Hmm...I'm not sure if it's just the admins that are allow to make topics, but I just wanted to try. He he he. sweatdrop Hmm...so I've finished reading the novel and it was sad even on the first page. I literally had to stop for two minutes and take a deep breath before I continued reading it. Overall I would say the book was ok...not what i expected though. Kenyon made him a VERY different person from my perspective. I don't know, he seemed a little weak(no offense). So, I didn't really like the last part. It was too normal for me. Hehe still, he is cool though i think I'd prefer him being mysterious. wink Quote: Edited by moderator to comply with literacy rule of Guild.

Do not worry anyone is aloud to make a thread and all of us enjoy discussion. Its just only a few people have been around the guild...and most of the ones who are, are the mods. I being one of them.
I personally found Acheron a lovely book. I liked how Acheron showed his softer side though after about three quarters of the first half I kind of wish she would have just got on with it. The future I wish she had put more detail into it but I loved it all the same. <3 Especially since Jaden was in it, and he is one awesome character.
PS: As a side note: "This is a literate guild so there will be no half-speak half-insane posts that people will have to use a decoder to understand." This is right off the front page. From now on please try and be a little bit more literate. Not meaning to be rude just a firm suggestion. Pay attention to grammar and please write in proper sentences.
Edit: I edited your post to comply with the literacy rule.

The first half of Acheron broke my heart. The fact that someone would go through that, fictional or not, killed me inside. It was really hard for me to read, just because of what he was as a human. I kept wanting to skip ahead and get to the fun, sarcastic, snarky stuff.
Vampire: I had a response to you finding Ash "weak" then realized I had several responses depending on what you found weak about him, so what was it that was weak, did you think? Because I think Kenyon did a really good job, but we're here to discuss it soo...
What really threw me in Acheron was that I was beggining to LIKE Artie... then she ruined it, and I was back to hating her guts... It was really confusing for me...
Anyone else have something to say? I'd love to actually talk about the book with someone who has read it... my coworkers got annoyed with me because I wouldn't shut up...

I liked Ash's book, but i agree it didn't fit with how I had previously imagined him. I am still unsure if I like him being married! eek
The first half of the book was much better written than the present day section, but maybe thats just me wanting to keep Ash for myself!
But I dont think any of the book had the usual upbeat feel that the hot good guys will defeat the baddies.....
Oh No! Poor Nick whats going to happen!!

when I read the book I tried reading the first part but I got impatient and skipped it and went to the second part.
the second part is different from the other previous books. but I liked it.. it was sweet. xp and I was happy that damn b*tch died. though I wanted her her dead to be more painful than what had happen to her.. >.>
anyway. after I finished reading the second part I went back to that first though I was reluctant to read it for some reason.
its weird that I didn't cry or shed a tear when I read Acheron. though I did get angry at the people who hurt him and became happy for him when he found Tory.

I'm not completely emotionless! <3 Everyone else I talked to cried...though my friend Heather says she cried because of lack of sleep.

I really loved Acheron. I'm so glad we finally got to see the whole story and not just bits and pieces and crypt remarks made by people who once knew him. I didn't cry but there were a few times I was close to crying.
I ended up reading the first part at my sisters house and she threatened to shred the book if I didn't put it down and actually spend time with her. So I read the second part the next day when I finally got some sleep.

I didn't cry either which surprised me because I normally do. I was a little disappointed when it got to the modern times also. I felt she should have put more into it.

I didn't cry. I thought the first half was horrible and I felt so sorry for him. But his whole image of his mystery has gone now. And for who he loved, I never liked her, which really sucked. So yeah...I hope Stryker and Jaden deliver more.

I don't understand how you can't like Tory when she was but 13 or 14 when she was introduced in Arik's story. She wasn't what I imagined, but I love that Kenyon bought back a person from a previous story. It shows that although everyone is different, everyone's lives are intertwined.
I think the reason Kenyon put so much effort into Acheron's past rather than his present is because Acheron has been around in the other Dark Hunter's series. We already KNEW what he was doing and how he was doing and how mysterious he is. Now, we know WHY he is the way he is. I think she did his background complete and utter justice, and I cried while I read the first part. I'm a social worker who works in child protection so the idea of him being used as a sex slave since the age of SEVEN just broke me. It also explained why his relationship with Artemis is the way it is. I was just so glad to see him free of her once and for all. Acheron's happiness was one that I wanted for a long time. I freakin love the fact that he got drunk off Sprite. I love that god.
I'm kind of sad that Kenyon is giving Nick the shaft though. I would hope that after all Nick knew about Artemis, he'd tell her to screw off and find someone else to torment. But we shall see.
I don't find Acheron weak. It takes a very strong man to continue to see the good in people. To continue to always be the better man even if he doesn't want to. He could have destroyed his entire family, but he didn't. He could have let his mother destroy the planet, but he didn't. The thing about Greek mythology is that gods are powerful, but fallible. He may have been all knowing, but he still screws up and is still in touch with his human side.
I'm really interested to see how she's going to redeem Stryker. I cannot stand that POS, so I don't know if I can bring myself to read it. I'm glad Satara died, though. God, she was a ****. I'm interested in Jaden and Savitar's stories as well.

I love Strkyer haha. He is one of my top favourites.
There's just something about Tory I guess that doesn't interest me. I don't know... It's probably because I really hated Arik's book and couldn't connect with any of the characters...
