I have a friend who plays the french horn! I also have a buddy who plays flute... but they are very different ppl! rofl rofl lol

why are flutes woodwinds when they are made out of silver or some other type of metal

The fisrt flutes were made out of wood. I have a really cheap wooden one that only has six holes.

The only woodwind that was never made of wood was the saxophone.... i think... i'm not an expert or anything so feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but the flute was made out of wood a long long time ago

I want a wooden clarinet! They are soooo nice. They sound so much better then my crappy plastic one. ><
Most advanced woodwinds are made of wood. Saxophones and current flutes are an exception.

I played around with the mellophone for a while but I am a woodwind through and through. My lips got pissed off at me for buzzing and buzzing.

saxophones are beast even though they only have a couple pieces of wood slapped together.and a hunk o' complecated metal. i would know i'm on my 3'rd year of playin it.

Haha, cool guys! I'm in my 5th year of playing flute, but just pretty casual playing. Band class, I'm kindof a practise when I'm bored rather than do homework kinda person, so that means I'm a practise-aholic. And so I like flute!! Hey, anyone play piccalo here? I'm just curious. How is it? I'm probably getting the job next year and you know...if there's any tips u can give ahead of time...Yeah!
