." When she realized she was staring at her, she got as close to blushing as a Saigh could,"Uh.. thanks I didn't always have small teeth... I redid my look, the trees on the edge of the firest are good for shortening teeth. I like your fangs, too. Speaking of which I think Cathaoir wants to use his to rip you apart. He's not very happy about this..."

"It's not against any rules to take a walk," Ruarc assured the blue girl. "Got your look redone? I was unaware there was a salon around here." He ran his tongue over his fangs and glanced around the landscape, as if to protect them from any potential danger. He felt guilty now, or rather, he didn't know how he felt, and that was what was making feel guilty. He had never seen Avalina in a romantic way before, and he wasn't sure he did now. But she was just so nice that he couldn't help but want to be around her. Whether he wanted to be just friends with her or more remained to be seen.
"I didn't think anyone would want to get rid of their teeth," he teased, "How are you going to hunt, or defend yourself if you need to--I suppose you got your claws trimmed, too." He glanced down at her feet, not really looking, happy just to have met someone new that he can talk to freely.

"I know it's not against the rules to go for a walk with another Saigh, Cathaoir is a butthead at times." Avalina blinked, before adding, "Yes a shorten my claws on the trees to keep them from hurting my pads on the way out, I really have no reason to hunt or defend myself, Sulis and Cathaoir hunt for those in our cave and there isn't anything on this island that I have to defend myself from, but if I did have to, my teeth and claws would work fine." Avalina smiled, Ruarc was so kind, how could anyone not want to be around him?

Ruarc scowled at the use of the word "butthead" but made no comment. He didn't want to hurt the girl's feelings, but he was starting to bend under the uncomfortable pressure. They had reached the beach, and he realized then just how romantic the setting was. He needed a way out, but he couldn't find one without revealing his true feelings.
"Look," he said, a sad smile burdened his lips, "Tonight has been delightful, but my feet are already hurting; I should head back to the den." He looked her steadily in the eyes and waited for her answer.

Avalina sighed sadly looking at her paws she said quietly"We just got to the beach..." She paused for a minute, before looking up hopfully. "Maybe we could hang out some other time, not just the two of us, it is up to you." pausing for a moment before going on, "You may tell Rordan, what I'm about to say, even though I know He'll make fun of me... I want you to know that I really, really like you." Her pale eyes glowing, with love, and hope.

"I..." Ruarc started, but couldn't seem to finish. He took a deep breath and swallowed, and then started again. "We should hang out again some time; however brief, this walk was enjoyable." He smiled at her, but it faded when he met her eyes. "Thank you." And then he began the walk home.
