Incorrin paced from one side of the rocky outcropping to the other, seemingly-blind eyes combing the landscape. In search of a single figure... A pale-coated lioness... His only real friend, beyond the family his brother had made...
Friend. It was strange, to even think the word... And to think of it with Hera... So delicate, so light, so female... Lovely dainty Hera... More than a friend.
The wind shifted, jerking his attention to the plains. Was she here?
"Hera.."

To say she'd lost track of the moons that had passed since the day of their meeting was underrating Hera's memory. But the white lioness had made a conscious effort to not think about it or the numerous times she and Incorrin had further spent in the company of each other, trying to keep her daydreams out of her treks. But with her mothers, especially Ate, keeping out of troubling others, though, even if it meant happiness for her, it also meant her days were particularly devoided of happenings, and so her thoughts soared. And so did her paws, to quickly return to the Fallen King's side.
With a soft smile, she crossed the plains, as swift as the blowing wind, slowing as she reached the rocky grounds, the pale figure detaching from the grays of the landscape. "Lord Incorrin..." A warmness flushed her cheeks, filling her heart as well with a joy she didn't dare speak of, ever shy. To vex her Lord with such thoughts... no, she wouldn't dare...

Tension rolled through him as he moved in tight circles, around the stone pillar... The only landmark for many leagues, a stone pillar in a sea of grass. He had hoped she would have arrived by now...
The wind whispered and he spun, searching the lands. There. He smiled as she stepped away from the mist, moving foward. The joy in her face lifted his heart, did something to mend his Broken existance.
"Lady Hera..." He crooned, stepping closer to nuzzle her cheek. "Wonderful to see you again."

Noticing his restlessness, almost anxiety, Hera purred softly, wishing to sooth the dark lion. "I am happy to see you as well, Lord Incorrin..." As he nuzzled her, she nuzzled him back gently, frowning lightly. "You seemed nervous from the distance, might something be troubling you, my Lord?"

"Trouble." He rumbled in a growl, resting his chin on her head protectively. "Just the faintest of notions, Sweet Hera... But after so long tending the Broken Dreams... I have learned not to dismiss it so lightly as I might have done once... Particularly on the mortal plane..."
He pawed at the ground, muscles in his back and shoulders tensing. Something was out there, or comming... Something, not so good...

Trouble. There was a word of many meanings. It could represent a lost cub. It could represent a wildfire. It could go from a twisted ankle to a bloody plague. To her, it usually meant harm to others. It would be to no surprise, then, that Hera's concern grew, trying to find the signs Incorrin felt with her eyes. "My lord, have you any light as to what it may be?" Her tail swayed quickly from side to side, showing her nerves. What could it be?

He tilted his head, considering her with a small smile. She couldn't call him Incorrin or Inc, always 'My Lord' or 'Lord Incorrin'... At least it was better than 'King'... But not by much.
"Light?" He rumbled. "Ahh Hera, you forget whom you speak to... There is little light to shine on me... I just know I have a feeling, Little Goddess... But in my experience, that is more than enough.."
He sighed, turning to nuzzle at her neck even as tension sang through him. He didn't like this, waiting, not really knowing... It put him on edge...

What the mind tried so hard to ignore slipped through its fingers. In this time of danger, even her embarassment had faded away, not flinching at Incorrin's touch and nuzzling him back worriedly. Only one barrier left, his call. It was a way of showing humility and respect for others, but towards Incorrin, it was to remind herself to keep her distance, of not getting in too deep as to not attract any disgrace. It was her own dellusion. "The sun shines for all all the same, my Lord. If not, your shadow is mine as well."

His laugh was a low rumble of sound, though it held little amusement. "A white coat... A pure heart... Nothing shadows you, Dear Hera... Not me, or my family, my past..."
He turned the seemingly blind eyes skyward, silently swearing he could hear Ancorath pacing along the walls of the Celestial Prison. He would be free soon, one way or another... And then what?
His tail curled around her, body leaning more solidly against hers... For a moment he lifted his head and rested his chin atop her brow, a silent vow to protect.
"You are light, always light Hera... Almost blinding..." His voice was a soft caress. "You burn me..."

"..." Hera's ears dropped in sadness, the dreaded feeling of powerlessness washing over her as it had so many times. It had a particulary acrid taste in this one though. She had never delved into Incorrin's past out of respect for his privacy and not wishing to cause him any pain or, worse, that he'd close even further and shun her. But it wasn't right! Why did he have to suffer in silence and loneliness, such a gentle soul?? "How can I shine if it hurts the one I want to heal? If the source of my light remains in the dark?? Please, my Lord!!! I am here because I want to share your burden, ease your pain, stay by your side!!! You are not alone, you make me not alone..." The tears that had begun welling up in her eyes overflowed, little pearls of water glittering as they ran down her cheeks, her voice wavering from strong to feeble, pleading. "Please... stop keeping your pain to yourself and... give it to me..."

"You misunderstand me, My Angel..." He smiled slightly -sadly- as he gently nuzzled away her tears. How could he even begin to explain? Within him, he carried every sad memory, every broken dream. It was his role, his Rule. He was King of Sorrow. The King of Broken Dreams...
"Didn't your mother ever warn you, Lovely Hera?" No. She probably wouldn't have. "I am as I have always been... I cannot change that... But you have never hurt me, not more than I wanted to be hurt. I want you with me -always- I want to bask in the light of your presence, to enjoy your happiness..."
He licked her cheek. "You are the only joy I allow myself, Hera... You are all that is good in my life, I would not you bearing my pain... I would not want to taint you with all I Govern."
Ancorath reveled in the darkness... He and Incorrin had always managed to get on better than Ancorath and Talcorin... Tal was too good... And if Rath got loose, the last thing Inc wanted was him cuddling up to Hera just because she'd glimpsed the Wasteland of Dreams.

"My Lord..." She looked straight into his blind eyes, those pain riddled eyes. Mustering the courage to say it. To finally voice it. "My Lord, I do not care if I hurt... if I am tainted... because... it's too late..." Her small white form lowered to the ground, lying on her side, completely exposed, completely submissive. Completely his. "To love... to want to share the happy and joyful times... but also to share the pain and sadness... to share a life... is what I feel. I... I love you... and I am... yours... all yours..." Her eyes closed and her head lowered to the soft grass as well, waiting on a reaction. Completely frozen, and scared out of her mind. But... she needed him to know. Wanted him... to know... and no matter what may come, what his reaction was... at least her heart was at peace.
