NOTE: This will contain spoilers. These will be whited out, but you get fair warning.

So don't say you don't. ^.^

I admit, I really used to hate Schneizel, with a passion. A burning, loathing, can't I end him passion. You know the kind, I'm sure. I thought h was a brat, albeit a smart, clever brat who was evil and just wanted the throne so he could sit on it and grin. And although little changed my mind, R2's episode 20 changed my mind drastically.
Sure, he didn't end up joining Lelouch and trying to stop the Emperor, but he did say that the Emperor had done nothing but watch the war and do nothing to stop it, and that he called Area 11's battle a 'trifling matter'. So, I was impressed. And when Lelouch was captured, and Schneizel said he'd mediate for him and the Emperor, I now realize he may not be so bad. So, now I ask:

Do you think he's a brat, or not so bad?

Well I don't know..
I still hate him a bit I guess, if the series reveal more about him then I guess I could reconsider but for now I'm not so sure. Truthfully to say I thought he was okay at the beginning but now I think of him as an idiot, not as much as Nina.. Nina is rank one for the dumbest, stupidest, retarded person alive on Anime. =)

I've always liked Schneizel ever since he appeared.

I don't know why.... I still like him to some extent.

Schneizel is okay, but I didn't like how he gave the Black Knights information about the Geass, presenting them only half the truth. That made me hate him for a little while. Even worse because the Order was too 'omgwtf nooooo Zero!' to think straight.

I agree, ep. 20 of R2 made me ponder whether I like him or not. I don't really know anymore, so to me, he's now just an "ehhh" kind of character.

I don't see how he only brought them half of the truth?

Well, everything was fine until he said there was a chance that he was under control of the Geass which is untrue, because the people that are have memory lapses.

If he told them everything, then they'd be like "Oh, okay. He can only use his Geass once. And since being affected by Geass gives people a memory lapse, and I haven't experienced one, then I'm okay. That means I'm probably fighting for Zero on my own free will, meaning he must be a good side!!"
Instead, Schniezel is all like "Let's make them THINK they've been affected, making them doubt their loyalty and Zero's 'trust'."...?
Schniezel wanted the Black Knights to turn on Zero, and telling half of the truth gets that done. neutral

Moomoo and This world: YES! I'M NOT ALONE! *evilcackle*

And sure, he did trick the Black Knights, but that DID stop the fights over Area 11 (I think), so that did save lives. And who knows? He might use the Black Knights to help overthrow the Emperor, like Lelouch planned.
Hey, it could happen.

Is it possible that he just doesn't KNOW?
Also, they did give them a list of those the believed had been effected by geass. I don't recall any of those people NOT having geassed used on them, so I don't see how he lied.

It seems to me that Schneizel actually doesn't know enough about how the geass works. And his father sure isn't going to tell him. And it didn't look like Suzaku was spilling any secrets either.

I think, by saying 'it's possible I'm under geass, too' he was just warning them how powerful this thing is. For all he knows, he could've been under the influence of Geass while Lelouch was still living with them. Like alot of other people, he just doesn't know enough about it.
Sure, he may have used that warning to his own benefit, but I don't think he was just telling half-truths.

And to prove my point further, Cornelia isn't on the list they gave. Meaning they don't know she was under geass for a time. Proving that it's possible to have been effected by geass without a noticable lapse in memory.

I call him Schniz for short cuz I always forget how to spell out his name.

Opinion-wise, I see him as the character that wants to end things quickly just for his conveniences. Like the latest episode of R2, #20.

First instance: He claimed that Lelouch was the only man he "looked up to & feared"

He already had the mindset that Lelouch would always be in his way.

Second instance: He now wants to snatch the title of Emperor just because he knows his father won't need it anymore. "Politics & wars are just a game for him"

I don't like him on the fact that his personality screams to end the anime series quicker.

But ending an anime series quicker isn't a bad thing. A lot of series go wrong by continuing for too long...
