[PRP]A Alchemist and a Flutter (Edward and Feena) Sat Jun 02, 2007 9:40 pm Shikon Miko The rushing waters of the river were next to him as he lay beside it. The spray from the water was hitting Ed’s back, and the sun was hot above him. So hot in fact, he contemplated moving underneath a tree in the shade. Pondering, he slowly got up. The shade was calling him, and it just looked so inviting. Walking, he went to the largest tree, and laid down. Oh yes, wondrous shade. Such a peaceful day, and the perfect time to take a little nap. Rein_Carnation  Pint sized and ready for the new day a little spirited foal bounded out into the sun's fresh rays. She smiled with a flick of her tail as her wings shimmered emerald with a vast sparkling all over the ground. Trotting away from her mother's vigil she decided to go exploring.
So much to see and do in the world it was so amazing to her. Anything moved by a breeze, a bird flying past, everything was simply amazing in a child's guise.
Walking about she sniffed the air tossing her head here and there letting the long hair shift back and forth. Blinking she caught something red in her gaze for a moment. What could it be she wondered. So with as much curiousity that she could muster, the little flutter headed over to see what it was.Shikon Miko A slight breeze made the trees and grass blow, the grass in particular tickled him. Ed’s thoughts were clouded; sleep wishing to take over his mind. He was nodding off when he saw something green. At first he thought it to be a bush or a small tree and as it moved closer, and seeing as trees and bushes can’t move, he knew it was neither. He tried opening his eyes a little more, but found he was unable to. When did he get so tired.
Shaking his hair, braid moving onto his right shoulder, he looked up again, to find that it wasn’t even a foot away. Rein_Carnation She blinked quite curiously at this red shape that had formed into a large stallion of a soquili type. So that's what that red thing was. Giggling she swished her puff of a tail tilting her head to look at him. Even as an adult her size could never match the great stallion lying in a daze before her.
She was still learning things about the world, though usually at a glance through her mother's firm watch over her. Feena already knew she was adopted yet looked to Saissis as her rightful mother anyway.
Still watching him she smiled, "Whatcha doing there"she queried with a flit of her large (well large on her that is) beautiful wings. He was interesting at the moment so she dedicated her full attention to why he was there. Shikon Miko Ed looked up from where he was laying and blinked his eyes several times to get them o see clearly. Was it just him, or did this little Soquili have wings?
But they were a pretty color, emerald green he would say and they were sparkly. He couldn’t help but stare at them, and then he looked at the rest of the young one. “I was just laying down I guess. Who are you?” He questioned, and waited for her response. Rein_Carnation She blinked and nodded her head politely with her reponse, "I'm Feena. Say how come you don't have any wings/" she asked as her little neck craned outward to notice his back. Except for hewr mother and her, she'd only known what a flutter looked like. It would be amazing when her half sisters and father with the long graceful wings finally said hello.
"Laying down... hmm you sleepy?" she smiled still tilting her head, "Why you wear funny cloths, and oh what's that on your back? Its neat looking."
Her eyes shimmered with questions just overflowing like a great waterfall. Not only was he bigger, had no wings, and had this strange cloth with a cool symbol. Life was looking like lots of fun. Shikon Miko He stared at her, so many questions. “I’m Ed, I don’t have wings because I just don’t was born without them. My clothes are not funny, they are comfortable. An alchemy symbol is the thing on my coat. And I am sleepy; I just didn’t think I was this sleepy.”
He thought he had answered all of her questions, but by the looks of it, she had a million more to ask. She was the first Soquili he had the pleasure of meeting, and she had wings. How cool was that. “Why do you have wings?” Now he was brimming with questions. Rein_Carnation She beamed at the rapid fire of a thousand answers and giggled to no end. He was quite entertaining as she stood there tilting her head with that wide smile upon her face.
"Ah okies... What's alceh.. me? And okay its comfortable. Clothes.. hmm is that like what's in my hair? Sleepy... you been up a long time?" she queried with her little shining eyes.
Then she stopped and looked at his back again. "Born without wings.... I was born with these wings. Mama says I'm a flutter. She's a flutter too" she nodded preening herself feeling quite proudly, "My wings are much bigger though. Still wierd you don't got any."
She swayed back and forth like Saissis usually did, but usually she had to lift her feet up to keep her balance. It reather ooked quite comical to one that didn't know what she was trying to attempt. Shikon Miko Ed watched as she kept swaying. She looked rather odd doing so. “An alchemist is someone that can do alchemy. And I am not a flutter, so therefore don’t have wings. And you have some cloth in your hair so you are wearing some clothing I suppose.”
It was getting hotter out, and the breeze was light, and the shade wasn’t doing much anymore. “I haven’t been up that long, it could possibly be that I am simply tired or maybe the heat is getting to me.” He was still lying down, but now he was thinking that a drink from the river might be refreshing. Rein_Carnation She studied him as her jade necklace swayed back and forth. Pondering things she was quick to anser and quick to question anything really, as long as it piqued her curiousity and interest when she did so.
"Alche... my" she repeated still trying her best though the word seemed a bit out of her reach, "How do you do alch..my? Is it magical? Is it pretty?"
She beamed shaking her head as her long tresses eveloped in the cloth fastners danced about merrily.
"Hey its getting hot out. Are you thirsty? Maybe that will wake you up. A nice cold drink" she mentioned flitting her wings as she spoke. A good romp in the water would be refreshing as well. Shikon Miko He pondered this and started to rise. “Now that you mention, I am quite thirsty. Anyways, alchemy is, well I guess you can say that it is magic. It’s when you transmute something into something else. And I suppose it’s pretty; there is usually a blue light or something.”
As he was talking, he had moved from under the shade of the tree and closer to the water. Reaching the edge, he leaned down to take a gulp of the freezing water. Rein_Carnation "Yey" she exclaimed bounding toward the water with a great ...SPLASH.
Shaking her head back and forth she sprayed excess water all over the place. Droplets still sitting on her wings glowed a pretty green as if they were designed that way.
Dunking her head directly in the water she gulped heavily letting the coolness quech her parched throat. Pulling herself back to the air she stood momentarily dripping wet before she randomly shook the water from herself again. Like a water nymph shining in the water she shimmered with the flitting of her translucent emerald wings.
Turning back to him she took a deep breath, "Are ya awake now? I want to know more of this Alchemy stuff. Pretty magic and blue colors sounds really neat" she giggled watching him intently. Shikon Miko His eye was twitching, he could just feel it. Now he was sopping wet, and she was giggling, probably because she knew she did it. “Oh yes, I am very awake, and now, very wet.” He shook himself of what water he could, but it did not make much of a difference. He would now have to lie in the sun and dry. Moving away from the water he laid down again, the sun shining on him, drying him slowly. “I guess I can talk some more about it, even though you got me soaked.” Rein_Carnation Her cherry little expression melted into a somber frown that drooped her wings slowly. In her playtime she never thought she'd be so careless and upset this wonderful soquili that would teach her things like what alchemy did.
"Ooh I'm sorry. I guess I just didn't think what would happen when I splashed in the water. Please don't be cross with me".
She stood there like a scolded puppy still in the stream with her wings soaked frowning. Stepping away a bit she shook the rest of the water off and flitted her wings till they to were completely dry, then rose into the air and glided back over to him.
"Yes I want to hear about the blue magic you talked about earlier."
She perked a little smile hoping he wouldn't think ill of her yet her wings still drooped a bit in fear he might. Shikon Miko Edward smiled, showing that he wasn’t angry at her. “Its fine, I just was kind of trying to keep my clothes out of the water, but oh well.”
“Anyways, alchemy is a form of science, and it is when you recreate something. Or if you break, say, a dish, you can use alchemy to fix it.” He was nodding with everything he was saying.

Rein_Carnation Her eyes glistened as the water that flecked off of her emerald wings. "A science.. hmm what's it mean to 'recreate" something? Is that the magic when you do it? That what causes the neat blue light?" she queried with a small flick of her tail.
"Say can alchemy make flutters bigger? Like you know the wingeds and unicorns? I'm so scared I'll get called a bug when I grow up. Do I look like a bug to you?" she asked with a big frown blinking her eyes. Shikon Miko “Hmm, I don’t think it can make flutters bigger. Then again, I don’t think it has been done before.” Shaking his head, he gave her an exasperated look. “And your not going to get called a bug. You’re a little larger than a bug, but only slightly.” Then he gave her an evil smile. Rein_Carnation Not a bug. Not a bug. Well there was good news though she'd still fret over it anyway being so tiny. Why look how big Ed was compared to her, heck even Saissis was bigger. Repeat after me... not a bug. Alright things were settled... for now at least.
"Hey" she nickered with a suspicious eye raise toward his evil grin, "What are you smiling about? Do tell" she stamped her little hoof with eager eyes as her long green hair fell in a silken wave over her shoulder.
She thought a moment and grinned herself, "Oh I bet you can make me bigger just as you could grow wings" she winked in a sly taunt swishing her tail. Shikon Miko He gave her a little glare, she ruined his fun. Raising his brow, he gave her an incredulous look. “Hmm, seems you won’t be getting any bigger than.” He smirked, thinking that might make her a bit angry. He understood her feelings on being short though. He wasn’t short yet everyone thought he was. Obviously, they should invest in some glasses. Rein_Carnation Stamping her little glistening hooves she pouted with a snort. He was keeping something from her. Did he know how to get bigger? Inquiring minds wanted to know, in this case a die hard little flutter aiming to get an answer.
Instantly she flopped her little rump upon the ground and continued to sit there. It wasn't the urge to pout and while but she felt it welling up. Why couldn't she make a blue light that was magical. Maybe she could learn alchemy too and do it herself.
"Why not" she frowned as her wings flitted behind her like a huge fan, "You're bigger than me... how'd you get that big? And how can I learn alchemy too"? Shikon Miko ““Well, it helps that I am not a flutter. Is that not the whole reason you are that small?” He raised a brow, and watched for her reaction. Wasn’t that part of the whole being a flutter thing, wings and being shorter than the normal?
So she sat there, pouting, but she wasn’t whining yet. That was a good sign wasn’t it? “And I can’t teach you alchemy, I just know all about it. Some two-leggers I used to know knew how to do it.” He shrugged. “Sorry.”
Rein_Carnation She sat there dumbfounded trying to figure things out. So tiny in comparison to him it was almost irritating. But she was behaving while her thoughts were racing like little herds of horses in her cramped little mind.
He only knew about this 'alchemy' that he mentioned, But yet he said so much about it. This was frustrating as her little jade pendent uplifted in a breeze and swung back and forth glimmering in the sunlight. Flitting her wings occasionally she pondered things as the escence of her large leaf shaped wings and the pendent made a radiant shimmer against the ground in front of her. Maybe she had her own sort of magic that only she had.
Yeah that had to be it.
Grinning back at him she shook her head, "When life gives you lemons make.." oh what was the word she had heard from her mother. Something to do with lemons no doubt, "lemon-something" she beamed with a giggle. Shikon Miko He stared at her, like she had suddenly grown another head? What why was she using that metaphor? “Are you alright? Did you want a lemon or something?”
What was she thinking in that little head of hers? She was smiling, grinning actually, like she knew something he didn’t. He flicked his braid onto his other shoulder as the breeze blew his jacket. He lifted a brow and asked, “What are you thinking about?” Rein_Carnation She grinned coyly at him with little thoughts dancing about like scattered jeweled treasure. Now he was the one that was wondering what she was up to.
"No no its an expression I heard" she shook her head to remember, "Lemon... lemon... oh what do they drink. Umm... lemonade... yeah that's what it is!" she beamed quite proudly inspite of herself.
"When life givers you lemons, make lemonade".
There she remembered swishing that little tail of hers as the thoughts resumed churning in her head. "It means when something bad happens, find something to make it better" she nodded with a wink, "Sooooooo if I can't find how to make blue light from you, well I'll find another way to find it".
She grinned back at him waiting to see his expression, waiting to see him think her silly or in the mind of a meek little child. She may of been small and young, but in truth her heart was in the right place. A future adventurer had to live upon the edge, breathe the spirit of the unknown, and simply be something you never thought possible. Flitting those large wings she caught gaze of those sparkles and smiled even more confidently. Shikon Miko He rolled his eyes. He flicked his tail back and forth, watching as those green wings flitted. “You are a odd child, but obviously way to determined.” He walked past her to get to the river take a drink. He bent his head down and took a large gulp of the ice cold water.
Lifting his head back up, from the corner of his eye, he could see the green from her wings reflecting on the ground. He then turned his head to look at her fully. “You’re a flutter right? Then you’re supposed to be short. But it doesn’t mean that people are going to confuse you with something else. And I really don’t think you should use alchemy for something like that.” Rein_Carnation She pondered taking a step behind him then paused. She knew deep down inside alchemy wasn't her forte, but yet something dwelled within her like a sleeping child waiting to be awakened. It was subtle, faint and rather submissive in her stage of youth. She knew deep down when the time was right she'd find her ownlight.
"Odd am I? Why do you say so? Someday you'll see, I'll have bigger wings, and be able to do what I want" she nodded confidently with a flitter of her wings, "You'll see... I'll prove I'm not as wierd as you think".
She stood firm on that resolution balancing her weight on those little hooves of her shining like hiden emeralds deep in the grass.
"Yes I'm a flutter" she reverted back to his original question, "We're suipposed to be special or something like that. I just think flutters are kinda small."
Told ya I'm not a bug. Someday you'll see. Shikon Miko He gave her somewhat of a mocking smile, and raised his brow. “Special indeed. I think that you should just wait until you’re an adult to see if you get a little taller.” And after a moment of thinking he quickly added, “And you are weird, you just don’t know it yet.” with that he trotted away, going a little slower than normal so that she could catch up if she wished. Rein_Carnation She stamped her little hooves puffing up her chest defiantly. Did he call her weird? Did he just pick on her because she was so much smaller? More like a taunt it seemed in her little teal pouting eyes.
She trotted after the larger stallion with a scrunched muzzle letting her footfalls sound heavy as she deliberately stamped up behind him.
"I'm not weird" she nodded with a deep shake of her head, "You're the weird one." she noted pointing to his big red coat. How comes I don't see anyone else dressed in stuff like that and making blue light?" she teased with a flick of her ears and a random toss of her long mane. Shikon Miko “Technically, I never made a blue light. And another thing, just because I wear my coat doesn’t make me weird.” He tilted his head up and looked down to her. “I think my clothes give me an air of mystery.”
He continued walking along, hearing her hooves stomp behind him. Well at least I know she won’t get lost. It might be hard to finds such a little flutter in the woods. As he thought that, a smirk grew on his face. Rein_Carnation ((The eternal flutter foal...poor thing has been a baby way too long))
Air of mystery. That was new to her as her eyes studied him. To her he was weird since no others wore such strange things. Really.
She deliberately followed him with her stern look knowing there was some hidden inside joke he was keeping from her. Did he think her a bug? Did he really the way he kept her in the dark was a joke?
"Air of mystery huh? And why's that?" she smirked with her tail swishing, "I mean it, I know I'm special and someday I'll show you. You just watch and see" she beamed flickering her wings off and on.

Shikon Miko ((She so cute though ><))
Looking behind him, he saw her wings flutter and she looked pretty proud of herself. Raising a brow and smirking, he let out a little laugh, “Special indeed.” Flicking his tail, which you couldn’t see because of his clothes, he continued to walk on. He knew she would still follow him.
A slight wind blew his ‘weird’, or at least she thought so, clothes. Rolling his eyes he picked up his speed. She had caught up hadn’t she, so now he could walk faster. Rein_Carnation ((Yes she is. She's determined to be noticed no matter what the size.... *pokes the bug and runs*))
She followed him placing every hoof down with a thump. Was this a game he was entering and wanted her to follow she pondered deeply to herself. So much she wanted to explore, to find things that glittered and shimmered like gold, yet she followed him determined to find the invisible joke hidden from her.
Walking even faster she fluttered her wings again still noting how "weird" this clothing of his was. Why when the wind ruffled it, it came alive. This she was sure of. What if it was alive and it was sucking out his life force, a slave to its every whim she blinked letting her imagination roam. A pelt that became something else, now there was something interesting, if not a definite mystery.
"Creepy yet cool" she muttered with a mischievous little grin. Shikon Miko ((Poor, poor little bug ~runs also~))
Had she said something? Turning his head slightly, out of the corner of his eye he could see she had a grin. What was she so happy about? Looking all the way around he yelled out to her, “What’s going on in that little brain of yours?” Then he stopped completely, giving her his full attention, if only for a second. And was it just him, or was she staring at his jacket? Rein_Carnation Her eyes flickered with curiosity. Had he been taken over by one of those skin walker things? Would he try and eat her or curse her. Oh dear maybe that's what this hidden blue light was. She speculated with a strangeness while keeping her composure. Every time the material would flutter, much like her wings, she'd stare it down with determination. No scrap of material was getting the best of her. no way.
She looked over at him warily then shook her head with a covered up smile, "What do you mean?" she asked wryly with an almost accusing look.
Hmm perhaps he doesn't know he's been possessed by the skin. Ooh that's not good.
She flicked her tail and shook her head with a flutter of her wings. Maybe if he didn't know, well he wouldn't try anything like those evil creatures did. Shikon Miko What was her problem? Seeing as she probably couldn’t hear his thoughts, he voiced his question. “What’s your problem?” Thinking about it for a moment he shook his head. “Never mind, I don’t want to know.” While talking, he had unknowingly stopped walking.
Shaking his head still, he strolled along, his pace normal. If she wanted to follow him, she would have to catch up herself. His coat was billowing behind him, making it look alive. Tilting his head slightly to look at her, he noticed her staring at his coat again. Was it that interesting, or in her terms, weird? Rein_Carnation She bit her lip following after him, trying to figure out how to solve her dilemma with the creature that possessed Edward. Feena wasn't dumb, on the contrary she was imaginative and brilliant. It was mainly the stories of skinwalkers and being taken over that had her mind going wild.
"Hmm ever hear of creatures that posses the mind and spirit?" she asked in idle conversation. It was worth the chance to see if he knew about them. Maybe she could possily hint at the possibility. Shikon Miko Hearing her question, he came to a complete stop. Swiveling his head around, he gave her an incredulous look. “What are you talking about?!” Seriously, what was she talking about? Did she think he was possessed or something? And by what?
Shaking his head in disbelief at the situation, he asked another question. “What brought this on?” He gave her a skeptical stare, prompting her to tell him what she was implying.
((Feena is so gorgeous!)) Rein_Carnation ((if you ever want to end the RP let me know... it gets harder to RP a foal when they've finally grown ... *snugs her baby*)) wink
Feena bit her lip trying to think of how to explain his 'possession' in a manner he'd understand.
"Well... " she began with her head held high as she trotted up toward him, "You.. I mean your pelt err coat might be alive you know. It moves on its own, it whispers scary things. I'm afraid you might not know that its taken over your soul." she whispered and gulped trying to look toward an image that wasn't there to the right of her.
He'd think her mad, a speculating youngster that feared the impossible. But as a child she expected and saw many illusions that would cause even an adult to question things she pondered. Shikon Miko His jaw was almost hitting the ground. Was she serious? Was this a joke or something? His coat taking over his soul. Clearing his throat he closed his jaw, but his eye was still twitching. “What? Are you serious?!” He was controlling his temper rather well, or that’s what he thought. Normally, when someone told him something so outrageous as he coat taking over him or that it talks, he would be giving them a look like they had two heads, or yelling.
But, seeing as she was a kid, he didn’t want to be all rude to her. So, he would control his anger, but only for a second.

Feena bit her lip with tears in her eyes. Why did she go and tell him. Omigosh now he was mad and maybe try to eat her or something. Hunching herself down lower she nodded slowly.
She wanted to cry for saying something so stupid that he'd think her deranged. But what if it were true? What if his coat was pure obsessed evil planning to overtake the world some day. She had to do something, anything to stop it, right?
"Feena? are you alright little one?" came the voice of a mare whom was approaching the foal and the stallion. Her eyes remained calm yet a faint flicker of worry was surfacing in those purple hues. Shikon Miko He had been glaring at her, but when he noticed how upset she was getting he calmed down. When he was about to ask if she was alright, and for her to explain the whole coat thing, he heard another voice.
A blue mare with wings like Feena’s, just smaller, walked over to the foal. She had asked the first question he was about to say, but now he wondered, “Who are you?” Rein_Carnation Saissis nodded to the stallion with a soft wave of her head. "I'm Lady Saissis but if you like you may call me Saissis. I'm the adopted mother of Feena." Her eyes flickering softly between the stallion and the upset little foal.
Feena frowned and hunched herself downward wanting to run toward Saissis and nuzzle her mother. Mothers always made things right, or they punished for bad behavior too. Her eyes sat upon Ed and that scary red coat, yet she didn't dare move from where she stood.
"Yes mama. I'm alright" she murmured now pulling herself more calmer that Ed's anger was calming. Shikon Miko ((Whenever you want another one, I’m all for it ^^))Edward nodded his head to her, and muttered “Nice to meet you.” Looking over at Feena, he asked. “Are you sure?”
Starring at her he also added in, “My coat isn’t alive. It’s nothing but a piece of cloth.” He nodded, hoping to clear this all up. Also, he didn't want her mother all made at him either. Rein_Carnation ((Just poke me when you do *chuckles* I've been swamped with work so I was a little slow replying))
Saissis narrowed her eyes at the little one and sighed, "Feena. We need to sit down and talk for a bit. Somethings are merely stories or otherwise legends little one. Come we shall go for apples and forget this misunderstanding, alright?"
Feena cowered peeking ever so often at Ed and his coat. "Yeah I'm fine" she smiled up at him then trotted over by her mother's side. The coat was still kind of creepy, but she didn't want to upset her mother or Ed saying so. "I'm sorry I said you were possessed Mr. Ed." She giggled for no reason standing by her mother's side. Shikon Miko ((Yeah, I have been busy with school. So anytime I suppose we can start another. >< ~Doesn’t matter when for her xD~))
Ed could tell she still thought his coat to be weird; she kept looking over at it! He sighed, shaking his head at her weird-ness. “It’s okay; I suppose that most small things would be scared of a big coat like mine.” He snickered slightly. He couldn’t help it. He just had to put on in before she left.
Smiling, he nodded his head to her and her mother. “I’ll see you later than, okay?” Still grinning, he spun around and walked away from the river. Looking back he could see her still standing by her mother.
Shaking his head, he walked past a large tree, and then trekked his way into the surrounding forest. Rein_Carnation Feena watched him go still wondering about that coat of his, yet her mother's watchful eye made her forget what she was contemplating. Playfully she nudged the taller blue mare, "Apples?" she hinted with a bright smile.
Saissis smiled quite softly and nodded, "Of course little one. We'll also discuss things you need to understand more." She leaned down nipping at Feena's mane before taking to the sky with a swift push of her legs. Knowing Feena was directly beside her she headed off toward the apple groves.
