Soo. . I just used my first tampon the other day because I wanted to go to the pool. >___>;
It sucked getting it in.
It was even WORSE getting it out. Dx
Like, It hurt. Like a mother.
.__.;
Does anyone have any tips on how to get tampons out without so much pain? Besides just relaxing? Because I can't. >__>;

If you're feeling pain because you're tense, there isn't a whole lot you can do other than continue to use tampons until you get used to them and don't tense up anymore.
When taking tampons out, don't panic. Also don't wait until the last minute. That way, if you have trouble, you can walk away for a few minutes and go back in to try again after taking a short break. Propping one foot up on the toilet also helps most women.

I've never found that taking a tampon out, hurt. I think maybe the very first time I felt quite a bit of pressure taking it out. So I stopped, took a deep breath and I did relax more... and it came out like a breeze.
I know that for some girls propping your leg up on the toilet (Like Lorien suggested) can work. Also make sure you pull the string properly, I know on the first time I pulled it at the wrong angle and that's why I felt more pressure. Lorien also was smart by suggesting not waiting until the last minute to take it out. That way you can try, take a break to relax and then try again in a little while 3nodding

I know this is an old one, but I figure it couldn't hurt to add this incase anyone else had the same problem.
It could be that the tampon is too big, if inserting it is a problem. You could also be too dry. I've noticed that if my period's too light, there isn't enough self-lubricant to ease it in. It might also help if you use tampons with applicators. They help to slide the tampon in if you're having a lighter period.
If taking it out is the problem, you might want to try using a lower absorbency. I say that because leaving a tampon in too long can be a health risk (TSS or Toxic Shock Syndrome if they haven't changed the name since health class all those years ago) As a few other people mentioned, you could just be pulling it out at a wrong angle.
Hope this helps.
