Cara hadn't quite been sure what to think about the Academy when she'd first arrived, but having lived on a ship for most of her adult life, she quickly learned a routine and stuck to it. Granted, most of this so-called "routine" involved strutting around the temple halls and watching people, hoping that someone would gawk at her lightsaber, but she always set aside a little part of each day to train, in the hidden hopes that someone would notice the newly-christened Knight and somehow find her special.
After all, Cara thought it was special.
And it was for this very reason that Cara was on the sands of the training grounds that particular day, staring down a droid with some form of devilish intent. She went for her lightsaber, and hesitated while she listened to the thrum of the crimson blade for a moment, lost in thought until the droid started shooting at her and she was brought back down to the situation at hand.
Parry, parry--now!
She lunged for the droid with a resounding swoop of her lightsaber, and beamed with self-satisfied pride as it toppled to the ground. True, it was only set to level seven, but no one else had to know that, and besides, Cara had to start somewhere. She could play the part of big bad Sith Lady later--for now, she was still learning.

For Ana it really was just school with less humiliation and more physical work. Then again working a tiny little farm for her family was just as physical and probably ten times more boring. Either way this wasn't the perfect get away plan she had hoped it would be.
However it did have its up sides. Sitting in the same training ground, off to the side mostly unaware of what went on around her, focusing on the rock, she slowly raised her hand. Sure she might not be the strongest, but she had a jump start on everyone here she mussed as the rock slowly followed her hand up into the air.
A thunk and a crash got her attention though, slowly she turned her attention towards Cara, the rock forgotten quite quickly dropped to the ground as Ana's focus shifted outwards to 'see' what was causing the noise. Having nothing better to do she turned completely to focus straight ahead on the older student training with a lightsaber.
Wonder how long it takes to get one of those lightsabers....

So enraptured was Cara by her recent victory over the droid that it took her a moment to realize that there was anyone watching, and she looked over her shoulder with a somewhat surprised glance. Now that she thought about it, she could sense the girl with the Force, but admittedly, she still wasn't used to sensing in favor of actually seeing or hearing someone.
"Hey there," Cara called out, putting her lightsaber away as she walked over. The uniform suggested that the girl was a youngling, and Cara had been toying with the idea of interacting with younglings for weeks. After all, part of the reason for being a Knight in the first place was to take on an apprentice, and Cara liked the idea of being a teacher, of having some value to the next generation.
"You're one of the Sith younglings, right?" It should have been obvious to Cara, since they were in the Sith temples, but she still wasn't sure about all the protocol, and besides, it made for good conversation.

The Miraluka girl raised an eyebrow slowly as the old student walked over to address her. For Ana she was so used to the force to sense and see people that finding people in the temple was for the most part like looking at a bunch of people lit up like lanterns. So many radiated the force to her senses that it was almost impossible not to see them for her.
"Well I'm in the Sith training grounds, I'm wearing our training robes, that would be a really good guess." She paused for a moment furrowing her brow, "So yes I am a youngling, is that a problem?" Why did she come over in the first place, its not like she had disrupted her practice or anything.

"No, no problem at all!" Cara responded, somehow getting the feeling that she'd either interrupted the girl's training, or had otherwise broken some cultural taboo that she didn't know of. She hadn't meant for them to start off on the wrong foot, and decided that the only way to keep from that situation was to stay amicable. It was possible the kid was just shy.
"I was just curious, since I haven't been here all that long. I thought I'd come over and introduce myself, that's all. My name's Cara," she added with a friendly tone, smiling but unsure of whether or not she should extend her hand in a typical greeting. She decided against it, as it would just make the situation more awkward if the girl didn't see it, or even worse, ignored it.
"I'm one of the Knights," she continued, hoping that, at least, would catch the girl's interest.

Continuing to sit, leaning back against the wall behind her in the stands were other students and mentors sometimes sat during training she would shrug slightly at the problem statement. Ana wasn't shy, so much as she was just a bit of a brat who had a strong taste in not trusting people.
"Anastasia, Ana." she mutterd, "If you haven't been here long how do you have one of those?" She gestured towards the lightsaber, "I was told we had to work hard and train to get one of those so how did you get one?"

Cara opened her mouth to answer Ana, but mid-way she discovered that she didn't really know. What kept Cara from being a "youngling" herself? She hesitated, then put a hand on the hilt of her lightsaber.
"I built my saber before I came here, and I did training on my own. So it's not like I'm just starting out or anything. Master Lan-gui offered to train me further, that's all." When Cara had formulated the response, it had sounded pretty good, but once it was spoken aloud it didn't seem so impressive. The fact of the matter was that the youngling before her probably had more formal training, and that was a scary thought indeed, considering who held the lightsaber.
"The place needed Knights, and we had to come from somewhere. After all, Master Lan-gui can only take on so many padawans."

"So you built one? What did you do, find some blueprints on a holopage?" The comment came off somewhat snide, after all, hadn't it been noted that she herself had more knowledge then some of the other younglings? Why was she in the same group as them?
Slowly Ana would stand up, which really wasn't that intimidating since she was far from being anywhere near as tall as Cara. "So if your a knight you can take me as a padawan then? That's how it 'works' from what I was told."

"Actually...yeah. That was pretty much how it happened," Cara said with a shaky laugh. She wasn't about to admit that she learned just about everything to do with being a Sith the same way, but she could at least concede to that, and felt appropriately silly for her circumstances.
At the next question, Cara hesitated again, but came up with an answer pretty quickly. "Well, Ana, I don't know where you are in your training, but when you're ready, you get a padawan. At least, that's what I was told." She contemplated for a moment, then added, "That doesn't mean I can't show you a few things on the side, before you're chosen."
Maybe that would catch Ana's attention.

With a blind fold it made reading a face hard since one couldn't see the others eyes, but then again, Ana's eyes were useless in that sense as well. Either way had she been able to show skepticism through them it would have shone quite clear. "Right... the Sith just have applications all over the place then..."
"Training? I use the force every day just to see for that matter." She glanced back at her practice rock and once more held out her hand pressing her lips tight and slowly but surely the stone floated up ever so slowly again. "They said... I was naturally attuned to the force."
Dropping the rock she glanced back towards Cara head tilted with a smirk on her face, "Can you do that?"

Cara watched with an admitted fascination as the girl lifted the stone from the ground. It had taken her months to exhibit that sort of self-control, and even then, it was a shaky hold at best. Then again, Ana had said that she used the Force daily, so that made Cara feel a little bit better. Cara still had time to learn.
"Sure, I can do that," Cara responded with a feigned smugness of her own, and concentrating, she lifted the same stone, allowing it to hover for a moment or so to prove her point. "I can do more than that, too." With a shriek at the sudden movement of the air, the stone rocketed skyward, and Cara watched as it seemed to disappear to the skies.
Faintly, she heard it make impact on one of the nearby buildings, coupled with the tinkling noise made by something as it broke. Well, that was what she got for showing off.
Cara froze, then began to laugh shakily, hoping that Master Lan-gui wouldn't be too cross. "See? Don't even know my own strength."

Ana was good at two things currently with the force, lifting and shifting small objects, and using it to 'see' or as others would say 'sense' either way she was rather surprised at how the stone suddenly flew far out of her range to sense and probably eyesight...
Wait scratch that, were ever that window was, someone was bound to have just seen a rock go through it. "So they gave you a lightsaber... and you don't even fully have control of your own powers?"

Cara frowned, and realized rather quickly that she didn't like how the youngling was questioning her knighthood. "Every one of us has specialties, and every one of us has room to grow," she responded, doing her best not to sound insulted, and instead of letting the girl see her anger, she channeled it, narrowed and compacted it's pressure until she had a single concrete connection to the Force.
She reached out a hand, and a nearby stone lifted itself gently and floated into her palm. At the touch, her anger dissipated, and she smiled, rolling the smooth surface of the stone within her fingers.
"See? I just have to concentrate, that's all."

Relaxing somewhat she shrugged her shoulders towards the older Sith. Crossing her arms and then her legs she continued to watch, "Potential, our growth yes yes I know. The masters have mentioned it plenty of times."
All at once the force started to shift again around her as Cara focused on the stone again, this time with far more control she was able to lift and control it. Offering nothing more then a shrug she continued to sit, not even really looking at the rock, her 'eyes' would have been staring clean across the feild yet still she saw it. "Yes so you can lift it calm congratulations."
Finally Ana stood up stretching, "I have training to attend, I'll see you around... I guess..."

So, the girl hadn't been that impressed after all. Granted, Cara doubted that she would have been either, and the thought made her falter, letting the rock fall through her fingers to the ground after a moment of anxious fidgeting.
"Alright, then, wouldn't want to keep you from your lessons," said Cara with a stoic nod, though she hardly felt stoic at all, the beginnings of a frown tugging on the sides of her mouth. "Once I get all settled in, I'm going to check to see if I can hold some classes about piloting. It should be fun." She hesitated again, then looked for something to look at, just to be busy. This was getting too awkward for her repoitoire of social skills.
"Let me know if you need anything: I'll be around." Having said her bit, Cara turned back to her original training, but looking at the droids, realized that she couldn't put her heart into it at the moment, and that sort of training was useless when focus came from one's passion. Shrugging to herself, she decided the best thing to do would be to simply not worry about it for now. She could always ask the Master later. And with that, she began walking back towards the dormitories, figuring that, if nothing else, she'd find something to do there.
