Paws travelled softly on the grass as the pink male stood out in all the green. Pembe'juhi hadn't been back over in this way in quite a while. Perhaps he should go and visit his family while he has made his way over here.
His pale eyes scanned the landscape of the Pridelands. As usually, it was bustling with life everywhere, and he couldn't help but smile softly. It was just as it was when he left, nothing had changed here.

Ugh. Why couldn't she just get him out of her head!? Why couldn't she just forget all about him, and start her life over? It was with a snarl that the lionness angrily swiped her paw at the lush, green grass before her, ripping it from the ground and flinging it a few feet away. Anger expended, Azriell watched the bare patch of soil she'd left somewhat sadly, a sigh escaping her maw.
She didn't notice the pink male - quite a feat, considering how much he stood out - as she laid herself down on the grass, grey and tan contrasting agaisnt the vegetation. But it wasn't like she was hunting - no. She was just thinking, and considering options. She'd been doing rather a lot of that lately.

As his mind was starting to drift about all the things he could do here while seeing his mother, Pembe'juhi caught the scent of another lion nearby. Broken from his reverie, his pale eyes scanned the landscape for the source of the scent. It didn't take him too long to pick out the light grey and brown figure not too far away. He was curious.
Upon further inspection as he made his way over to the figure, he noticed that it was a lioness lying on the ground. He blinked, was she sad? Well, he would just have to cheer her up them! Not wanting to shock the female, he decided to make his presence know as he got closer to her. "Are you alright?"

It was a few moments after Pembe spoke that Azi actually looked up, blinking in a surprised way. Emerald green eyes met sky blue, and her ears were pinned back against her head, showing her surprise. She blinked a few more times, before beginning to get to her feet. All thoughts from before were forgotten - she'd just been approached by a pride member? She'd assumed they'd just leave her alone. And besides, she didn't want to get a lecture about cheering herself up.
"I'm fine," she stated bluntly, still watching the lion carefully. What did he want?

He watched her carefully, Pembe'juhi wanted to make sure that she was alright. Did everyone just lay there and sigh all the time? He surely hoped not. With a small smile at her answer, "You sure? You can talk my ear off if you'd like!"
It was just in his nature to be good-natured, he couldn't help it. But he knew when to not tell someone what to do. Being bossy wasn't any good. "It's been so long since I've been home, it's nice to see others still here." He introduced himself, "I'm Pembe'juhi, but I like to be called Pembe. Much easier to remember."

Azriell furrowed her eyebrows a little, confused. This male was a stranger, yet here he was, wanting her to just talk to him like she was an old friend? How...strange. Weird sounded a little too mean, so just strange was fine. She didn't really want know what at all to say, so remained quiet as he continued talking, speaking about how it was so long since he'd been home.
Azi pushed herself to her feet, into a relaxed standing position just as he introduced himself. More to please him than anything else, she flashed a small smile. He was trying really hard to make her feel better, that was clear, and she didn't want to disappoint him. Perhaps a friend was what she needed.
"I'm Azriell'Kyupe, but most call me Azriell, or Azi," she spoke gently, pausing for a few moments before glancing towards Pembe with a quizzical expression, "Have you been travelling?"
She'd always wanted to know what lay outside the Prideland borders.

At least his efforts weren't wasted and for that, Pembe was proud. She could have shooed him away, but instead she talked to him. He beamed, "It's a pleasure to meet you Azi."
At her question, he nodded, "Yup, I have been travelling. I guess it comes from my mother's side of the family but when I was younger I always had the urge to wander outside the borders to see what is out there." He remember hearing stories from his grandmother about the time she was a rogue and he had been inspired. "There are some amazing things out there, some of which I would have never of imagined!"

Azriell managed a small smile back towards the male to return his beam, which was just a little too happy. How could someone constantly be happy like that? It was un-natural.
At the mention of his travels, her ears perked up a little, the lionness genuinely interested in what he had to say. She'd been considering leaving the Pridelands for quite a while now, to see what was out there. She didn't feel complete here - not at the moment, at least. Perhaps she could find what she was looking for out there, in the big wide world.
"It does sound amazing," she agreed, a tiny smile on her maw, "I've always wanted to go travelling - just never actually done it."

He nodded, "It is amazing, or at least, most of the time. Sure there are places that are less amazing than others. But that's the beautiful of going off and travelling, is that you get to experience everything. The good and the bad." Pembe has enjoyed travelling very much, that much he knew.
"It is hard to take the first step, because you have to leave all of your securities behind. When you're off by yourself, you only have yourself to depend on." He gave a small shrug, "It all depends on you and what your interests are, really."

Azriell managed a wider smile - and what's more, it was genuine. She listened rather intently, seeing as she was actually interested. It sounded...rather awesome. That was why she wanted to travel - she knew she'd have good and bad times, but she also knew that the experience would be amazing. And hopefully she'd learn more about herself. That was what she really wanted.
Pembe didn't seem so cheery-happy-happy all of a sudden, and Azi wasn't too sure whether that was a good or a bad thing. She did her best to ignore it, however, beginning to walk back towards the main dens of the land, expecting the male to follow
"...Can you tell me stories? Of what it was like?"

The pink male followed after Azi, not wanting to lose sight of her or to have to talk louder than what was necesary. At her request, Pembe was all but glad to tell her of any and every story he could think of! If there was anything more rewarding than spending time with newfound friends.
He racked his brain for a moment, trying to think of something exciting to tell her. And then, he remembered one of his favorite places, "There's this place, that's rather far from here where there are trees everywhere! It's very close to the jungle and I've never seen so many trees around in one place. I tried all over the roots of the trees, because many of them were stuck out of the ground." He shook his head at the memories of his clumbiness, "But in there, there is a lake. The water is as blue as the sky and flowers all around. And in the back of the lake is a waterfall. It is amazing, the sound it makes."

Azi paused to watch Pembe, with what could only be described as admiration on her face as she listened to the tale. It sounded...beautiful. Magical. Amazing. She only wished that she were brave enough to venture out of her home, the Pridelands, and journey elsewhere. See just what the world had to offer.
"It sounds...beautiful." admitted the female, with a rather sad sigh, as she continued walking, "...Hopefully I'll see something that amazing, someday."

"That is probably my favorite place to go and visit. But because it is rather far off, I only go there every now and then," Pembe paused briefly as he walked next to Azi. He noticed that she had looked sad.
With a nod he replied, "It most definitely is. And I'm sure you will. Whether it be here in the pride lands or on an adventure, there are amazing things everywhere. You just have to know how to look for them." He gaze across the landscape, Pride's rock was still the same as ever. "When I was younger, I was afraid to leave the lands while my big sister would wander everywhere. It's funny how the roles are changed now."

Azriell smiled ever-so slightly, looking up to Pembe sincerely. In this light...she suddenly realized thathe was actually quite an attractive lion. Her smile widened a little, and she paused in her stride once more, flashing her gaze back to the ground with pink-ish cheeks.
"...Thanks, Pembe. You...you've made me feel a lot better."
It was true. Talking to the lion had lifted her spirits a little, and she was once again eager to go travelling. She'd have to talk it over with her mother, of course, and with the few friends she actually had in the Pridelands. But she'd do it - she knew she would.
Looking back to Pembe again, she smiled, "So...yeah. Thanks."

His heart leapth at Azi's words. Pembe was always out there to make friends and see them smile. And today he had accomplished just that. His tail flicked slightly as he replied, "Well, I'm glad to hear that. I noticed you had looked down earlier."
He gave her a smile, "It's a pleasure...I should hope that you find something that you enjoy. It is nice to be able to do something that is enjoyable because it means that'll you do it to the fullest."
