This was brought up in my Church service today, Christianity today has become so watered down, it's almost no longer the same religion. It is not true that you can live your life however, ask "Hey God, Sorry about that, will you forgive me?" then go on and keep acting in that way. Most people today think this is true, and they'll go to Heaven, but they won't.
My question here is, how do we stop this cycle in ours and others' lives?

I think it would help to first have this brought to people's attentions (like you did here), and then for people to realize that there may be some necessity for improvement in their lives and their relationship with Christ.
But a relationship with God is like a relationship with anyone. It requires effort, that we talk to Him, meet with Him, and offer what we can to reciprocate everything He's done for us. If these things are being done, then usually people aren't just living how they want- they're living how God wants, because that's the only way we can reciprocate what He's done. At the same time, people who are new to having a relationship with Him may not realize this. Sometimes it takes years to get it right, and even then, it's not perfect- not for anyone. Every person "lives how they want" to some extent, because we're human, and we're sinful. It's the effort that we put into not doing that, that sets us apart.

That is, we say we're Christian but continue to live like the rest of the world. Christians are called to live a life apart. Correct me if I'm wrong in what you're saying, though.

Most of us act like atheiests[sp?] with no care in the world to what God thinks of us.

I think that would be agnostics, not atheists. Atheists denounce religion; agnostics don't care.

Most of us act like atheiests[sp?] with no care in the world to what God thinks of us. First, it is somewhat awkward to compare living as a Christian to living as an atheist. Atheists can be (and usually are) just as moral as Christians. The only set difference between atheists and Christians is the devotion to God. Second, I really have not seen anything of the sort. When it comes to morality, I cannot tell any real difference between now and a decade ago. There does seem to be less blatant evangelism, but considering how things went with the absurdity of 1980s evangelism, that is probably for the better.

To clarify, I'm not saying that Christians are moral and atheists are immoral; I'm saying that individuals from both parties gleam their morality from different sources and have different motivators for their behaviour.zz1000zz Second, I really have not seen anything of the sort. freelance lover I know plenty of athiests who don't care. The only qualification is not believing in God, and many Christians live as though they don't. A sad truth, that end part there. Or, they live like they believe in God, but do anything they want because they think all they have to do is say 'Hey, God... sorry man.' Someone needs to tell them that forgiveness comes from repentance, and TRYING not to do that all again.
