Yes he spent 12 years in Korn, yes he was intrinsic to their sound, but founding member? Hardly. He was only the 3rd member to join Korn in its early stages. He is not unique - his sound can be replicated by anyone with a 7-string guitar tuned to drop D. He is no poetic nor musical genius, as proven by his rather dull, immature and quite ridiculous lyrics. Neither will he win any prestigious for his published memoirs as gut-wrenchingly truthful as they may well be (I have read better judging from the excerpts).
To the matter at hand, Head is reduced to nothing but a caricature of the "extreme Christian" kind - not to mention a clever self-promoter, using a fanbase he turned his back on and turning us on our heads (pardon the pun). Now please take the time to read this post from Dani:

Alright, after thinking about the conversation I had with Irene last night and re-reading some of the s**t on KoRnSpace I unfortunately need to bring myself to rant.

"KoRnSpace, your #1 source for KoRn" is their slogan. So why is it they continuously, every day, post new Head news? Head, or should I say his non-KoRn title, BRIAN WELCH is not a part of KoRn anymore. And he never will be again, ever! So why so much ******** support, KS? Why do you have sheep (which is the name we call KoRn "fans" who don't appreciate all that KoRn has to offer, who souly focus on the guitar parts, who always always compare it to an older album or different band, who criticize anything new and different, who live in the past, who are deaf to music) running the site and posting this bullshit?
Head's new song "Flush", contributed a lot to this shitstorm on KoRnSpace. Sure, I loved hearing the "old KoRn guitars" going off as well, but once I heard the lyrics, something that unlike orchestra music, makes these types of songs what they are, I questioned it. I admit, I too, was caught up in the hype. I also admit that I said Head's new music defeated See You On The Other Side or some bullshit like that in one of the many threads we have here in our guild.
Why did a dedicated KoRn fan like me fall victim to this? Because it's exactly what Head wants. We must all understand that this is not Head's new music. This is KoRn's OLD MUSIC, which is something we're all fond of and miss a little bit. The reason Head has "not progressed" is because he's purposely appealing to ALL OF US, ALL THE KORN FANS.
Also, I have a little lesson in life for our dear friend Brian. It's about living in the past. Throughout some of the years I dwelled on the past, I was swallowed into the depressing pit of past mistakes, I could not go a day without thinking about something stupid I did. But doing that was hurting me in the long run, hurting me in the present so I realized that I needed to focus on my life now, how I can improve it and then look forward to the future, and if I saw the person I was 5 years ago I'd punch them in the face and get on with my life.
Head isn't able to this. All he does is dwell on the rockstar, drug-addicted ******** he was during some of the years he was in KoRn. As someone very intelligent posted on KS: he can't go through one interview without mentioning drugs and KoRn in the same sentence. Has he forgotten all the good times he had with KoRn--and I know he had them. I see the same smile during the making of the Somebody Someone video as I do in the recent making of Flush.
Head's also over-reacting. There are plenty of people in this world who've gone through ******** up s**t, whether with spouses or their children, been addicted to drugs, ect. It's everywhere today. But you know something? I've seen people who've gone through things ten times worse than Head WITHOUT financial support, WITHOUT a close-knit family and friend system and WITHOUT a Bible.
I'm not attacking Head's outlet, if religion works for him, so be it, I respect that. But he's so convinced his past life was so horrible, and though it was, I've seen much worse. And if it is oh-so bad, why the ******** does he continue to dwell on it? I liked it when he was focusing on the future, like I do, but now he's making money off his sob-story, and taking it a step further, making money off God.
Now, let me attack KoRnSpace's support system with this chart! biggrin

Anyways, I think it's disgusting that Jonathan receives criticism for Alone I Play and everyone's all for it, but Head makes a song about puking and anyone against that is a horrible person.

I will not buy or support Head's new album. I may listen to it, see what's there at that most.
