Who: Aiko, Talagand, & their kits What: A family outing Where: a lake in the woods. Somewhere. When: While Liliana is still carrying her second litter. Why: because I’ve been supposed to set up a family rp since the seraphim were born and it just never happened. *headdesks* Better late than never… ^_^ As far as Talagand was concerned, this was a perfect day. Then again any day could be perfect when viewed in the right light. Today’s light was bright and clear but not blinding. Though it was summer and the days sometimes warmer than he liked it was still comfortable. A bit too hot for an excess of snuggle piles outside in the full heat, but enough that light and more casual closeness could at least not be something one wanted to avoid because of the added heat.
What really made today perfect was that he would be spending it with his family. ALL of them. At once. The Harper grinned at the thought of them: his lovely mate and their four beautiful kits. Sometimes it was too wonderful.
Talagand loved the individual time he had with Aiko his mate and each of their kits, but there was something to be said about full family outings. This was going to be one of those. He could not set it up on his own without giving it away so had asked one of the wizards to give a hand setting things up. Usually he would ask Liliana since being born around the same time they were still very close, but his crimson kithood friend was pregnant again. With a lot of them, by the looks of her poor stretched belly. Between that Lily could hardly move and that with this pregnancy she was not going anywhere after what happened the last time there was no way Talagand would ask anything of her. It was not like there were not others to ask.
Grinning ear to ear the musical seraphim patriarch led the way with uncharacteristic giddiness up a high crag through a light woods that did little to block the light of this beautiful day. His ears flicked nervously as he came to the summit where there was a glade with its deep crystalline pool before them. Shards… he hoped they liked it as much as he did. Flying behind he had been silent, content to take on the beauty of their surroundings while wondering what was up with their dad. Upon their arrival his eyes widened seeing the clandestine location in all its natural splendor. That was not all however. Carefully set up in the shade of a beautiful weeping willow by the banks was a perfect picnic for a little –okay large- seraphim kitsu family, complete with a pastel blanket that perfectly matched the family’s colors. Órelaer could see the Elven runes that were sewn into the blanket with iridescent threads that caught the filtered light playfully and wondered if it was his imagination or not that each of their names where inscribed therein.
That was not all though. In the safety provided by the willow’s trunk were several instruments that almost could not be seen for their nature. Natural instruments they were. Reed panpipes and single pipes, turtle shell lyres & ‘drums’, wooden flutes & harps, handmade drums, gourds with beads woven over them or filled within them, ‘rain’ tubes of bamboo, and a plethora of other handmade instruments of natural things. Órelaer gave an appreciative whistle. “Wow, Dad. You really went all out.”

How long had it been that he had actually had a conversation with his family? There was sinking feeling of guilt in Valdaglerion's stomach, and he had immediately agreed to go to the family outing.
He flew behind the rest silently, trying to resist an urge to hum a tune. He held his tongue and did a loop in the air, the pendant around his neck bouncing on his chest merrily. No, he would not spoil today's outing with any pranks. Just maybe some simple jokes. But not now.
He still felt rather awkward, unsure. No matter how much Axis tried to assuage his fears about his father thinking that his love for music was a joke...he still wouldn't tell anyone; not only Talagand, but his mother and siblings as well.
"Woah..." He murmured softly, mouth falling open and the sight of all the instruments. He longed to zoom forward and touch them, blow them, tap at the drums. But he didn't.

Reina was fluttering after her family, quietly. She hadn't had a lot of chance to spend time with them, and was looking forwards to it... even if she was sure, at some level, they'd be telling her off for not coming looking for them! Still... She was with her family. So she beamed and followed them into the glade... which had her staring in awed amazement. "WOW, Dad... this is great!" She looks around, and notes the musical instruments... She stares, and pinders, then reaches for one of the lyres, her paws brushing the strings. "Ooooooooooooo!"
