It had been quite a while since she had been afraid of traveling. That first day out on her own had been awful...and she had no clue what to do at all. Now, she was still afraid of traveling, just less so. After being forced to do some adventuring of her own, she had come to realize that though it was still awful, it wasn't nearly as bad as she had expected. She also realized, to her surprise, that she wouldn't mind traveling at all...providing she had someone to keep her company.
As to who that someone was, she wasn't very picky. She wasn't nearly as prim and proper as her darling sister. No, she wouldn't have been emotionally mangled by a one-night stand, and quite frankly, she wondered why Alyna was. Sure, she had carried foals because of it, but even that wasn't so terrible. Lyssa thought herself above such trivial, tiring emotions. Whatever happened, happened. And that was fine with her.
She was actually rather jealous of her sister. Her perfect sister, who could never do anything wrong. And she...the misfit that never seemed to please her parents. But now she was out on her own. And the only one who mattered anymore was her. There was a sad sort of gratification in that. Sad because Lyssa truly missed her family, but they were no longer there to disapprove, so that was a plus.
Regardless of all of that, Lyssa was alone, and starting to feel rather lonely. And she had never liked feeling alone.
