Outside of Gaia, i'm a dragon-loving girl who gets her kicks out of Pern. Ellemir is the name of my first goldrider. whee This summer I decided to take a stab at creating and running a Pern-based role playing site: Pernjunkies.

The site is not completely finished but we're looking for people who are interested in role playing - we do have a forum dedicated to non Pern role playing - and dragons.

If you don't know what the heck Pern is or what it has to do with dragons, feel free to ask.

P.e.r.n. (it stands for Parallel Earth, Resources Negligible) is a fictional planet that is found and colonized in the future, where spaceships are the norm. The first generation (they're humans, in case I forget) to live on Pern finds out quickly that spores (a.k.a Thread) from space periodically rain down on Pern, destroying all carbon-based things/creatures (this includes humans). In order to combat this faceless enemy, one of Pern's brilliant geneticists engineers creatures straight out of Earth's myths - dragons. The dragons are actually engineered from a life form indigenous to Pern - Fire-lizards. Fire-lizards are like a bicycle to a Semi-trailer truck in size. Dragons char thread out of the skies, with their human riders astride their necks as they fly. Humans and dragons actually bond together via mental linkage, communicating to each other telepathically.
