I hate to beat a dead horse, but I worship Nightwish so I made this thread for people to rave about how awesome they are. Or the opposite..whatever, you know. Or just like talk about songs. I don't ******** know. Make with the discussion. dramallama

I don't know if I really think they're a ten.
I just love them because I identify so deeply with their lyrics.
It's kind of weird. Nightwish has helped me through my angsty adolescence because of how much their lyrics speak to me.
Songs like Elvenpath, Ocean Soul, Poet and the Pendulum, Wanderlust, Sacrament of Wilderness and all that good stuff. Basically the entirety of Dark Passion Play is a testament to my soul.

Nightwish was one of the first Gothic metal bands I heard, and they gave me a shove deeper into metal.
I still like them to this day too, they hold a special place in my music interests.

yes....nightwish is my absolute favorite band. i have a slight obsession XD
but their songs...they get me right through the heart. even with anette, her voice might be different but the lyrics and the instrumental parts are still as heartwrenching as usual.
and i love how in concert they seem so happy. i love how emppu is always running around and interacting with the crowd. its so awesome =D

As far as I can hear they're a rip off of alot of previous goth metal bands, but then again I've shunned them off so much as to not get a good listen in on all their s**t. But the s**t I have heard is just that, yeah, I'm looking at you "Seven days to the wolves". They try too hard and it comes out sounding really poser-ish, that and the fact that being a Twilight fan= being a Nightwish fan keeps me far, far away on a water tower with a Barret.

well, try listening to the old nightwish. it has a definitely more individual sound then the new stuff, even the lyrics are better. with anette it sounds totally mainstream. but with tarja, the old singer, they have a sound that is completely their own. (the only other band i know that sounds like them is operatika, and they came after nightwish i think).
and btw being a twilight fan does NOT equal being a nightwish fan. cant really stand them books..><

I like their folk songs a lot. The Islander and The Last of the Wild from the Dark Passion Play album are epic
