Hanafubuki School for Geisha Arts Purpose and History
The Hanafubuki School for the Geisha Arts is the offspring of a geisha school roleplay, the Silk Cherry Geisha School. Silk Cherry has inspired its teacher and several of its maiko to form a guild, Gion Baraen, and the geisha school has been moved indoors, to cater solely to its members.
The word Geisha is literary translated as "arts person" or "one trained in arts" (gei = art, sha = person). It is also sometimes defined as "women of arts", which is exactly what a Geisha is - a woman trained in the traditional arts of Japan such as dance, music, singing to name a few. --from the Silk Cherry thread
Layout
The school is a large square traditional Japanese-style house, set somewhere in the middle of Gion. It has two storeys, the lower level serving as the classrooms and the upper one as the teachers' quarters.
The center of the structure has a vast stone garden, at least vast enough for a large house in the middle of town, a zen garden as it is sometimes called. Almost all the classrooms open up to the center, though most of the sliding doors are closed. There is one Cha no yu, a tea "hut" or a small pavillion in the center, used solely for entertaining guests.

Rules, Requirements, and other Warnings
arrow Gaia TOS
arrow The character is not equal its player/author. Whatever the character does, does not neccessarily reflect the player's true personality. No bashing of RP skills, only constructive criticism.
arrow Since this is a school, questions and discussions are encouraged, and opinions will be respected.
arrow In the tradition of Silk Cherry, the expected roleplay here will be in semi-literate format, meaning the use of: "quotes" for talk *asterisks* for actions Italics for thoughts Of course those who want to RP in the usual novel format can do so, but it's not required, at least in this thread.
Don't let this hinder those who like to rp in paragraphs. Think of it more as an easy way to classify what you're doing in a post. Homework RP samples, though, will always be in novel-style.

*A geisha was standing at the entrance of the school, on hand carefully placed on the shoji door, allowing anyone to admire the lotus blossom pattern on the bottom of her purple kimono sleeve.*
"The school is ready, but I wonder what's taking the students so long..."
*She just stands there and decides to wait for a few more moments.*

Kiyora Soutou approached the school, and upon seeing Lotus at the door, she quickend her pace.
"Excuse me, Lotus-san? I am Kiyora Soutou, a maid fromt the Akiyama Okiya. Lucya-san asked me to give you this." She said, offering the note to her.
The note read:
Lotus-sama! I hope you will be so kind to accept two of Akiyama okiya geisha for one or two lessons to refresh their arts skills before they start working. I am sending to you Akiyama Kanoko and Akiyama Toneriko. Domo arigato gozaimasu, Akiyama Lucya

The sensei nodded after she read the note. Knowing that the students would be eager to start, she asked the maid to wait for her as she wrote a reply, saying that she will expect the two geisha.
After handing the note to Soutou, she was about to send her away, but thought of something. "Domo, Kiyora-kun. May I ask if your okiya has plans of making you into a geisha as well?" she asked politely.

"Me!?" She said blushing a bit. "Well I'm hardly-I mean I don't think... -I'm really far to clumsy to be a geisha..." She was mentally kicking herself for interupting her self so much.

She was mentally kicking herself for interupting her self so much. 'Definitely...not geisha material...for now...' "Alright, you may go. Please send my regards to Lucya-sensei." She had been so used to calling the other woman that, having trained under her for some time. Lotus shifted, and resumed her former position at the door.

She turned, and headed back to the Okiya.

*The teacher was presently practicing making tea at the small hut in the middle of the stone garden. She was not expecting guests, but more of her students.*
'I hope I get more enrollees...as I am a bit excited to teach...'
