National Worldwide Horse Shows The sights, sounds, smells and glory of winning a ribbon at the prestigous National Year-round Horse Show that starts in Vancouver and ends at P.E.I. The season begins at April and ends near the middle of October. Many times there have been champion horses called and blue ribbons handed out. This year will be no different.....or will it? That's for you to decide!!!

OPEN Friday Morning at exactly 7:30 was the time that Jo always got up ready to show her horse. She knew Kristina would sleep a little longer, and that wasn't a problem. Stretching as she got up, she went into the adjoining bathroom before taking a quick shower. When she finished showering, brushing her hair and teeth she headed into the bedroom again to get dressed. Putting on a pair of blue jeans and a Linkin Park shirt, along with some make-up she walked downstairs, greeted by her parents. "Morning Mum....Dad....." Jo sat down at the table, immediately grabbing a few apples, one for herself, and one for her horse. Taking a bite, she smiled at her father. "So Dad....what time are we leaving for the Regional Horse Show in Vancouver....?" Jolissa took another bite of the apple, wiping some juice away from her mouth. "Acutally.....you'll just be going this time with Kris sweetie....we have some other things to do this season....but we'll hope to have lots of pictures, letters and phone calls...." Her father said while putting down his newspaper. "So you mean.....I get to drive the truck?!" She said excitedly, looking back and forth between both her parents. "Yes, that's exactly what it means darling.....just remember what you were taught at the driving school....." Jolissa's mother said firmly before giving her daughter the keys to the truck and a kiss on the head.
After eating some breakfast and talking with her parents a bit, Jolissa headed outside to the pasture where her horse Going into the Distance, or just Distance for short, was grazing. "Hello girl.....come over here...." She said while holding her hand out with the apple for her, which made the mare trot over immediately. Smiling she fed Distance the apple before opening the gate to the pasture. "Alright girl....let's go get you cleaned up...." Jo said while grabbing Distance's halter and leading her back into the stables, putting her in the crossties, next to her stall.

Kristina drove into Jo's ranch, in her black truck, with a trailer attached to it in the back. Kristina and Jo where very good friends close to best friends. Seeing Jo going into the stable, leading Distance into the stable, Kris turned off her engine and jumped out of the truck closeing the door behind her and going over to the back of the trailer. Unlatching the trailer door, she let it dropp carefull of not to make a loud boom noise and walked to the side of Gotta Lotta Gold and throwing his black lead rope over his back. "Alright boy." Kris said backing out of the trailer and clicking her tounge, moving to the right side once she was outside. Kris clicked her tounge. "Okay boy, come....that's it....excelent!" Kristina said smiling grabing Gold's lead rope, once the stallion backed up out to the open. Gold looked around and let out a loud friendly whinny. Kristina smiled and closed the trailer door locking it, and starting to lead Gold towards the stables.

Jolissa heard the truck pull into the driveway and smiled as she walked out, making Distance whicker and snort in disappointment. "Hey Kris....are you excited for this season?" She said while giving her friend a hug. Upon seeing her stallion she smiled. "Wow.....he's lookin' great.....think he'll be named champion this year like the last?" Jo pet the stallion and he pranced slightly in excitement.

Kris smiled and hugged her friend back before pulling away. "Totaly excitened." Kris said smiling happily, excitement filling her eyes. "Maybe. I think Distance will take it home. You've been training really hard, and it'll all pay off." Kris said stroking Gold. Gold tossed his head and then nuzzled Jo and Kris.

Sighing she looked to Distance in the stables, who was pawing at the ground. "Well we'd better get a move on soon...." She then smiled before turning and heading back over to her horse and finished grooming her. Once she was ready which took about half an hour for each of them, necessities packed and everything, Jo went and put Distance in the trailer, shutting the door carefully, so as not to spook her. Then taking the keys out of her pocket, she went to the blue truck that her parents let her drive this time around and got into the driver's side. 'Oh my god....I can't believe I'm actually going to be driving this thing.....!!' Jolissa thought excitedly to herself while putting the key into ignition, starting it up.

Once Gold's coat was extreamly shiny and healty, no tangles what so ever in his mane, tail and forelock, she led the stallion into her trailer and shut the door, hoping into her truck. Kristina started her black truck up and pulled out of the parking space, her two hands on her the steering wheel, waiting for Jo, since she had no clue of where to go, she told Jo she would follow her.

Once Jo saw Kris get into her truck, she looked over to see her parents on the deck, smiling and waving. She waved back before beginning to back up, making sure to check herself so she wouldn't hit anything. Once clear, she then drove off, turning right. Smiling proudly to herself, she then quickly grabbed a cd from her bag and put it in the stereo, it blasting out to the tune of 'Get Off My Back' from the Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron soundtrack. Looking to her rearview mirror, she saw Kris's truck right behind her and smiled.
