Well, I guess several people haven't heard of the Limited-Edition booklet for American Idiot. It was a couple bucks more than the regular one, and I had a gift card, so I bought this one instead. It's actually a book (the CD is in back), and it has all kinds of interesting color pictures and a little more info about the story from the mouth of JOS. So here it is for your viewing pleasure.
(Note: everything is written in capitals, but I didn't want to hurt your eyes because its not as bad on paper as it is on a computer ^_^')Page 1 - Day Shedule

Feb 24
Dear Me,
Today I forgot to take a shower (again). I'm gonna meet up with the usual suspects (again) for another afternoon of s**t-talking and cigarettes and <******** "Buy me a beer" sir. Meet me at the center of my miserable exsistance, turd boy. Ain't it need? God told me to skin you alive.* Or was it my stepdad? I think
he forgot to shower today also.
Is anyone noticing a pattern here?
Oh well. He doesn't get ******** laid either. Sweet Jesus, can't a guy get a damn cigarette around here?
Note to Self: GET ME THE ******** OUT OF TURDTOWN!! Let's start a war, shall we... - J

To the City,
I held up my local convience store to get a bus ticket. Actually, I stole the money from my mom's dresser. (Actually she lent me the cash) ******** b***h. Give me sidewalk city shadows. My own private war. Rally the troops. The place is big enough for all the ******** and the underbelly. Shine your light on this ********. I got plans baby. Tell the bishop there's a resistance excuring, ya b*****d. Everything is so ******** black and white. And the good guys ain't wearing red, white or blue. Hang your dark cloud over your dirty, old town, the end of the world is over. This is hell and it's televised.
My riot,
my love,
my country. The dawning of a new city, new faces, new voices, my voice...

Is life imitating me? Or is this not what I imagined. I jerked off into oblivion this evening. My dream is turning
cold blue, but I thought good guys don't wear blue? No one seems to agree on anything these days. This city.
It's misting over the skyscrapers. The cement feels so damp yet pretty all at once. Is rage imitating life? I feel like a civil war, like a knife in my heart. I got an ax to grind and it's splitting my head open. No friends, no girls. I need both.

Dear Mom,
(Polaroid photo of two sets of teeth)
I shot drugs for the first time today (thank you Jimmy).
Now we're getting somewhere (nowhere). We don't need no stinking badges. What? Who said that? This is good. My a** took a beating. I forgot to take a shower (again). Ahh. Holy water. I am
in the denial, but at least I got a friend. Mom, you were right. I did make a friend at camp. Remember when Dad (Brad) said I would never amount to anything? Well, I one up'd him. I amount to nothing. I knew you'd be proud. I got a place to stay by the way. I'm on the couch tour from hell. I still have a few bucks left so I should be fine for awhile. Send my love to the 7-11. And yes, I
am satan.

My heart is like a bomb. Went to a show (house) last night. (Band sucked) But she's got my mother's eyes. Blue like my dreams. Good guys
do wear black. She calls me Jimmy. It's better than "what's his face". Could this be lust or "the dawning". She thinks I'm full of s**t. But she thinks I'm cute. Or is it the opposite? But we do agree on one thing... good guys don't wear red, white & blue. - J

Dear Dad,
Or God, or whatever,
I stole some money from "whatsername". (Actually she lent me the cash). I got a bus ticket home.
I'M NOTHING JUST LIKE YOU.Too bad you'll never read this. I met the girl of my dreams. She's dead now. To
me anyway. I'm coming home in victory. Arms open wide, sitting by a Greyhound toliet. Justice was served. The end of the world was hell all along. You were just too stupid to notice. That's why I love you.
First stop, convenient store. I got
lies to tell. Glory never felt so good. I'll by my own beer, thank you very much. - J
P.S. Take a ******** shower.

Also, if you want more information on the song meanings, which also explain the story a bit better, Green Day Authority has some good explinations.
