Rosalind's day had not been going well. It was cloudy, for one thing. She wanted the warmth of the sun on her coat, to feel it caress her back as she ambled through the field. Instead, she felt claustrophobic under the clouds. They stretched out in every direction, ranging in color from a bleak gray to a frightening black.
She flicked her forelock out of her eyes and continued to make her way quickly across the too-long meadow, constantly checking over her shoulder. She had the strangest feeling that she was being watched, contributing most of the feeling to being squished under the dark clouds, and she wanted to get to her shelter as soon as she possibly could.
Inhaling sharply, Rosalind stopped in her tracks. This meadow didn't seem familiar at all, she knew for a fact that she had never seen it before. She began to panic, flashing the whites of her eyes as she frantically began to search for something-- anything-- familiar.
"Hello?" she called out, her ears back from the fright and her long, curling tail tucked between her legs. Her mane whipped back from her neck as the wind picked up, and she became more frightened as she realized that even the scent of the air was unfamiliar.

Gleaming orbs watched the mare as she walked into plain sight in the prairie. Had she stayed confined to the forest area, he may have been less likely to make an appearance.. But she was so alone.. So open.. His murderous mind could not be held responsible for the situation she had allowed herself into.
His gleaming golden pelt that lay across his back kept him warm from the clouds that hung overhead. It had been this way all day, and it had even let him travel during the day hours, as he despised the sun more than anything.
Warmth, was somethinghe could live without..But the pelt, it wasnt used for warmth.. Richard was a skinwalker. Living, breathing, evil that would stalk for days before even showing his face to his victim.
He preferred the games of a trickster, or the fun of a madman.. He just could not kill, without making sure they remembered his face before hand.
She spoke, and he listened, ears perking. Who was she calling to? Who had she expected to be out in this cloudy prairie that she had so bravely thrown herself into? Did she think that some magical bunny would befriend her? ..
Because those were fairytales..and hes was going to make nightmares real.. "One might ask what youre doing here..All alone.." He said, without showing himself from the cluster of trees he was hidden among. His voice was loud, booming, rough.. And it carried striaght to her, making it echo through the field.

Rosalind shrieked as she heard a voice boom out from nowhere. She was already frightened, already on edge, when she heard a voice. Now she knew that she had been followed, that she had been watched. A rush of relief flowed over her as she realized that she wasn't crazy, around the same time the situation really revealed itself.
Something was stalking her, watching her. And it sounded scary as hell.
"I-I-I got lost," she stammered, calling out to the voice. She called in the direction that she thought the voice had come from, though she knew that she was nowhere near it. "Would you be able to tell me the way to the ocean?"
She whirled her head around again, trying to find the voice before it answered her. She saw trees, trees, and more trees. Why did she have to get lost?

He smiled, emerging from the trees as her shriek was enough for him. He did not like to stay hidden, it made him feel weak.
"The ocean you ask?" He recited, walking around her as a lion stalks its prey before lunging..His eyes were mischevious, but they lacked one deadly aspect. They did not hold anger or hunger..She was safe from him for now, assuming he did not get hungry later on, while they spoke. He still wanted to play around with her..Confuse maybe even hurt her with words..But she would be free from losing her blood.
"I despise the ocean." He said with a gruff growl and snap of his teeth.

Rosalind was scared, no doubt about it. But not as scared as she could've been. The stallion did not seem to want to harm her just yet. She could tell from his eyes.
The eyes of a Skinwalker.
The mare chuckled nervously. "Don't like it, you say?" she near-whispered, her ears laid back submissively. "Well, where else should I go then, for a day of excitement and shenanigans?" Her voice was slowly returning to her, much to her relief. She had been planning on playing in the tide pools with the itty bitty creatures that lived there, splashing and throwing them in the air. Where else was she supposed to get in trouble?
