Given here is a quick summary of the events in each thread. The story will be updated as characters achieve significant milestones. Those will be the updates I'm giving.

But there's something far more interesting going on here as well. Those players who wish to do so may post entries from their character's point of view; their diary, so to speak. These posts will give not only a unique perspective of the action, but help develop the characteres as readers are given a look into their internal monologue.

Without further delay...the story thus far:

Lyonesse - the City of Kettawan
Typhen Frost, a high Elf from the world of Zu, has recently come into town via boat. Looking for work, he came upon a run-down potion shop owned by an elderly man named Dunferth and his son, Albert. Dunferth hired him to go into the forest and retrieve a special little flower called a Pinkling. Meanwhile, two Dryads watched the human world from the woods and guided Typhen to the Pinkling. Reluctant to part with it, however, the Dryad Calliope questioned his motives and followed him back to Dunferth's shop along with the other (disguised as a little Elven girl) Dryad, Lotus of the Blood Red Hollow. The group learned that Dunferth was trying to cure a sickness that had fallen over his wife that no doctor, healer or alchemist had been able to treat, let alone diagnose. Calliope, a skilled white mage in her own right, attempted to cast the sickness out only to discover the poor woman was under a deadly curse. Dunferth revealed that it was his mother, an old witch named Salifreya who had cursed his wife out of spite. He begged Typhen, Callie, and Lotus to go to Tortuga and ask the old witch to remove the curse and heal his beloved. The group agreed and made way to the inn to rest before departing the following morning.

A shady potions dealer named Domingo has been peddling his wares around town with much success. His flamboyant and disreputable tactics have gained the attention of several notable people...including more than a few criminal organizations. While the gifted "Nubian" performer Lillith Dantalion looks on, a Chimera by the name of Grubber's McSpooky (acting to prove himself to a mysterious organization and an inhuman entity called Prince of the Black Flame who requested that Grubbers find an item called the Battlestock) attempts to negotiate his way into the closed off wagon where Domingo resides. As Kaljar, a Drow assassin, attempts to sneak in to kill Domingo at the request of his vengeful employer, he is noticed by the guard who turn on both Grubbers (who is going by a false name) and Lillith, drawing their weapons and threatening violence.

Midgard - the City of Kithgarde
Thelassia Rel, an Elven archeologist, has joined up with the wandering warrior, Rolo the Walker, and a Dwarven guide named Yertch to explore a silver mine recently abandoned by the Rockholme Clan for fear of a curse. Apparently, the afflicted lost their minds, muttering incoherently about the worm gods of the deep caverns. Fearing no curse, the group descended into the mine only to find that someone had looted the offices and acquired the maps before they could reach them. Following a trail of blood uncovered by Yertch, the group was led to a large open cavern characterized by a pool of water and luminescent mushrooms...and a rather violent inhabitant; an insectoid creature known as a Scyll who blinded Rolo with a spit of black goo and attacked Rel.

Luckily for them, help just arrived in the form of Luscinia Avery, a Drow who joined up with a shady group of Dwarves who were also looking to explore the mine. They mistook her for someone else, acquiring her services to unlock a vault they had come across. As they traveled the mine, Luscinia heard faintly the sounds of struggle and abandoned the Dwarves only to find Rel and Rolo under attack by the Scyll. It's not like the Dwarves can open the vault without her anyway, right?

Nod - Charring Cross
The Mayor of Charring Cross has been missing for some time now. Since the Mayor is an extension of the city's magical soul, the town has slowly begun to crumble without him. Fortunately, a shoeless knight calling himself Evans the Twice Alive has just come into town. The dream-seer Ninny-Pooh asked for his help in finding the Mayor and the two made their way to the Mayor's mansion to look for clues. After finding a slip of paper with the address 652 Whompindale Drive written on it, they were attacked by a group of shadow beings who were quickly defeated. Just as the last one died, it injured Evans. A Zuvian mage by the name Rucien ibn Nahir showed up looking for the Mayor on a quest of his own and healed Evan's wound. Ninny-Pooh informed him of the Mayor's absence and Rucien joined the group, heading to the mysterious address. There they found an eccentric sword for hire named Ethan Cottle who had been hired by the Mayor as a bodyguard shortly before he vanished...Ethan had been waiting for him at the agreed upon address every day for two weeks. The group investigated the typewriter shop at 652 Whompingdale Drive, curious as to why the Mayor would want to meet here. Inside the building, they found a slip of parchment neatly laid upon a bare counter...

Tortuga - Buc's Den
It was a simple job. Deliver a letter from the pirate prince, Malak, to the sea-witch, Salifreya or "Sally One-Eye" as she was infamously known. Descending into the slum area known as the Rafts, Akor Teken'd, a Drow mercenary, was confronted by the sea witch who informed him of Malak's intent to capture her and use her ability to traffic with demons to become greater than his brothers, sisters, and even his father; King Kol. Shortly after her refusal to take the letter, Akor was accosted by two Taven, one who went into Salifreya's hut after her and the other who attacked him outright. After crushing his enemy's throat in his jaws, a greater detachment of pirates appeared and Salifreya emerged from her hut, apparently captured. The two were taken on board Malak's ship and Akor was tossed in the brig.

Akhila al Serq, a Misrahi from Ishtar, has recently come to Buc's Den looking for one last job before she leaves Tortuga for work elsewhere. Her contact was a woman named Weepa who led a small band of adventurers in purple bandanas. She informed Akhila that their goal was to rob the grave of another pirate who had betrayed them and taken something of value to her; a family compass.

Lockheed - Baldeau Company Mine
Wodo Marah came to the Baldeau Mine, the only settlement for miles, in search of a man called Desmond. After a strange encounter with a silent Drow child and his abusive step-father, Kee, she learned from the man that Desmond had indeed paid a visit to the town and that an Orc named Pit, the mine's Charter boss, might know where he is.

Marabolous - Fort Auster
Raza Gimba never wanted any trouble. But trouble found him. Though he was born and raised in the jungle, the Kindre had gained a taste for alcohol. At the bar, however, the reception of the townsfolk to the "wild beast" was less than kind. He was attacked outright by a man named Polan. The fight ended rather quickly as the town guard arrested Gimba and threw him in jail. After a few days in darkness, however, another occupant entered the cell; a young man named James. The duo escaped into the jungle through James' use of magic, returning to Gimba's roost. There, James explained that he and a troop of explorers had hired Polan as a guide through the jungle. They had come across an important ruin, but on their way back to town, Polan got them lost and ditched the group. James was the only survivor of the expedition and when he returned to Fort Auster, Polan had him arrested on false charges. James fears that Polan plans to raid the ruin, stealing away all archeological treasures and knowledge that can be gained from it.

Grubbers Journal ((If this is in the wrong spot go ahead and delete it.))
Entry 1

Explosions and the creak of wagon wheels marked my entrance to town this day. What a day it turned out to be too. I scared the ghost from a doorman, whom seemed to be guarding some sort of warehouse or soup kitchen. Not only that though, but I was greeted by another demon. Perhaps 5 in one lifetime counts for something? Regardless, by this point the simple town of kettledrum wasn't looking so bad, I mean as soon as this Battlestock thing was found a juicy reward and/or gracious followers may be assembled for little old Grubbers. With those things I can engage the next step of my diabolical, comical, plan. Pressing onward as the reader of my little written endeavor your no doubt questioning the only valuable information in this little book. Of course I mean all the details about me, the heroic protagonist. No worries my unseen friends, your in luck. Today and every time I log another chapter in this wretched primitive medium, I shall grace you with a deep inner thought rolling through the coffers of my skull. For example here is today's.
The quickest way to disgrace a Nubian (and for that matter a Chimera) is to mimic them shoddily and use trickery to captivate an audience.

Grr... Thoughts like these make me very angry, a deep boiling hatred not the simpering normal hatred. Act better, be original or get off the stage and allow a professional to do the dirty work.

P.S. This day needed 100% more bloodshed and or lifeless bodies.
P.P.S Remember to pick up a few things if you swing by the cemetery.

The Diary of Akhila al Serq

Note to self, never get involved with jobs including fish guts or dead bo(ink smudge) again. Seriously. I never smelled anything worse in my life. So not worth the pay. Well, the fish guts weren't, we'll have to see about the corpses. I haven't finished that job yet, so it might turn up something valuable. (watermark)t seems I should also learn to swim. I almost drowned on the way here, and even now, my shoes are uncomfortably soggy. It'll take ages for my shoes to dry out, and I haven't got another pair. Maybe I should head back to Ishtar long enough to dry them out.

Luscinia Avery's Journal
First Entry (probably written around the time she waited for Rel to recover):

When I came to Midgard, I honestly did not expect much at all. Perhaps I would've joined and/or watched a couple fights for entertainment, but it appears that I am never too far from my area of expertise. Though it is certainly to my benefit, I really have to wonder how inattentive the Dwarves must've been to mistake me for the one they really hired... Well, I got the know the whereabouts of a vault and free mead, so I certainly have nothing to complain about.

In the end, both groups after the same vault, my choice of company were either a bunch of greedy, inattentive Dwarves or... A giant human (who I suspect to be a strange Bosek in disguise) and a flying nymph. As much as I dislike the delicate flyboy, the latter group will be of more use and benefit for me.

NOTE TO SELF: Do not get on Rolo's bad side. If any hostility is shown, run immediately.
ADDITIONAL NTS: Despite the disadvantages it my bring in the future during break-ins, I have decided that it may be worthwhile to try to become taller.

A Letter Home

Dear Mom,

I'm in Nod now. I'll get straight to the point on why. I got his request from this mayor from a town called Charring Cross to be a body guard! I've all ready suited up and I'm about ready to head out to meet him, but I just wanted to send you a heads up on what's going on. So far, the landscapes weird, the cultures peculiar, and the people are just as strange. Its perfect. There's always something interesting to look at.

By the way, I'm doing well with my technique. I know its bad to hope for some bad guys to show up while I'm guarding the mayor, but it gets dull when you don't have anyone to fight for awhile.

Oh, and make sure you tell me how your new job is going. I still can hardly imagine you as a teacher. Make sure Russel gets to read this as well, I want to show him up a little. Tell me how's his political positioning is going and when the revolts start!

Your Son,
Ethan Cottle.

Riddle for the Week: You must keep this thing, its loss will affect your brothers. For once yours is lost, it will soon be lost by others.
