Welcome to the So Long Summer Roleplay! All are welcome to join in as the winiko celebrate the end of summer with a bang! A great festival to bring all together to enjoy the last days of the warm season.
There may be prizes randomly handed out in this thread, but this is mostly the main event rp. Its just for fun and for all the owners to get together. Pop in for a quick bite to eat or get cozy and enjoy the party!
Try to keep the OOC chatter in brackets and to a minimum! Be sure to link a pick in your intro post so we know what character(s) you are bringing to the table. If you RP in a chosen color for a wini please try to stick with it, it gets confusing if a character's colors bounce around.
Follow normal RP etiquette and remember Sully will kick you out if you are a pain in the rump. Respect each other, and the rules of the shop.
Sully has a set of gift bags to give out with secret treasures in them! They could have anything from a shop item to a special wini! So keep an eye out for a bit of RP with the fearless leader himself and if you are really speshul you might get a little gift bag! :O
...::: Setting ::...
Far from the bother of humans there is a peaceful place that only creatures know. A place where reality thins and the lines blur a bit. A vast field of green grass is edged by an aged forest of deciduous trees a little to the north. The setting sun in the west casts a warm orange pink glow across the scene, causing long shadows. To the south, the grass grows sparse, replaced by sloping dunes that flatten down to meet the sea. Waves curl up and gently bathe the glowing beach. The steady hum of lazy summer bugs sets the mood only occasionally accented by the cry of an ocean bird. A gentle sea breeze ruffles the leaves of trees, and the sparkling lights of fireflies wink in and out of sight.
Winiko demons mingle about blankets spread upon the green carpet. Piled on them are a delicious variety of food and treats. There is drink aplenty and good conversation to be had. Here and there a bean bag has been dragged out to the field (they are a flopping seat of choice after all) and the grass makes for comfy parking as well.
A blanket seems to be set up for Roll Bones, a favorite demon game. Silhouetted figures meander along the beach alone and in pairs. Other odds and ends are scattered about, as if a couple of disorganized and disagreeing winiko happened to set up the party themselves. Come make yourself at home in the last great party of the season!

(( I is going to bring Gweny and Kayin on in, but I am not always around, so feel free to not wait on responses from me XD )) Gwenevere had spent all day primping. Every tress was in place, every hair smoothed, every nail sparkled. A greater part of the day before had been spent arranging this set up with Sully, and she was sure the party would be perfect! What better way to celebrate the end of summer than a great celebration? Besides a socialite like herself needed REAL company. Talking to her usual companions was like talking to mud. At the thought she shot Kayin a scathing look, then continued on her way around the clearing. Everything seemed to be just perfect, right down to the sweet scented flower bunches holding down the blanket corners. Sighing, Gwen walked to the edge of the clearing to look out across the dunes and sea slightly below. This was so her element. Kayin strolled around, perusing the various blankets. Every time Gwen's back was turned he snatched a tasty bit of something with a swift claw. Better not to raise her fury openly. Again. Catching her random and surely uncalled for look caused him to roll his eyes. This whole party thing was a big fat whatever to him. He was in it for the food and the relaxation part. Spying one of the big comfy beanbags he had dragged out earlier that morning, he decided to flop and watch the sun go down in style. His large brown body mostly piled in the grass as Kayin stretched out partially on the bag. A blanket full of various fruits and yummy looking things was just a paw-stretch away. Life was good, he thought contentedly.

(I'm not going to use her RP color cause I know I'd forget to do it some times. So for now, she posts in black)Juillet hadn't wanted to spend the WHOLE weekend with her bond and bond mates. So she took a stroll, wandering towards the sea. She was smiling as the breeze carried the salty smell t her nostrils. But... there was something else. Something that wasn't quite like he sea. Curious Juillet followed the smell to a clearing off the shore and found decorated tables, food and, the greatest of surprises, Winiko. "And here I thought some humans would be picnicking here." She hadn't meant to say it out loud. But she had, and instantly knew it, hoping neither of the 2 she saw heard her.

[[Beau and Captain's posts will be in black together. <3]]

Padding quietly side-by-side down the beach from their bonded's home, Beau and Captain easily spotted the location of this little get together by the multitude of blankets strewn about everywhere. Beau let out a soft laugh, a broad smile upon her face; here it was, the last dying breath of summer, and winiko were -still- there to celebrate it. Her violet eyes glanced to captain to make sure he was still trailing just to her side before she picked up her pace a bit and scaled the gentle dunes.
Captain himself hadn't exactly wanted to come along, but Beau had insisted it would be good for him. In the setting sun, his eyes glowed a soft orange, clashing somewhat with the blues streaked cross his pelt. He immediately had spotted Gwenevere, a familiar face from the past, and soon noticed the other elder lying lazily upon a beanbag. The warrior didn't recognize him, but he got the same feel that he did from Gwen; they must share the same bonded. He said nothing, either way, merely following just behind Beau as she drew nearer.
--
Vienna pulled herself from the sea, dripping with salty water; she had managed to escape the house without Capricorn noticing, and had safely arrived at the celebration. She frowned a bit, noting that it seemed she was one of the first ones there, but made her way quickly and gracefully up the shore and over the dunes, meeting the grass of the clearing a little sooner than she had expected; without realizing it, she had entered nearly on top of a rather large elder who had lazily been stretched on a beanbag.
"Oops," she stated lazily, stepping to the side as to not warrant an uncomfortable situation, "Didn't see you there." She eyed him for a moment, watching his features, before deciding an introduction was appropriate. "Vienna," she stated simply, "And you are...?"

Tanzaku knew what it was like to be alone, and summer was the best time to do it. He was past the young and audacious age to be out frolicking with the flowers and whatnot, though he had a sort of yearning to do the things his childhood never allowed him to. His bonded was far away from the festival site, and for that he was thankful.
Alyssa Mae wasn't in the best of spirits- the longer Tanzaku watched he from the cold window, the harder, the fiercer the pain came. He wanted to be there for her, he wanted to help her, to save her like he was supposed to, but she was cold as the breezes on the winter wind. He bit his lip as his claws scraped the sand underneath him. She didn't have a use for him, anymore, but he needed her. That was something he wished he had told Belle.
But today, the summer was leaving, and from the peachy tone in the sky, he was sure something lucky would happen, though he didn't recognize any of the winiko there. One striped elder looked particularly familiar, though, though he knew Belle was too young to be of that age. But who was it, then? With the purple stripes on a black pelt that shone so brilliantly like the girl he had met?

Hjarn was curled up around the base of a tall tree, the usual scowl adorning her features as she looked on with disdain at the other Winiko. She had been peacefully napping in the branches of aformentioned tree, unaware that some stupid human and his equally stupid demons had been creating a party central. Idiots.
Now she was stuck here unless she wanted to go back to the cabin and deal with Einna and the other troglodites she lived with. She just hoped that if she kept still and stayed in the shadows, no one would notice her and they would all leave. Or.... maybe she could sabotage the party. Now that's an idea. She grinned to herself and began plotting. Cali rolled her eyes at Hjarn and skipped away to join the other demons. Maybe Hjarn wanted to be a big old sour puss, but Cali was ready for some fun!!
"HI!!" She called out to no one in particular. The first one she came across was a pretty purple elder. "Hi!" She yelled out again, grinning from horn to horn. She bounded up to get closer and tripped over a rock. In doing so, she plumeted to the ground and rolled the rest of the way, coming to a halt right at the Wini's clawed feet. She was on her back, covered in dirt from her tumble, but still grinning happily. Without getting up, she introduced herself. "I'm Cali. Who're you?"

Cornelius though still a jumpy little guy, was finally braving himself to wander away from his bonded and explore on his own. Wandering outside he wandered down the path following the sweet smells of food and the ocean. When he finally came across the picnic and the sight of many older winiko gathering, none of whom he was particularly familiar with. Deciding best to stay away from the gathering older winis for the time being he bounded his way down to the waters edge. He found the waves absolutely fasinating and soon found himself being rather entertained with pouncing at the waves as the went out and running back onto the sand when the waves tried to pounce back.

[[ -throws in Belle, Cavalier, and Lieutenant- IT'S A FAMILY PARTAY. ;D ]]
Belle had soon followed after her parents, leaving her younger brother and her sister somewhere back on the beach. Following the large paw-prints in the sand, she bounded along the shoreline, picking up her paws high with her tail trailing the air behind her. It was summer, of course, and that was all the need to be joyful, right?
Quickly reaching the site, she padded up alongside her mother, giving the elder an affectionate nuzzle to let her know that she had arrived. Silver eyes scanned the landscape, maw pulled into a large, broad smile on her face as she looked at the gathering winiko.
Something pale caught her attention, and her head snapped to the side, staring directly into the eyes of someone very familiar.
"Tanzaku...?"
--

"What a loser."
Lieutenant's voice was bored as she and the youngest of her family strolled down the beach, eyes flickering a bit in the fading sunlight. She was glad, at least, that Belle had taken off down the shore, leaving the quieter Cavalier at her side. Their home was now a small pinprick a mile or two away; although Lieu was sure that Capricorn wouldn't mind that half of her little entourage had taken off for a celebration. The human was content that she got along with them, and therefore allowed them a little more freedom than others might.
"What's that, Lieu?" Cavalier's voice was quiet, and he skittered closer towards her side, spindly tail moving a bit between his legs. Looking up, a toothy grin crossed her face as she realized they had made it to the party.
"Just stick close, Cav'," she replied, heading up the gentle dunes towards where their parents stuck out against the bright landscape, "No one here will hurt you, but we don't want you getting lost, do we?"

Gazing out across the warm sand, Gwen noted the arrivals trailing in. She instantly recognized the dark pair she had previously met. They were elders now, as she, and she almost begrudgingly had to give them kudos for still being together apparently. It's good to see some decent company arriving, she thought to herself and nodded their way before turning back to see who else might be arriving. Noise caught her attention and as she turned toward it, a bright green winiko came tumbling at her feet. "Oh how nice, the riffraff has arrived." She commented dryly, and stepped gracefully around the heap of babbling wini to go about her busines.
Kayin too noted the arrivals, but with much less caring. He had seen some around the main warehouse but most he had never met. Only knew of them through his stupid lazy human who seemed to know them all. Suddenly something dropped onto his spotted coat, followed by a wet something more. Glancing around, Kayin saw it was not raining but actually another elder arriving. Perhaps this would be an interesting party, seeing as several elders were already on the scene. "Heya Vienna, name's Kayin. " He nodded politely to her as she stepped aside, a roguish smile playing across his dark features. With a slight tilt of his head he indicated the food and seating nearby. "Wanna join me? I'm enjoying the scenery." He said, pointing a sharp claw casually at the food-heaped picnic blanket he had dibs on.

Slightly relieved that Kayin hadn't been the type to give her a rude response, a slightly coy smile made its way across her face. "I'd be glad to." she replied, ruffling her damp mane with a light shake of her head. Her eyes glanced at the large amount of demons that were quickly arriving, a spot in her heart glad that they too were here to see off the summer.
Or maybe they were just here for the food, but that was besides the point.
"How many are expected to come?" she inquired, tail swaying back and forth lazily, "Certainly looks like you're expecting a lot of them." She grinned, before flopping down alongside the beanbag, stretching her striped body out as far as it would go. The grass was surprisingly comfortable; besides, being wet and rolling around on blankets and beanbags wasn't exactly a good idea.

It was beginning to turn into a long evening. Ilinea's duel colored eyes set out to glance about the grass that was littered with sweet smelling fruits. She couldn't help but sputter just a little. Her human had forced her to come to this get together, telling her that it would be good for her to socialize for a chance. Ilinea tried to object, but no matter how often her voice reached him Marek simply dismissed it and said that she had no choice.
Frowning, Ilinea felt subconscious, absentmindedly feeling herself tug at the scrap of red material on her back. Why she listened to him instead of standing up for herself she couldn't be sure. She didn't need to socialize, did she? She had Juillet, Evrain, Gawain... and even her newest little friend, Cornelius. She didn't need to meet other winis. She was sure they didn't want to meet her afterall. Sighing, Ilinea shook her head from side to side, maybe it wouldn't be so bad...

In one of Cornelius' attempts to get away from the pouncing waves in his new found game he glanced up and about the party where others were gathering to see if there was any familiar face yet. Stopping short when he saw Illinea he grinned and then soon found himself burried by the on coming wave. Standing up again he shook himself out and then bound up to the grassy area where he saw Illinea standing. His goofy grin on his face at seeing his friend.

Squinting against the fine mist that flew from Vienna's shaking, Kayin watched the other elder get comfortable. She was interesting... in an extravagant sort of way. At least she didn't seem the uppity type or the serious elder sort. The stripes and patterns of her fur were striking. Suddenly realizing he had been watching her, he turned his deep red gaze to the field and arriving demons.
"Not sure. I sorta thought it would be amusing if no one came." A wickedly amused look was sent Gwen's way at the comment. He gave a slight shrug, and pulled a bunch of grapes toward his bean bag with a claw. "I'm not expecting anyone. Our human probably invited every summoned demon he knows of."

Tanzaku pawed uncertainly at the ground. Speak to the lady, or not? Speak to her, or not? He was told that he was always welcome in their home, but that was back when he was a child- ever since then, he had always debating going to visit, but never having the resolve to do it. He quirked a smile. He was stronger, now, he knew how to live without care or other people. But it probably wasn't a good thing.
As the breakers in the water ran over his paws, he flinched and padded outward, tracing the lines in the sand that told him he'd be safe. Looking up, he caught the silver light off familiar eyes, and the violet stripes, the cobalt-streaked tail...
Belle.
He framed the word with his mouth and felt his heart stop in his chest. She was the only one he trusted, and he hadn't realized just how much he had wanted to see her all this time...
