The Tavern By The Oak South of Barton West Field lies the trenches. Pass the rocky roads of Barton Trench lies a great forest not entered by many Humans. The great forest, deep with memories and secrets. The trees grow high, strong, and as far as the eye can see. What seems to be a labrinth of trees, grass, and bushes lies a Tavern off the beaten path not pointed by any signs.
The Tavern, old yet inviting sits by the river accompanied by a great stream falling from the cliff's top and an old Oak tree. A sign: reads: "The Tavern By The Oak" back and forth it swings, blown by the passing wind.
You wonder where this tavern gets it's name and your eyes adjusted to the passing sun rays...the tavern seems to be coming out from the trunk of the Oak.
You noticed the tracks leading into, out of, and around the tavern. An inviting sign to many travelers and adventurers. The Tavern's barA double door opens into the Tavern By The Oak, with wooden beams and leaves falling down from the Oak itself. Rounds of tables and chairs are spread out around the tavern. Used candles sits on each table accompanied by small wooden salt and pepper shakes.
The bar itself lies straight ahead pass the eight round tables. Wooden stools sits alone by the long stretching bar. Above, glasses and pints hang for the host to easily serve their patrons.
Walls and walls of beverages idles on the shelves waiting to be drunk. Colorful potions sits locked up by the window behind the bar...with a red crossed sign in front of it. A great fire cooks food behind the bar, pots and sticks lay next to it.
A second level leads up into the branches of the oak. It looks like rooms but not sure whether they are for the patrons.
A room lies immediately right of the bar. A sign hangs... "Do Not Enter" and below the sign engraved on the door it looks like... The Ga...Tme...Joonali... the words are worn out and can not be read.ooc: I'm still trying to figure out the layout of the place...however feel free ^O^

An odd large green man sat asleep in the corner of the bar, several chicken legs lay in his lap and around him, partenered by many mugs that used to contain the darkest beer. He smelled. Horribly.
No one was quite sure what to do when this thing first showed up, but he kept his peace and earned his keep by washing the dishes whenever he wasnt sleeping off a hang over.

tall elf with long braided red hair, and bow slung over shoulder walks catiously into tavern. Orders glass of sparkling spring water and a basket of berries, green and mushrooms. Looks around for a while and and then asks the elf with the diamond pin if she and her companion squirrel may have the pleasure or joining her.

"You are more than welcome, what brings you here this evening?" offers the squirrel some of her bread.

"Thank you. *squirrel munches bread* I was just wandering, as we rangers are apt to do, and came upon this tavern. A bed would be a welcome change from the branches of a tree. Although I appreciate their hospitality greatly, one's back does get sore after a while." the elf flahes a warm smile, and feeds the squirrel a berry from her plate. "but what about you my friend? what brings you here? Is there any news?" she leans forward, obviously more interested in what you have to say than her own exploits. The squirrel scampers down her arm to sit on the table, and the ranger elf strokes its fur absently.

*smiles and pets the squirrel, "Oh nothing much I thought I would come down here for a bit of a change. The palace can be a bit formal sometimes and I wanted to see some new faces. The farmers in the kingdom expect a pretty good harvest this year and it is peaceful as per usual." (this is my more formal version of Elspeth on gaia, the princess of mirlanthir)

"Oh! It's an honour to meet you, your highness." *inclines head respectfully but doesn't seem to change her manner *squirrel snuggles closer and chatters happily "seems that fernesce likes you... not surprising, he'll suck up to anyone who gives him food" *smiles again "i can see why they would expect a good harvest, with all the rain we have been getting" *flicks knowing glance at fernece the squirrel

*squirrel sniffs ball, bats it around experimentally, then it rolls off the table and he goes after it, chittering excitedly. *laughs and looks after squirrel fondly. "that's why he's called rustling fern, never could sit still... so, do you come here often? This is my first time here, though it looks like a nice place, I will make a note to stop by here when I'm in the area." *sips water and sighs contentedly. "I have to admit, I'm curious, what's life like in the palace? Not every day that you get to meet a princess!" *squirrel (who is back now) squeaks something that sounds almost like it is talking, and the elf looks at it warningly.

"I do come now and then I like the atmosphere as a change. Palace life is fairly peaceful but there are alot of things we have to do as royal duties now and then. I do love the view from the palace overlooking the waterfalls."
