The hardest decision some of you will ever face. I personally lean more towards Serj, even though I still think Scars on Broadway is amazing.

I'd have to agree with you.
Even though I LOVE Daron, I like Serj's a little bit more.
I agree with most of Serj's opinions, too. ;o

PLUSSS
Daron needs no beard. ;[
If so, it should be his double beard. <3

I definitely love Serj's work more and I knew I would before either of their albums came out. I personally cannot stand Daron's voice when he sings on his own. I thought Serj and Daron did great with System songs with switching up the vocals, but Daron can't do it on his own. I believe Serj's work is more mature also. Scars has a lot about drugs and sex...wow just like every other popular band out there. Serj has songs that make you think about things going on right now that need to be thought about.

They could just get back together and solve this madness and debate. mrgreen

Yea Serj's lyrics are much smarter, but I love their balance, so I would rather see them back together

I agree with you all but I must point out one thing about Daron.
He has a style that spices up what he writes.
His songs are great to headbang to because it's loud, in-your-face and just strikes those perfect notes that make you wanna mosh your heart out.
That's the only reason why it's great.

Just like the dumb Rappers these days,it's all about sex, money, drugs&egos. There's hardly a thought process involved when listening to lyrics.

Daron is more talented musically, that's all.
But that's a BIG force when it comes to song writing.
Everyone knows that a great metal [or any other rock song] has a kickazz solo and riffs in between. He's a great guitarist/bassist with a not-so-important voice.A hot head.... who wants the spot light.

Serj's work is grand, great and epic. But he lacks the ear.
He's good, no doubt. Yet there's more of the thought process taking over.
Not enough of the song to have fun with.Too much sitting and thinking.
The loudness of the beat keep us entertained but not exactly revved up enough to push the guy next to us into the steel foundation.

Only together do they have the sound and lyrics played in perfect harmony.

This is a hard choice. I love the music in both Serj and Scars, I love Serj's piano skills, but Daron is a awesome guitar player. But I think I like Serj better, his main edge is he's a better singer(Well I think he is), and his lyrics are MUCH better. But both are very fun to listen to.

I completely agree with you Metal_Missa.
However, with Serj's work, I love to think and ponder over his songs. But there is humor, like Lie Lie Lie is a hilarious song by itself. Then I just like to find stuff in songs that my friends and I laugh about. (How he says "chastising" in Feed Us, or in the video for Saving Us, the girl who holds up a sign saying Meat-Eating)

I do like Daron's work mainly because I understand his personality. If a new person came into Scars not knowing anything about System, I think there is a greater chance of them not liking Scars. But us previous System fans get what Daron is about and knows he will write the crazy things he does. Now Daron can write intelligent lyrics too. He wrote a lot of System's, but he just chooses to show his crazy side more.

Now I think there is a chance that more people would turn towards Scars if Daron chose to mix some of his smarter side, I mean, that's why I loved System, they had those smarter lyrics, but they also had the party songs like Vicinity of Obscenity.

Your strike really good points millianth mile & razzledazzle5160.
Yet I've come to believe that Daron is more interested in sales,
while Serj is concentrated on his art; The meaningful side of music.
Sure he has humorous songs and even hilarious poems in 'Cool Gardens'.
I agree that Serj has a playful side, and I love it. His lyrics have no problem going into a fast hardcore or a slower and smoother song.
I respect the fact that he stays by his words.

And after all, doesn't it matter about who becomes the Sell Out in the end?
Daron wants to keep his fans and his sales
Serj cares more about the message and the satisfaction of creating a intelligent song.

Serj. But either way you can still hear System in both of them

Yeah, I was going through some System videos, and Daron seems more lively in System, like he was more into it then. He doesn't look like he has that energy right now

If you read the interview from Revolver Magazine ,August 2008; you'll find out why.
Daron was the main one getting interviewed, which supports my theory that he was to blame for System breaking up in the first place.
John Dolmayan, the current drummer, is also a System Veteran and he didn't have much to say.
When they asked him about the show he was about to play, he answered with the metaphor,
What's p***y to a porn star?

Really,I'm impressed that you spotted that out. Not even I caught that without the help of my Revolver.
Daron just doesn't have spirit he used to have.
