A place for temporary lodging. It's decent enough, with clean rooms and small meals served for an extra fee. Guests may stay however long they wish, so long as they pay their bill.

Vi led the short distance to the hotel of which she had called home in the last year. She smiled and waved to an elderly doorman who nodded. "Why Miss Runalian, I thought you have had your fill of us." He smiled and winked at her as Vi laughed slightly, showing Deilita in. The Lobby was nothing special, if anything it was a bit dingy compared to all the other ritzier hotels in the city. But Vi seemed not to care nor notice as she headed for one of the elevators.
"I'll drop off tonights pay to the manager tomorrow..." She said to herself more than aloud. She sighed, rubbing her temples tiredly. She felt exhausted all over. But it wasn't the first time she'd felt like this. Vi had really grown up in the past year. Not just physically, but she was more mature in her mindset. She had to work to provide food for herself, unlike back home where she just lived a care free life and grew her own food. The time living by herself had taken its toll on her but she felt like it was for better. All she could think of right now however, was to get upstairs and just take a shower to get the smell of diesel off of her.

Deilita looked around for a moment at the surroundings about him and sighed. It was a lot better than his ship, that's for sure. His ship was cleaner though, thanks to the droids and having nothing to do with his spare time since he was alone again. As he followed her into the elevator, he leaned on the back of it while listening to the music it played as it slowly went up. "Wow....she must have been through a lot...and I wasn't around to help her. I can see why she wouldn't get back with me..." He thought as he took the last sip of his coffee.

Vi also leaned against the back wall though closed her eyes. Though she felt the slight tension as an awkward silence took over. But just as she was about to speak, the elevator came to a gentle stop, a small ping resonating in the small compartment. Vi exited the elevator first, leaning the way to a door at the end of the hall. "Here we are..." She smiled back at him as she jiggled the door handle. Vi had one of the cheapest rooms in the building. The only thing that separated it from other rooms was the fact that he door's lock was broken as well as a few small electric devices within the room. When she finally opened the door, she was surprised to find it had been cleaned to a certain extent. Vi had requested against maid service to cheapen her stay, so when she 'checked out' earlier, the management probably had it cleaned for the next resident. "Well...welcome to my 'humble abode'!" She showed him in with a sarcastic, joking tone.

Within a utility closet just down the hall, a young girl with hair as pale as a dove and cobalt eyes just as gentle was reading in a stolen moment by the light of a small, bare light bulb. It was the beginning of the second half of her twelve-hour shift at the Hotel, quite near the end of her ten-minute break and soon she would have to go on yet more rounds of cleaning, disinfecting, along with all sorts of disagreeable tasks left to her alone. Lorelee didn't mind so much, though. All that mattered at that moment was finishing the last chapter of the second-hand novel she had managed to obtain from a sympathetic client. Her eyes had just taken in the last word before the closet door was ripped open by a very gruff hand, shedding light into her little hideaway.

"What are you doing in here?" her employer barked, sparing no decency on her. If he had a lazy, good-for-nothing worker, the world would hear about it. "I don't pay you to hide in closets, you lazy brat!"
For all you pay me, I might as well be hiding in a closet. Calmly, Lorelee slipped the book into her apron pocket and turned to face the irate Mr. Healy.
"It was my break, Mr. Healy. I've worked for six hours straight--"
"I never said you had a break today." His voice was so cold, it almost sent her heart into a chill. "Get out and start on the first floor rooms. And don't let me catch you slacking off again!" The entire exchange on his part was so loud that Lorelee could just make out the click of a few locks as he calmed down. With dignity, though, she gathered her little portable cleaning station and exited the closet towards the rooms that were in need of her attention.

At the age of twenty-two, Lorelee could safely say she deserved better than what she worked so hard to get, and yet could live without. Employers like Healy were in abundance in her life. A girl from the slums begging for work was rarely treated kindly by anyone who had a higher station in Veratia. What it was about her background, she couldn't quite understand, but being yelled, cursed, and laughed at had humbled her so greatly she was on the brink of believing that was what she deserved. Lorelee refused to let herself sink to that point yet.

As Deilita followed Vi to where she lived, his attention was turned towards a man yelling yelling at a nearby employee. This, for some reason, seemed to anger Deilita and made him want to go over there and say something to the man, but he decided against it, and merely walked inside of Vi's temporary home and smiled a bit, seeing at how nice it was on the inside. "It's not bad. It's a lot better than where I've been sleeping lately..." He said with a smile as he walked over to a nearby couch and slowly sat down. "I don't even know what to say now......I just feel bad, ya know?"

Vi too had heard the man and cringed slightly. She had heard his pointless yelling almost everyday here. It was miracle he had even let her stay as long as she did. As long as she had money, she was considered a guest in his eyes. She turned her attention ti Deilita. "Don't...I've been doing just fine on my own..." She said shortly, throwing her duffel bag with a disappointing 'thud' onto the bed. She had hoped that by now she could have been tossing the old bag onto her own bed on Druis, but it wasn't so. She sighed and stretched a tad before heading towards the small bathroom on the right. "Make yourself comfortable....I need a real quick shower but it won't take too long..." She sighed though seemed to consider something. "Feel free to order some room service, I haven't since I've been staying here, but I head their meals are decent enough..." She added, realizing he must be as hungry as she was. She glanced back at him as she took her hair down, wanting to say something else. Yet she merely sighed, let her gaze drop before entering the bathroom, leaving the door cracked for ventilation.

Deilita sighed as he listened to her speak, he wasn't all that hungry for some reason, just seeing Vi and being with her made him lose his appetite for some reason. For now, all he could really do was just sit around and wait for Vi to get out of the shower. When she left for the bathroom, he laid back on the couch he was sitting on and looked over to see a medium sized television to his left and a remote on the floor. Grabbing at the remote, he turned it on and slowly began to flip through channels, only getting white noise the whole time he did so.

Vi would usually have taken her time with the shower, enjoying herself and relaxing completely, but for some reason she couldn't lose her 'on edge' feeling. She finally cut off the water and slipped on a pair of shorts and baggy t-shirt, leaving her hair wet as she emerged. She took a seat on the bed which was across from Deilita and the TV. "So..." She started, not really knowing where to go from there. She tried to smile in a kind, relaxed way, but something was still bugging her.

Deilita looked at Vi as she came out of the shower with her baggy shirt and and shorts. He had to look away from her since memories of the times they were together came flooding back to him like a tidal wave. When he heard her speak, there was a sort of tension in her voice that seemed to bother him a bit. So with out asking, he looked at her and sat up, turning the TV off as he did. "Something's bothering you, I can tell..." He said as he looked at the ground, thinking about what it might have been. "So, what's on your mind. Don't hold anything back, just hit me with it." He said, still looking at the ground, knowing that what she was going to say was probably gonna make him regret more from the past.

Vi furrowed her brow as she pushed back her damp hair. "It's nothing...just-" She sighed. "This is a bit weird you know? Its like I spent all this time trying to forget about you and trying to move on...and when I feel I'm finally free from your memory...you come back into my life." She looked down and shook her head. "The sad thing is now that your here, I want you, though I know I shouldn't....if that makes any sense..." She bit her lip in hard concentration before looking up at Deilita with a strong confusion behind her eyes.

Deilita was a bit shocked at what Vi had told him and had to snap out of this state in order to clear his throat and look away from her. For a moment, he was silent, then he stood up and sighed, stretching as he did. "Well...in a way it makes sense, but I don't know why you'd want me back after what I'd put you through. Believe me, I would love a second chance with you Vi, but I don't want to make things worse for you. I just want you to be happy...." Deilita's heart hurt when he said the last few words and it caused him to turn away from Vi and he sighed before continuing his sentence. "....even if it meant...even if it meant....agh, dammit why can't I say this without it hurting so damn much..."

Vi swallowed hard as she looked at him. She felt as if he were saying the right thing, though it hurt her as well. But for some reason she just couldn't live with that. "It wasn't all you fault...we had an argument and I got angry and left instead of working it out with you..." She attempted to turn it around, looking for some way that they could just forgive, forget, and start over. Though she knew it was almost near impossible. "And- to be honest...since my brother left and my grandfather died, the only time I was ever really happy was when I was with you..." She added, looking down again. She hadn't realized it, but the countless years of her goofing off, getting into trouble, getting lost in drink after drink, living alone...She was never really 'happy'. Sure she'd laugh and sure she'd smile, but it never lasted more than a brief moment. Yet it was different when Deilita came into her life... it felt like a dark veil had been ripped away from her heart, letting in life and joy again. She didn't want to lose that now...

Deilita sighed in frustration as he remained turned away from Vi. He had an idea that would determine weather or not they should stay together, but he doubted it would work like he wanted. "Vi...." He whispered softly as he turned to face her. After a moment of standing there and looking at her, he slowly walked over to Vi and when he was in front of her, he placed his hand gently on Vi's face and lifted her head to look at him as gently as he did the very first time they kissed. "I understand that, trust me, I loved being with you and just hearing you laugh when we were together, it was one of the many things I looked forward to in the day when I woke up. The truth is Vi, I love you so much, and I'm so sorry that I hurt you so much. Even if you were the one that left, I shouldn't have made you choose like I did." His hand soon left her face and his arms wrapped around Vi's waist gently, bringing her closer to him. "But the thing about us is......can we make this work?" Before he let her answer though, he slowly leaned forward and kissed her passionately on the lips, wanting to know by one more kiss, if things would work out between them.

Vi inhaled sharply as his lips suddenly met hers. at first her reaction was to jerk away in shock, but the sweet taste of his lips made her buckle. She hadn't been touched by anyone in the past year, staying reclusive and alone, everyday her feelings for Delita seeming to fade away a bit more. But all those thoughts and emotions flooded back over her now as she finally embraced his kiss. Hesitantly, gingerly, she wrapped an arm around his neck. With the other, she touched his face lightly, moving up to run through his hair. Despite how happy she was right now, her heart ached terribly, causing a small, unnoticed tear to slide down her face.
