Minagi sat by the edge of the lake at the park sulking slightly. School would be starting back up soon and she would be going to a public school. Up to this point she'd always been home schooled. She was scared of the new school, sure she was never scared of anything! Why should this worry her. She'd been all excited when her and Spica had picked out her new outfits and shoes, even a brand new drawing pad for her and special artist pencils which she treated as if they were made of gold. But still, she didn't know anyone at the school and for a long time now she hadn't really been around anyone but her family.
"What am I gonna do?" she whined to herself playing with the little tufts of grass that creeped up along the edges of the lake.

Kyou walked along bank of the lake, his hands deep in his pockets. He was going to school again soon. He really didn't like school that much. All the people and noise just didn't agree with him. He had a rather nervous disposition and people tended to get on his nerves. Plus there was always the curse that he had to deal with. The curse always made things much worse for everyone but especially him. He sighed deeply, kicking the grass in front of him. He looked up from the ground to see Minagi sitting at the edge of the same lake. He hadn't seen the girl in a long time but he was glad to see her again. He wasn't sure why though.
He slowly walked over to her muttered a "Hey Minagi." gruffly. He still wasn't all that good with people, even when they were his friends.

Minagi quickly looked up and a bright smile lite up her face. "Kyou!" she squealed in excitement jumping up. "It's been such a long time." She was talking normally this time. It indeed had been some time since she'd seen her friend. She'd dearly missed him to. Though there was a slight flutter to her heart that she didn't understand, but she drew it off as nerves and shock.
Minagi's hands twisted the ends of her shirt. She had her same out black tank with the turquoise edges, but she had a pair of dark denim capri's on instead of pants due to the heat, and a pair of black flip-flops to accompany. her smile seems unending, never had she been so happy to see a familiar face. "So how have you been? Still practicing your martial arts?" she asked with a thrill. She wanted to learn, but the man Spica was seeing thought her a bit to young to teach her the arts that he knew. Once of the older children, Hinata was learning from Youko and it certainly looked extremely hard.

Kyou smiled back slightly, which was a big deal for him, taking his hands out of his jeans. He was wearing flip flops too because of the heat and was wearing a simply gray t-shirt. It was warm and his orange hair was quite messed up as he had been running his fingers through it so often with the heat. He was very glad to see Minagi. Especially after all this time. He certainly hadn't seen the girl in a while and he was happy to see that she seemed quite well. He would even go as far as to say that he had missed the girl, which was a big deal for Kyou.
He smiled slowly. "It has been a long time." he said with a nod. He looked at the smiling girl and couldn't help but smile a little wider then he normally did. "I could have been better I must admit." he said. "But I'm pretty okay. Still practicing martial arts, every day." he said with a slightly smirk. His love, his passion, martial arts. "What about you Minagi? How've you been?" he asked her. This had been the longest group of sentences he had said in a long time. It was a big deal really.

Minagi twisted her shirt a little more and sighed. "Nothing much, Mom got a new boyfriend, but I think she's really gonna get married this time. Youko really seems to love her and he's great with everyone in the house!" she said with a shrug. She liked Youko that was for sure. But really there hadn't been anything interesting going on in HER personal life as far as she as concerned.
"Not really a lot with me personally though. Hanging out mainly with my brothers." she said rolling her eyes. She was a tomboy alright, out in the yard playing rough games with the boys coming back in the house just as dirty and scratched up and banged up as the rest of them. But she'd never shed a tear, she called every mark she got a battle scar.

Kyou sat down beside Minagi as she spoke, feeling awkward standing in front of her, looming over the girl. He felt just as awkward sitting down beside her, but it was a different kind of awkward. One that felt more natural. He sat down beside her crossing his legs and listening quite intently. If Kyou was anything he was a good listener. "Mom broke up with her old boyfriend I'm afraid but she seems okay with it. She's still doing her detective work. The norm really." he said. He rarely talked about himself or his family but Minagi was different from everyone else. He could talk to her about all these trivial little things.
Kyou gave her a small smile when he heard about her brothers. He had liked them when he met them. They were fun and boyish and great to rough house with. Not that he wouldn't do that with Minagi, he just felt a lot more awkward doing it with her. After all she was a girl, even if she was a tom boy. "How're you brothers doing?" he asked her, his ears twitching with the lake water lapping to the bank.

Minagi shrugged. "The usual, Kisho's still working in his music studio all the time. Him and Mel are thinking of having another baby. Tsuyoi rarely leaves the library and dragging Shizuma away from the TV is like a death sentence." she said with a laugh. Of course she had many more brothers, and plenty of sisters as well.
"I'll be starting school with everyone this year. Mom says I need to get around other people. Home schooling was good for a while but I need to socialize more." she said looking nervous. She was still worried about going to the public school.

Kyou listened to the tales of her brothers with a small smile. It had been quite a while since he had seen them all and now that he was being told about them all together he couldn't help thinking about the old times when they had all played together. But he was happiest that he was talking to Minagi right now. It had been too long. "Hehe that sounds so like them. Iasc has been swimming constantly like normal. She never gets out of the water. I swear she's growing gils or something at this point!" he said with a small laugh.
Kyou watched her with interest. "What school are you going too? I've always been public schooled. Though I don't like it all that much really I must admit. But still you have to learn and I think I like it better in a school environment." he said knowledgeably, his tail flicking from side to side, disrupting the dirt.

Minagi laughed along with Kyou. "You never know, she just might me!" she said through her giggling.
Minagi shrugged, she didn't remember the name of the school. "I dunno, Mom said it's the school everyone else goes to though so I shouldn't feel too out of place. I'm in class 2A?" she said scratching at her arm. She was sure that was her class. A small inkling in the back of her mind was hoping that her and Kyou would have class together. "I bet it nice being around other kids. Mom says I gotta be careful though, I have to at at least somewhat like a girl while I'm there." she said hanging her head. She was still determined that she wouldn't wear a dress or a skirt.

Kyou laughed again. "It seriously wouldn't surprise me. Really!" he said starting to laugh brightly. A strange sight to see for the boy.
Kyou tried to remember what class he was in. "Well I'm going to St.Laurets I think." Kyou said, trying to think as he did so. "I think I'm going to be in class 2D I think this year." he said though he wasn't sure. It would be so much fun if they were both in the same school, even if they wouldn't be in the same class. Imagine the fun they would get up to together? Kyou smirked slightly. "You're going to act like a girl. That I seriously doubt!" he said grinning evily. He had never seen Minagi do one girly thing in his life and seriously doubted he would ever seen her in a dress. That would just be wierd.

"Well I'm gonna try, for Mom's sake but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna fail miserably at it" she laughed. She was feeling a lot better, she still wasn't sure what the name of the school was but if Kyou could put up with it than she could put up with it too.
Minagi suddenly quirked up and looked at Kyou. "Kyou, are you hungry? I brought lunch with me." she said sitting up better. She'd left the box full of sandwiches and drinks by the tree just up the way in the shade to the drinks wouldn't get warm out in the sun. "I made everything myself. I mean, it's just sandwiches but at least I can make them, some how my brother Kisho can't even do that. He's lucky to have Melody, she know how to cook." she said shaking her head and with a laughing grin.

Kyou laughed slightly. "Well you can try anyway. Even if you can't do it you can at least try. Since it would make your mom happy." he said smiling slightly. At least he didn't have that problem. Though Raving really wanted him to be more social. It was something he simply couldn't do though. It wasn't in his nature to be a social person. But he was slowly getting better at it. Even if it was a tiny step day by day.
Kyou was about to reply that he was alright and that he would let Minagi enjoy her food all by herself but his stomach answered for him instead, grumbling loudly. He looked down at it, betrayed by his own body. "Urm...yeah some lunch would be great." he then replied quietly, blushing slightly and looking away, embarrassed.

Minagi nodded smiling to herself. She could act like a girl if she really worked at it. Not that she would enjoy it but for her mom's sake she'd do her best not to beat the hell out of the boys. "Yup, just try...try not to kill the boys." she said plainly as if it were nothing.
Minagi stared at his stomach and instantly began giggling. "Wow, stomach answer for you. Come up it's up here in the shade. It's hot out here in the sun anyways." she said standing up and waiting for Kyou. The tree was well in very and so was the basket full of food.

Kyou grinned. "I'll try my best anyway!" he said smiling. He was training himself not to fly off the handle but he still did so from time to time. Though it was getting harder and harder to get him angry. He was slowly getting better anyway.
Kyou laughed embarrassedly before getting up and walking over to the shade with her. "Yeah I guess I'm rather hungry and my stomach decided to answer for me!" he said laughing quietly sitting down beside her again, his tail flicking slightly.

Minagi held out the basket to give Kyou first choice. "There's tuna, turkey, ham and a couple of PB and J!" she said proudly. "Then I've got a couple of flavored waters. Mom wouldn't let me take any of the soda's but at least the water is carbonated." she said with a shrug. She wasn't as hungry as Kyou, but she was ready for lunch. She didn't quite know why she'd made as many sandwiches as she did. Sure she could 4 or 5 of them on her own but still. She must has just gotten carried away and over did herself yet again.
The shade was much cool than sitting out in the sun and the cool breeze made it even nicer. She hadn't expected company, but this way much better than brooding over school alone. Kyou had really cheered her up and she was not long too worried about the up coming first day of school.
