Reese didn't like being at D-Corp. The last time he'd been here, he'd gotten a nasty shot which had hurt and left him feeling cranky and weird all day. So when Wilbur had said they needed to go back, he was less than pleased. But there he was, none the less. A tech had taken the other man off into a room, to talk "business".
Which meant it had something to do with Poppa. Reese was starting to pick up on all the code words. When a phone call came in for Edge and Wilbur said it was "business", it usually meant Poppa would be out to all odd hours of the night working again. Sometimes it would last a few days, sometimes weeks...either way, Reese hated it when grownups talked "business".
He sat in one of the many waiting rooms, flipping through one of his dragon books. He was getting bored. They'd been in there for over an hour, if he was looking at the clock right. The seahorse boy gave a heavy sigh, looking out the door. It's not like he was in a dangerous place...it was D-Corp after all.
So, taking another look at the office...Reese rolled himself out. Take a left, down the hall...and another left, followed by a right. This was easy, the floors where nice and smooth and it was cake to roll himself along. No one even tried to stop him...the techs paid him no mind as they passed, assuming he was just one of the many children who resided at the facility.
Reese liked this.

Kuyoja was walking through the hallway, treading softly holding the hand of a little girl who looked wide eye'd in fear at everything around her. Kuyoja was trying to get her accustomed to moving about the facility, at least she knew this place...having been there for a large majority of her life but she still seemed timid. He didn't know what he would do if he had to take her outside the facility. He dreaded the thought.
Having finally earned the girls trust after the fateful visit with Ligeia, he didn't quite feel so unsure of himself and his parenting methods. Though he had yet to give her a bath.... and she didn't like it much when he tried to comb her hair.
Saedah looked around nervously...there shouldn't be anything to be afriad of...she knew this place...but there were so many people moving about. Clutching her pillow to her chest she peered around cautiously meeping as she spotted some weird contraption containing a small boy. Pressing herself to Kuyoja's leg she refused to move as she coiled about him.
Kuyoja stopped as he suddenly found a small snake girl wrapped around one of his legs. It wasn't that he was unable to move...he surely could keep on moving dragging the girl wrapped around his leg if he so wished. But...he had learned that when she did this...it meant something had spooked her. Looking around the only thing he could spot was a boy in a wheelchair. He looked down to Saedah placing a hand on top of her head gently.
"Nothing to fear. Did you want to meet him?" He asked in a soft tone.
The small girl shook her head feverishly, no she did NOT want to meet him. She wanted to go back to their small apartment.
"Come now, you liked Ligeia...you may like this boy too..." He urged as he wanted her to get use to meeting people.
Saedah looked up blinking her large eyes at him. "Gweeaaa.." She murmured she did like him, but...even as she peered at the boy again she hid her face in Kuyoja's leg. "Hnnnhhnn no...geewaaa..." She mewled. Apparently she only wanted to see him...
Kuyoja patiently waited for her to stop fidgeting, "Come now...if I hold you...? WIll you meet the boy? I am sure he is nice." Kuyoja wasn't use to having to speak in such manners...he found it awkward, but certainly more effective than his normal tones when he was dealing with her.
Saedah shook her head again but found herself being picked up anyway. She wrapped herself best she could around his chest and clung to him. Pressing her face into his chest as she found herself being moved towards the scary thing and the boy in it.
Kuyoja moved up to the boy quietly, he noticed he looked bored as well took note that he hadn't taught this boy any classes. "Hello." He spoke to him his voice soft as he had gotten use to using soft tones around Saedah.

Reese's head snapped around when he realized he'd been spoken too, his hair landing all over his face. His eyes were wide, inspecting behind his bangs, and quickly a great big smile spread across his mouth. New person! New person with kid! Pretty little thing, she looked like Ter...but pretty. Like a candy cane! He loved candy canes!
"Hi!" he said cheerily, waving his hand around. "My name'th Reethe, who're you?"
Oblivious much? He had no clue that the smaller girl was terrified, and mistook her clinging to the man as a special bond. Like how Poppa used to carry him around before he got so big. With one hand holding a wheel still, he'd turn himself to look at man and child...his tail curling happily around a foot rest.

The reaction he got probably wasn't the best one he could receive. The little pink headed girl gave a small meep before she buried her face into Kuyoja's chest. Her eyes shut tight she shook her head back and forth making little pathetic sounds of protest. The boy was loud. Loud and the thing he was in was scary.
Kuyoja reached a hand up to cup her head, to try and still its frantic moves as well calm her down. He looked Reese over knowing that that boy didn't mean to scare her...not as if it was a hard thing to do. "Hello Reese. This is Saedah." He replied giving a small gesture to the girl in his arms. "Don't mind her...she is just shy." He added before looking down at her. "Come now Saedah, say hello to the boy." He encouraged though it sounded more like an instruction.
Saedah shook her head furiously. She didn't want to say hello, she wanted to go back to their room!
Kuyoja gave a slow exhalation of breath before he looked down at Reese again. "Would you mind if I sit her in your chair?" He inquired thinking that the best way to work this was to shower her there was nothing to be scared of.

(( You enjoy giving him words he can't say properly. Hahaha. But then again so do I. }:3 ))
Reese's brows furrowed deeply and he puffed air into his cheeks. Had he scared her? He hadn't meant to scare her! He was just being friendly. He wrinkled his nose as he slowly pushed the air out through his lips, making a small whoosh noise. He slumped in his chair, looking up at the pair with very apologetic eyes. She was kinda like that other seahorse girl he'd met before. She'd been shy too. He'd have to use his quiet voice if she was shy.
"I'm thorry, Thaedah...I didn't mean to thcare her," he said to the father figure type person. "I'm won't be loud anymore."
He perked though and slid over in his chair, once a little too big for him, when he was asked. He found he fit in it just right these days. Never mind his father telling him that he'd grow into - and out of - it eventually.
"Thee can thit," was the answer with a smile. "You can thit with me, Thaedah. It'th jutht my wheelchair. I uthe it to get around." He patted the spot next to him, still smiling.

((*giggles* of course))
Kuyoja hushed his daughter as he went to sit her in Reese's wheel chair. Tough love was one word for it, he was just trying to get her use to people. If that got better than at least he could get her use to other things. He could tell by how firmly she was gripping and how her coils were wrapped around him that she wasn't going to make this easy.
"Come now Saedah, the boy isn't going to hurt you. He just wants to say hello." He murmured softly in her ear to coax her into letting go. BUt it wasn't working. So he instead firmly began uncoiling her around his waist. Saedah was whimpering little sobs catching in her throat. He felt terrible but this was for the best. Once unraveled he placed the pink haired girl in the boys seat.
Saedah wasn't liking this one bit, but as she found herself sitting beside the strange boy she wasn't sure if she were more afriad of him or the strange contraption she had been placed to sit in. It helped that the boy wasn't speaking loudly anymore.
So that fact placed him in the not quite so scary catagory and thusly she latched herself to him.
"Scawwry thing.." she murmured her eyes wide as she looked at what they were sitting in. She sniffeled as Reese explained he used it to get around, she didn't understand what he meant. Looking down at his strange coils she assumed he could move like she did.
"Mowuuv?" She inquired still clutching the boy feircly.

(( Good god, this is the cutest picture in my head ever! -squeeee- Oh man, too cute! I can see older Reese given Saedah rides in his chair all the time! <3<3<3 ))
Reese blinked curiously as he watched the man try to pry the little girl off of his side. He'd try coaxing her lightly also, following the adult's lead, hoping that he could help.
"Come on, Thaedah...there'th nothing to be afraid of. My wheelchair won't hurt you...*GULP*"
He suddenly found himself being clung to. Well, that was new! Usually he was the one doing the latching. Man, is this what it felt like when he used to ride on his father's hip? He hoped he hadn't squeezed this hard; that could hurt after a while!
"Y...y-yeah," he said very slowly, his free arm patting the corresponding wheel on his chair. "My tail doethn't move the thame way your'th doeth. I need thith to get around."
"It'th not thcary. It'th jutht a chair...it can't hurt you," he tried to explain as gently as he could, making sure he kept using his quiet voice. At least she wasn't crying anymore.
"Do you wanna go for a ride witth me?" Maybe a short ride would show her it was safe?

Saedah looked up at Reese tears gathering in her big eyes. How sad! The boy couldn't move? Was his tail broken? She hugged him again this time a warming hug rather than a I am clinging to you sort of hug. When the subject of going for a 'ride' popped up she shook her head not wanting the thing to move...but then slowly and sheepishly nodded her head.
It was habit of hers to always say no first. But she realized that...if Reese used this thing to get around...it couldn't possibly be that scary. Still she continued to cling to him for good measure.
"...mwove... Saedaw weady." She murmured trying to be crave.
Kuyoja watched like a silent gaurdian, he needed Saedah to confront her problems and fears not just keep hiding from them. he was happy to see that she was actually trying to be brave for the boy.

Reese smiled some as he was hugged, thankfully not nearly as tight, and he squeezed her back gently. She sure was a funny thing...first she was scared of him, now she was hugging him. She didn't want to go, now she did. Ah well...girls where funny things.
"Ok. Lemme get the other thide." It was a little awkward, having to reach around her for the other wheel, but he managed. The way they ended up was with Saedah almost on Reese's lap.
"Hold on," he gently encouraged...pushing hard on the wheels. Yet they only shifted forward, as Reese hadn't thought about the extra weight of the girl making it harder to move. He snuffed through his nose, making a frustrated face.
"One more try," he muttered. He was strong, he could do this! He set his arms forward, pushing as hard as he could manage. They started to go, but barely. It was probably going to take an extra hand from Kuyoja to get them really rolling.

Kuyoja watched as Reese tried his best to get his wheelchair moving it didn't take him long to cue in that the boy would need help as he moved to come up from behind to give a firm yet gentle push on the handles. He would push for as long as the boy would let him. It would be tiring to be pushing not only his weight but Saedah's as well.
Saedah's eyes widened as she felt them move. It was a strange feeling she clutched onto Reese a bit harder but relaxed visibly as she realized it wasn't nearly as scary as she thought it would be. She still hung on though the fear of slipping off was now her primary drive.
"Ju...move dis way? All time?" She asked looking at Reese with a tinge of pink on her cheeks.

Reese blinked as it suddenly became much easier to push...glancing back, he'd smile when he noticed the teacher lending a helping hand.
"Thankth," he said with a grateful nod.
It was really up to Kuyoja as to how far he pushed and where they went. Reese was pretty sure that now they were going, he'd be okay pushing them around...but right now he was more able to focus on talking with Saedah.
"Yeah, all the time," Reese answered the little girl's question, patting the chair almost affectionately. "My poppa got it for me. Thith ith actually my thecond one...I outgrew the other one."
Forget the fact that at the time he denied needing the bigger chair; after all, it fit him now, yes? Honestly, soon it would probably start being almost too small for him. He absently wondered how many times he'd have to upgrade his chair.
"Why're you tho thcared of everything?" It was a sudden, blunt question. One he wasn't really sure she'd understand...after all, she was a lot younger than he was. "The world ithn't tho bad."

Saedah looked over Reese a moment her large eyes blinking slowly at him, why was she afriad? It was a good question but being as young as she was she wasn't sure how to explain.
"Big noises...scawy people..." She murmured in reply although it didn't really answer his question. She didn't like loud sounds they tended to make her jump and meeting new people made a funny feeling build up in her chest...it got harder to breath, and in a sense she suffered from anxiety attacks. She held onto Reese burrowing her face into his side, she didn't mind the wheelchair. In fact it was kinda neat now that she had gotten use to it.
"You not fwaid?" she asked in turn.
Kuyoja didn't mind pushing the chair at all, in fact he was just pleased to see his daugther actually iteracting with someone and asking questions and generally not being afriad as much. He pushed the wheelchair along slowly so that he could allow them lots of time to talk.

Anxiety? What was that? Reese wouldn't have known the word. Maybe the only thing he felt anxiety about was falling out of his chair...and even then, that was as it was happening to him, so it really doesn't count.
"Nothing to be afraid of," he replied simply to her question, lightly patting her shoulder. "Poppa taketh care of me and tho doeth Baka-Wilbur. Thee too."
"What thcary people?" he questioned, wondering who would be so mean as to scare poor Saedah. Why would anyone frighten such a cute little girl? That didn't sound right to him at all.

Saedah struggeled to figure out how to explain the feelings she felt. It wasn't that there were scary people scaring her..meetnig new people scared her. Didn't matter who it was.
"stwangers...scawre me." She explained best she could, she blinked as her mention a poppa and she didn't know what a baka wilbur was...or a thee for that matter. But she listened her large maroon eyes gazing up at him questioningly.
SHe hugged him more, he wasn't afriad and she admired him for it.
"Weese strong?" Kuyoja remained silent as he allowed the girl and boy to talk. He liked that Saedah was talking about things with Reese. It helped him understand her a bit better as well.

Reese listened to her...feeling a little pinched from her hug, but he wouldn't mention it. It seemed to make her feel better, and he wasn't about to make her feel scared or uncomfortable. This was a new friend, and he wanted to keep all his friends close.
He pondered what she said, though, and wrinkled his nose as he thought. Strangers were scary, huh? Reese couldn't remember a time he'd ever been afraid of meeting new people. Then again, all the new people he'd met had been friendly, nice people. People who had become his friends.
"Thrangerth are jutht friendth you haven't met yet," he said, sounding a little wise for his age.
It probably worried Edge that Reese was entirely too friendly for his own good...but then again, the boy was rarely alone. Who could kidnap him when he was always with someone?
"Courthe I'm throng," Reese boasted a bit, puffing out his chest. "I can do anything I thet my mind too." Poppa told him all the time, but it had been Cody to show him it was true.
"Thaedah throng too," Reese encouraged with a smile, playfully poking her side.
