If the fact that I'm publicly asking for prayers offends some of you, I can't really say I'm sorry. I'm a Christian and was taught to ask for prayers when something is going wrong.
My grandfather has cancer. We found out about it in May, 2007. He had surgery in June of 2007, but they closed him up instantly because there was nothing they could do and gave him two weeks to live. It is now August of 2008 and he is still alive, but just barely. The cancer looks like it has spread to his lungs, liver, kidneys, and lymph nodes. Now he can't get out of bed, and he's too weak for chemotherapy. He told Grandma and my dad that he thinks it's time to go.
I'm not asking for prayers to make the cancer go away. I'm asking for prayers of strength for my family. This is going to eat my dad alive, which is going to hurt my mom and little sister and me. I don't know how well Grandmother's going to take it. She's a very strong woman, but the death of a husband... I don't even want to imagine it.
Please, and thank you.

i would gladly pray for you and your family. cancer has taken a few of my family members too, and i know what it's like to go through it all. i hope you grandfather is a christian too, that way you all will have the comfort of knowing that he's going to a wonderful place and that you'll see him in heaven. if not, i will also pray for his salvation.

He went and had some tests run and a couple scans done yesterday to see where the cancer has spread, got home, and went to sleep. He wouldn't wake up for my parents when they got there, but everyone thinks it's because all the strain of walking and moving and such just drained him.
This is definately a bad thing. Two months ago he would go do chemo-therapy, come home, and be better than he was when he left.
I wish I had better news to report.
