Jake continued walking through Lyra Forest with his partner pokemon, Piplup. Jake looked down at his partner and smiled, "Piplup, I really want to thank you. If it weren't for you, there would have been no way that I would have graduated pokemon ranger school." Piplup gave a smile, "Piplup! Pip!" Jake pulled out his ranger certificate and examined it.
Jake had been training in the pokemon ranger school located in Summerland to become a pokemon ranger for the past two years. While on a practice mission, Jake came across a Piplup in danger. Jake rescued this Piplup and before he knew it, they were best friends. Upon graduation, Jake was assigned to the ranger base in Ring Town and was given a set of clothes to wear on his journey there. Unable to take the dragonite bus, Jake had to walk to his new ranger base to introduce himself to his new leader, Spencer.
After another ten minutes of walking through Lyra Forest, Jake and Piplup reached Ring Town. Jake scanned the area and found the ranger base. Jake and Piplup walked up to the door, took a deep breath, and then walked inside.

Jake walked into the Ring Town ranger base with Piplup on his shoulder. The base was a wide open room with a front desk, a styler recharge dock, a sofa, a TV, a dining area, and a staircase in the corner. Inside the base were a few rangers all talking about their missions. Jake was greeted by a short, chubby man with a slowpoke, "Hey, I'm Murph! And this is my partner, Slowpoke!" Murph pointed at Slowpoke with his styler and then dropped it by accident. Picking up his styler, he continued to speak, "You must be Jake, the new ranger. Right?" Jake nodded. "Alright, I thought you were new. Well Spencer is out on a mission at the moment, so how about we get a cup of coffee and chat?" Jake agreed and they got a cup of coffee and sat at the couch and began a conversation.
"So, is that Piplup your partner?"
Jake nodded and fed Piplup a pokeblock, "Yeah, he helped me out a lot back in ranger school."
Murph smiled, "That's great, I didn't meet slowpoke until way into my ranger career. I saved him from a group of Croconaw back in Summerland. We get along great." Slowpoke gave a delayed smile.
Jake laughed, "That's cool. So what kind of mission is Spencer on right now?"
"He's deep in Lyra Forest. There have been reports of a lost girl so he sent out to save her."
Jake nodded. After a few minutes of talking, the door opened and Spencer walked in. Jake recognized him from ranger school. Spencer came in every once in a while to grade students in challenges.
