Dark clouds covered the sky blocking out the sun that still shone beyond the clouds. The sky poured water on the world down below as though crying for some reason. Solaris sighed, protected by a large sheltering tree. He glanced up at the sky then turned his head back to the wet ground.
Solaris didn't mind water but he hated rainy days, they always ended up being a bore since few lions ventured out. Well who would? Water was great to fish in and to drink but that was it.
The purple lion stretched his cramped wings only for a moment before closing them tightly at his side. Solaris sighed again.

The bright pink lioness was sitting silently beneath a rock overhang, watching the rain fall and nurture the earth around her. The wind would occassianally blow underneath the overhang and cause the two pink hearts at each end of her scarf to jingle when they collided. Lamia hated having nothing to do, she couldn't train on a day like this. With a low growl she decided she might as well venture out and see what happens.
With her white wings that were lined with pink tucked firmly against her body she stepped into the rain, blinking several times when the water hit close to her eyes. She could feel her scarf getting soaked, it was too late to change her mind now, she might as well walk around. A flash of lightning illuminated the area for a few brief seconds, closely followed by a clap of thunder.

Continuing to lay underneath the tree bored. A bright pink colour flashed across the coner of his eye. What was that? he wonded quietly as the rain came pouring down. Solaris turned his head and saw a soaking wet Lioness...
"Hey!" He called rising to his paws "Over here!"
Solaris tried to get her attention "Come this way It's dry!" He continued to call. He wondered what she was doing out in the rain like that.

She hadn't been walking through the rain long before she heard something. It was hard to tell what exactly due to the sound of the rain drowning out all other sounds, the thunder over that even. The pink lioness stopped, her ears pressed flat against her head and her pale eyes squinting in the rain as she looked for the source of the out of place noise.
It was a male lion, a purple one at that. He was calling out to her, it looked like he was trying to get her to join him underneath the tree. Something about it being dry. I am tired of this rain constantly pelting me. Lamia thought as she started to decide whether or not she should join him. She was not a very social lioness, she'd stick around if there were other lions but she hardly ever spoke, and when she did it normally was a sarcastic or blunt remark with little emotion behind it. Might as well. This male may have something interesting to offer.
The white winged lioness headed slowly in his direction, not seeming to be in a hurry to get there. Once she felt that the rain had stopped hitting her nearly completely, except for the occassional drops that fell between the leaves of the tree, she shook herself off, not seeming to care if she got the strange male wet with the spray, the two hearts jingling when they hit each other.

Solaris smiled pleased she decided to join him; he was rather bored and enjoyed the company of others especially such an attractive Lioness. Solaris bowed "I'm glad you decided to come out of the rain," he said in a gentlemanly manor "My Name's Solaris."
The purple lion was able to tell clearly she wasn’t weak, she was strong and fit. When he trained with his old companions long ago too they were like that. He would still treat her properly with mannerism and respect as he did to all unless she wished to be treated differently.
Backing away from getting sprayed wasn’t too effective since there wasn’t much room underneath the tree, but still the branches sheltered the lions from the storm.
“My I ask your name?”

At least he knows to bow before me. The lioness thought, noting his actions and words carefully. She looked him over again, able to see him better now that the falling rain wasn't obstructing her view. He was certainly very different from the lions she'd been raised around by appearance, than again in her family she was the oddball. Her siblings all had orange, white, brown and black fur, along with her Queen and father, and somehow she had turned out...pink. She liked it about as much as her mother did, which was not at all, infact she detested being pink thanks to her Queen's influence. Lamia had to admit that if it were not for the color of her fur she might not be as strong as she was now.
"...Lamia." The pink lioness replied after a moments silence, sitting on the slightly damp earth with her tail laying out to the side. She didn't concentrate on trying to look beautiful, a warrior was what she was and she was determined to keep up that appearance.

"A pleasure to meet you Lamia." he replied with another bow before sitting down a respectable distance away. She had taken a few moments to answer. She mustn’t speak too often, was Solaris's first thought. A shame really she must have many things to talk about.
Although it seemed as though she didn't care for her beauty, she was quite a sight to those who could find the beauty in a finely trained body. Only a foolish lion wouldn't be able to see it. He himself had trained long ago but wasn't in shape near as much as the female before him.
"Warrioress" he said after getting a better look at her "What brings you out in the rain?"

The lioness would have smirked at being called warrioress had she not been determined or trained to not show any emotion. Well, pleasant emotions anyways, but since when did she ever get those? She was always either irritated or bored, with normally a serious expression at all times. Lamia hadn't had much experience with being happy or excited, not in her family anyways. Her father and one or two of her siblings would be observed having a good time with each other, obviously happy, but she'd always felt contempt for them, especially her father. She really was her mother's daughter, no matter how much her mother the Queen hated it.
"Very good for you to notice that I am a warrior." Lamia stated rather dryly, looking him in the eyes. "I see that you too have trained, though it seems as though those days have gone." She couldn't help but be a little snobbish, she learned it from Lore. "I was out in the rain because it was beginning to get cramped beneath the rock overhang. I can't train on a day like this, so I thought I might as well see what happens if I go out into the rain."

"You’re very perceptive as well, Lamia." he said unable to hold back a grin. Not minding her snobbish tone he nodded "Well I can't deny that logic." he said in agreement. Quietly sitting beside her he stared out at the pouring. Solaris had a feeling that she wasn't one to talk so said nothing and continued to watch.
The rain seemed to slow quickly after its pour and the clouds continued to blot out the sun but by now the rain had subsided.

You're damn right you can't deny it. The lioness thought as she turned her attention to the rain as well. It soon began to turn into a drizzle before stopping completely, the clouds remaining and the ground muddy. Mud...it was an inconvenience in her opinion. She didn't mind getting dirty but it was hard to move around in at times, you could slip at any time or kick a rock and stub your toe rather painfully, as she had done once or twice in the past. Not like she'd ever admit it though.
Lamia felt movement in her gut and she knew it was time for her to catch something to eat. The pink lioness was a gifted huntress, but perhaps with the aid of this male they could bring down larger prey? She turned her pale eyes on Solaris. "How skilled a hunter are you?" It almost wasn't a question the way she asked it.

The rain stopped and Solaris stretched his limbs before shaking himself off. Mmmm he was hungry just as soon as he thought it Lamia spoke it well not really in the form of a question. It was more a demand to know how skilled he was.
"I'm very skilled" he replied calmly and indeed he was it was the only skill he continually practiced one of the few skills he refused to let dull.

"Good. Do you know where some of the larger prey are located? I don't know this area." She was just passing through, but as she did she carefully mapped wherever she went on the island incase she ever had need to find anyone if someone should recruit her for her talent and skills in combat. Lions and dragons alike lived all over the island, it was important to keep tabs on who lives in what areas.

Solaris gave a nod walking forward his paws came in contact with the unstable ground though he readjusted his weight and continued onward. Mud was slippery but no matter they would hunt just as well.
"This way." he said moving through the underbrush, there was a dead wind as they walked providing the hunters and extra advantage though they didn’t need it he was sure.
A clearing was up a head, and some large deer had moved in now that the rain had stopped...

The pink lioness followed the purple lion, staying a few paces behind to keep what she thought was an appropriate amount of distance. Lamia tried her best not to get close to anyone, either physically or emotionally. She'd learned the emotion part from her mother, but she chose to keep herself physically distant. Lamia didn't need anyone to make her happy.
Carefully they walked through the mud and underbrush, no sign of any wind at all. A definate advantage for them if it stayed that way. Soon they came upon a clearing of wet grass, a herd of deer had moved in after the rain had stopped.

Solaris stopped alert suddenly he motioned silently to the pink female. This was going to be a bit harder seeing as both of them where bright colours and around them trees and shrubs... Solaris crouched as low as he could to hide himself. There where a fair amount of deer in the heard before the pair.
"Shall we come up with a plan then?" He whispered to Lamia almost silently. She had a good set of hunter’s ears she would be able to hear him. Solaris eyed the deer as he started trying to think of a plan to get at least two or three for Lamia and himself. True each one of them could take down a deer themselves but they could take down one more if they worked together.
They couldn’t simply just charge in, that would be useless. The deer would scatter quickly… he thought some more They could though slip to either side and get close to kill a deer on the edge of the heard then catch one more before the rest realized what was happening… That might work.
He explained it to Lamia to see if she agreed.
