Donnie stood by a rock, the one he had told Maiya he would meet her at, and waited nervously. He was there early this time, since last time he was supposed to meet her he had been late. He wanted to make up for it. In his mouth he was holding some small golden flowers to give to her. He sighed as he tried to push away the memories of his nightmares. Everything that could possibly go wrong had indeed happened in them. And on top of that, he hadn't thought of anything for their story. Nothing at all, no scene, no characters, nothing. Only nightmares. He swallowed hard, fighting the images away. He closed his eyes and tried not to fidget while he waited.

Maiya headed off toward the rock Donnie said that he would meet her, carrying a couple pencils, erasers, and paper. Still, despite the prospect of drawing some beautiful scenes she was most excited about seeing Donnie. It was her first date, especially if you didn't count that one time she met a guy at the beach. The excitement building over this filled her with energy. Especially since Donnie was such a nice and smart guy. Cute too, she had to admit. Not that personality wasn't more important than looks.
Pretty soon she spotted Donnie, by the rock as he said he would. In his mouth were some golden flowers. Were those for her? Maiya waved as best she could, saying, "Hello Donnie!"

He almost dropped the flowers as he grinned when he saw her. He set them down gently in front of her and then answered, "Hey Maiya. These are for you..." Just being around her seemed to lighten his fears. He was greatly relieved by this, letting out a small sigh.
He noticed the pencils, erasers, and paper she was carrying. "Do you want me to help you carry some of that?" he offered, knowing she probably wouldn't want to carry that along with flowers, which he really hoped she would like...

Maiya took the flowers happily. "Thank you. They're beautiful." She really liked the color gold. She could tell that he was thinking of her when he picked them. At the offer of carrying some of her things, Maiya thought for a moment about what he could carry. "Sure! Would you like to carry the pencils?" She tended to get nervous about carrying both pencils and paper at the same time. She didn't want to make any accidental marks on the paper that would cause her to waste some eraser before she had even began drawing.

He grinned again, glad that she liked them. "Glad you like them..." he thought they were beautiful too, which was strange, he didn't usually notice little things like flowers and think they were beautiful. They were just a small piece of something larger. But they reminded him of her, which is why he picked them in the first place.
He took the pencils from her, lightening her load. Then turning his head to the right he pointed out a small path. "That path there," he said, "it should lead into some mountains."

"Okay," Maiya responded happily. She was glad Donnie knew where the mountains were from the clearing, because she had only ever visited them from Sara's home. That was back when she was a kit too, so there was a slight chance of getting lost. Slight, but possible. As she walked along the path, first making sure that Donnie was walking beside her, she said, "It's a really nice day out." Meaning that it didn't look like rain.

"Yeah," he said, smiling at her, and then looking around at the surroundings and the sky. "You picked a good day for a walk..." Keeping pace and walking beside her was easy, and he found himself liking being close to her. He was still a bit nervous, but he tried to keep the conversation going. "Have you been to the mountains before?"

"One time, when I was little," Maiya answered as she walked. The memory of the past was a happy one for the most part. "That was back when Namiah was beginning to get the chill of Winter. I was only a kit then, so I didn't think to bring some paper to draw the mountain. Good thing I forgot too, because it rained that day." Maiya laughed a little at this.

"Ah..." he nodded and laughed along with her. There was something contagious about that laugh. "Just as well then. But the mountains are very pretty during the winter, awfully cold though."

"Yeah, they are." Maiya walked for a moment without saying anything, the thoughts running through her head. It occured to her that not many of the new namrah she meets have been around during winter. Out of curiousity, she asked, "So when were you born? I was born November 28th."

"Really?" he asked, sounding a bit surprised. She happened to be only one day older than he was. It seemed strange that they were born so close together, yet they had never met until now. "I was born on November 29th," he told her, grinning.

"Wow! That means that we grew up around the same time. Funny how we never met..." she commented. Her thoughts turned toward her childhood, and all the kits she met. "Well maybe that's because I mostly hung around the kits in the club I was in. Club Panacea? Not sure if you ever heard of it." Little did she know that a sibling of his was in said Club.

He tried to remember back to when he was a kit, scraping his brain for any remembrance of 'Club Panacea.' Now that he thought about it, he mostly just kept to himself when he was younger, only having his imaginary friends for company. That was probably why he had never met Maiya before. "I remember one of my sisters talking about some club she was in once..." he said, resisting the urge to roll his eyes at the mention of his sisters. He never cared for anything they did. Especially some silly club they happened to join. He didn't say this to Maiya, for fear that it was the same club. "Probably not the same one though..." he thought out loud.

"Maybe not. What was this sister's name, anyway?" Maiya asked. She could see the slight irritation at the mention of his sister, though she was still curious. She wondered if he would think less of her if his sister and herself were in the same club. It was a little worrying, really. Granted the club wasn't really important (and Maiya fully recognized this), but if he thought less of her for a club then it would be horrible.

"Eidel," he replied. "Well, Eidel and Nessarose. Though, I hardly ever see Nessa at all." He really didn't see much of his family at all, especially nowadays. When he did, it was either Eidel, his mother, or his grandmother. He looked at Maiya curiously now that he had given her his sisters names, wondering if she would recognize them. It was quite possible, given that they were the same age, and his sisters were quite more sociable than he had been. Especially Eidel...
((Aww! Donnie wouldn't think less of her!! He just thinks his sisters are really annoying! XP Well, mainly just Eidel XD))
