WASHINGTON - Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Democratic Party's vice presidential candidate in 2000 and now an independent who is one of John McCain's strongest supporters, will speak at the Republican National Convention, an official said.

Lieberman will deliver a speech when Republicans gather in St. Paul, Minn., to nominate McCain for president, a party official told The Associated Press on Wednesday. The official requested anonymity because a formal announcement had yet to be made.

True, it shows the ability to get past party differences.
lieberman wouldent be the closest step towards that being that he quit the democratic party in 2006 and went independent. he is more center-left wich would be a good balance to mcCain's center-right views

Though it still shows he can't really accept fresh blood in politics.

When has that truly mattered to pundits? People only heard how young Obama was, and that could happen again. Don't get me wrong, I believe Booby Jindle is amazing but he won't be picked this young
