My Grandmother is taking each of her grandchildren on an abroad trip somewhere and next summer is my turn. I can go anywhere except Japan, because its too costly and places that she has already gone (New Zeeland, Australia, China, Turkey, the North of France.) I can’t go to Italy because my younger cousin really wants to go there for her trip. The south of France is still an option because she hasn’t seen much of it.

What I want to know is: If you were given this opportunity where would you go and why? Where should I go? I would kill to see Versailles, but there are so many other places I just cant decide sweatdrop

Hmm, you can go to France, but then again there are also Germany, there's the Netherlands, oh, and then there's South Korea as well. Those are the other places I would most go.

Oooor if you want to go someplace exotic, I think Greece sounds nice as well. heart

Your Grandmother is ******** awesome, by the way.

I'd go to Sweden! One of thier cities, called Visby, is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! It has the appearance of a midevil city, but it's completely modern! How awesome is that? And Stockholm is a nice place, too. The city is built in Canals, and you could go hang out at the royal castle! Oh lol, and you could go up north and take part in the Surströmming festival. XD

You are very lucky to have such an opportunity!
I would travel to England, Scotland, or Germany. I've always adored those places.

if it were up to me, I'd go to Thailand, france, spain, and Korea. It's a bummer that you can't go to Japan..that's my number one on my traveling list. Even my parents wouldn't take me to Japan. So sad.

but still...wow! you get to travel..i wish my grandparents were as generous as yours!

Its too bad you're giving Italy up. There are so many beautiful cities there, Venice and Bologna being my favorites.

Anywho, I've done a lot of traveling but would love to go to Japan... *sigh* Or Corsica...

Anyway, some great places you could go see, in my opinion, are the Greek Islands, especially Mmikinos or Crete. Another place that is a little less touristy but absolutely picturesque medieval city called Dubrovnik in Croatia that hasn't been changed for hundreds of years. They also have great pizza, and are the creators of the bow tie. The streets are made of polished marble, and there are street performers and people dressed in period clothing as well as really cute stores.

If I were given such an opportunity, I would go to Germany, especially the Bavarian region. Apparently it is like something out of a fairy tale!

I have done some traveling in the Americas, and I must say that Quebec is amazing. The walled city is beautiful, and there is nothing quite like an afternoon drive through the Ile d'Orleans during the summer-- admiring the beautiful old farms and rolling fields, stopping at farm stands and vineyards along the way and filling your tummy with amazing breads, jams, fruits, and some of the best vin d'glace I have ever tasted! I enjoyed my trip there so much, that I may just have to return there this summer.

I also love Mexico, especially the city of Puebla! The city's architecture is very colonial and terribly beautiful, and there are many artists there, and a whole street full of candy shops!
