Not really sure where to start. I see a lot of contests on the forums, but then I see most of them get flamed or called hackers. How can I avoid that? Anyone have any advice or running a current contest I can look at to get a good idea? Also, Raffles seem like a good idea, but I see the same problems. Flamers, name calling, etc.Honestly just looking for a way to help people, and maybe get a little cash while I'm at it. Not much, you know, but every little bit helps, lol. cool

I think it's unavoidable being flamed in some form or another. You just have to make sure that everything you're doing follows TOS and that you're being honest about your methods.
IMO, raffles aren't that great. The tickets it takes to hold a good raffle take far too long to sell than it requires to keep the buyers interested and therefore, happy. Not that they can't succeed, but I haven't really witnessed it.
Bump contests are hard, cause people tend to cheat. They figure you won't check their posts cause it takes too long to count them all. When I held them, I had every single person skip sections.
Giveaways are good, but you do run the risk of a ton of begging. LOTS of PMs and posts to weed through. But these are the easiest when you're attempting to be generous.
Personally, I don't see how "helping people" while "getting cash" works out too often, but if you can find a way...

Yeah, mostly, I need cash before I can help people, lol. I'm in a sorry state right now, but getting better. Maybe I'll stick to pinball and posting.
