The facility was a buzz, technicians were moving everywhere trying to set up for the boy that was coming in. They had all sorts of IQ tests. From random puzzles to complex diagrams. As well a couple broken toys and more detailed equipment.

Of course a female technicians was awaiting as patiently as she could for the boy Slythor to show up. She chewed on her lower lip nervously. THe last time a child came in someone had gotten fired. She needed this job...she couldn't afford to be fired!

"Come on now, it's not so bad." Zephyr murmured quietly, holding a scaled hand in his own and walking quickly to the area where Slythor was to have his testing done. He wondered breifly if it wold be painful in any way. After all, here he was not dealing with the kind secretary from before, no, but the less-than-kind scientists.

Slythor simply wandered, following his father obediently. The first time he was back he bet a nice, kind man. However this time... was less nice. People looked at him odd as he walked by, as if there was something on his face. Finally the two arrived at a lady who looked to be the one they were supposed to meet. He hid behind his father cautiously, hooves ready to lash out at anyone. However the points were filed down, he was prepared to kill.

"Hello. I'm Zephyr and this is my son Slythor." He murmured quietly to the female technician. "Are you the person that is to lead Slythor to his skills class?"

The woman nodded her head briskly, it was apparant she was nervous as she fiddeled with the pen in her hand, trying to find a good place ot put it...and was failing.

"Uh...y..yes..well y ou will be..co..coming as well yes?" she inquired to the father figure as she glanced down at the one winged creature named Sylthor. She couldn't let herself be distracted no...she couldn't.

"W..we ..will..be te..testing...y..iour...sons...in..intelligence." She murmured as she turned around hoping the father would be coming with them. She knew of the demons here...and she didn't trust any of them.

Zephyr nodded and followed quite calmly. Of course, he would be nervous too, having to deal with kids she didn't know and had confusing DNA. One too many 'accidents' perhaps.

Slythor was equally worried, her nervousness put him off.

The woman turned quickly and hurried down the hallway. They past by several doors one that was heavilly secured with locks and barracades. Who knew what was on the other side of that particular door, but whatever it was, it was considered dangerous...or highly valuable.

THey soon came to a room where the door was wide opened, the woman stepped in looking around frantically and relaxing as she spotted another of her collegues.

"I..I brought the boy." She piped up the other technician..a male this time looked up and nodded his head.

"Good good..I have a couple of puzzels set up for the kid." He replied as he hurried away from a table. Upon it were several different puzles that were set up.

The first looked like a strange chess board. With two playing peices on it.

"Uh if we could begin then." The woman started clearnig her throat and moved over to the chess board.

"How many squares, of any size, can you find on this chess board which do not contain a Rook?" She asked as she gestured idly towards the board awaiting for Slythor to come up and answer.

Zephyr quietly waited. He was never good at puzzled, however Slythor seemed to love 'em. He simply watched his son think rather intensely, counting carefully. Most likely his son's pride self was on the line, after all who would want to look like an idiot? He sighed and pulled his son close, comforting him. In these emotionless white walls, even he felt stressed and he wasn;t even taking this test.

Slythor frowned, his 'little' bluebird seemingly looking like it was gazing just as intensely. He finally spoke out. "Is it one hundred twenty seven?" He asked patiently, a little worried his answer may be wrong. But he checked, and double checked, and di not want to check again for he hated numbers.

Nodding her head the woman checked off the correct symbol on her clipboard, the man who was also in the room hurried over to remove the board before moving a chart in front of the boy. The new puzzle had come to be.

"Below there are sixteen numbers. Assuming that any three of the numbers may be drawn at random, what are the chances that three numbers will be drawn whose sum equals six?"

1 2 3 1
2 3 1 2
3 1 2 3
1 2 3 1

The woman cleared her throat after asking the question. She looked agitated again. But these tests were crucial to discover the brain development in the kid.

Zephyr simply at beside Slythor, looking worried. Not even he really knew the answer to this question. He was never good at mathematics as a child. Seeing Slythor now made him worried. What would happen if he got wrong? Would Slythor hurt someone, something?

Slythor stared at the numbers, scaled fingers gently poking at each number as if mentally calculating. Then he looked up and spoke. "29%?" He asked with a degree of certainty in his voice. This one was easier compared to the chess question.

Joting the answer down the woman nodded her head. The actual answer was 28.6 % but if Slythor was rounding up then all was fine. He was just a child, they didn't expect him to know the exact percentage. She remained silent as a cha;kboard was brought out. Upon it was written a rather complex riddle.

Einstein's Riddle

There are 5 houses painted in different colors in a row on a street. In each house lives a person with a different nationality. The 5 owners each drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar, and keep a certain pet. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, nor drink the same beverage.

Hints:

* The Brit lives in the red house.
* The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
* The Dane drinks tea.
* The green house is on the left of the white house.
* The green house's owner drinks coffee.
* The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
* The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
* The person living in the center house drinks milk.
* The Norwegian lives in the leftmost house.
* The person who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
* The person who keeps the horse lives next to the person who smokes Dunhill.
* The owner who smokes Bluemasters drinks beer.
* The German smokes Prince.
* The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
* The person who smokes Blends has a neighbor who drinks water.

The person from what Nationality owns the fish?

It was a rather complex riddle but it was the last in the series of tests they were going to perform on Slythor.

Zephyr wondered about this new one. His child seemed to be doing quite well, he was proud of having such a son. In a few words, he could sum it up that he was glad to have a son like Slythor, and wrote this moment to memory.

Slythor frowned. "but there says nothing about a fish."

The technician gave a wavering smile at the young boy.

"Of course...the..the fish isn't mentioned cause if it was you would know who owned it. I..its a riddle. You..you have to figure out baised on the clues given who would be the one who would have a fish." She explained a nicely as she could.

Slythor pouted. He looked at the riddle quietly and shook his head. "I don't think anyone owns a fish because no one is mentioned of a fish. " He frowned. He didn;t like this riddle at all ever.

Scribbling it down the woman shook her head, it looked as if they had found a limit to the child's intelligence. Being stubborn. Sadly she turned and then took down a few more notes.

"Well now perhaps when you are older you will be able to figure it out. " She started as she then turned back to face them.

"That is all for now. We will update you on anything else.." she murmured.

Zephyr nodded with a smile and gently allowed Slythor to get up and hug him, apparently disliking this place for all its mysteries and secrets. Maybe one day the kid would become less afraid of this place, however he was slightly frightened as well.

Slythor frowned and hugged his father, not liking this place and wanting to be led away immediately.
