A breeze hit Usiku's mane and made it flutter in the wind. It was a calm night and he had always enjoyed being awake for the symbols of his goddess. He enjoyed being in her presence, although he had never seen her. The night sky and the twinkling stars burning up in the sky visited Earth every night. The goddess of night had blessed Usiku with her favorite colors.
One of his favorite places to visit during this time was a watering hole. Everytime he looked into it, the reflection of the moon sparkled up at him, almost as if it was welcoming him. It mesmorized him and if only he didn't blend in so well with the surroundings so well in the darkness, he would have been spotted at it often. It was almost a rare occasion when anyone ever saw this midnight blue malu, since he was always off in hiding when the sun made it's presence.
He had calmed down quite a bit since he was a child. He was always into adventures and such when he was little, but now his perfect adventure was just venturing off into the night, hearing the sound of crickets. It was relaxing and nobody else was ever awake to disturb his sound mind. Once in a seldom while he would bump into the occasional malu, but he didn't make much of it. Everyone in his childhood life had disappeared anyways, so he figured he was fine on his own, not depending on anyone to be there. That way he had nothing to expect.
Usiku had been making his way to his favorite place when he noticed a female in the opposite direction aiming towards the same destination. Perhaps she wouldn't see him if he didn't make too quick of movements? He inched his way toward the pond and layed down in the tall grasses. Here he would blend in where he could still visit his friend, the moon.
