1.) Decide how to do the ozashikis Are we going to have seprate threads for each or should we keep them all in the Ochaya?
Any more suggestions?
I'd like to find someone who would be willing to help out with an Ochaya thread outside the guild, in the commerce section, where our head geisha can entertain!
And don't stop trying to get more members!!!

We should also consider a special Announcement thread (perhaps all the rest are to be just stickies, like Price List) of "News and Events". This announcement should be checked regularly by each player, since there we would place notes about current situation in the district, some events, weather etc, so that it would influence or simply reflect the play.
I will make some ochaya descriptions (Kawayanagi ochaya) today and post them so that Eiriel will have something to base on... As to the ochaya thread in the Commerce forum, perhaps we'll just make it similar to the one in-guild and find someone to run it... So it'll be secondary.

We should also maybe plan special events like the sakura blossom parties, parades, so on and so on. ^__^

With regards to the Ochaya thread, I've found some books in school. Going over tomorrow to take a look (we're on spring break you see). Mostly to do with the architecture. I'll try and finish up in between assignments and all that.
On the other hand, I found both of Liza Dalby's books (Kimono and Geisha) on sale in two different secondhand bookstores. Since it was at half price, of course I had to get it. It was an awesome find.
Since Lisa Dalby was the only non-Japanese geisha (well, maybe one of the few non-Japanese ones), her books will be very usefult to us...

In terms of the special events we can always throw them outside of the guild in maybe gaia's guild or chatterbox or even series-related/miscellaneous role-play forum.

That's a good idea! To try to bring in new members or something
Do you have any specific ideas for events?

I got a list of the events that happen in the kyoto hanamachi:
January 1st - 3rd ----- New Year Celebrations January 7th & 9th --- Shigyoshiki January 13th ---------- Hatsyuyori February 2 - 4th ------ Setsubun February 25th --------- Baikasai March 20th ------------- Ooishiki April 1st - 30th -------- Miyako Odori April 1st Sun-3rd ----- Kyo Odori April 15 - 25th --------- Kitano Odori April 16th --------------- Heian Jingu Retaisai Hono Buyo May 1 - 24th ----------- Kamogawa Odori June 3rd Sat-Sun ---- Miyako no Nigiwai June (early) ------------ Miyabikai June 1 - 29th ---------- Gion Matsuri August 1st ------------- Hassaku October 1 - 4th ------- Zuiki Matsuri October 1 - 6th ------- Onshukai October (early) ------- Kotobukikai October ----------------- Suimeikai October 22nd --------- Jidai Matsuri November 1-10th ---- Gion Odori November 8th --------- Kanikakunisai November (mid) ------ Ohitakisai December 1st -------- Okencha December (early) ---- Kaomise Soken December 13th ------- Kotohajime December 31st ------- Okotosan, Okerabi
Gion Kobu does about 90% of them. We just have to decide which to do. Then, we can start the board with maybe a picture of the events and of course describe it.

OH!
We also need all of our member's profiles!
This includes:
Sayuri Eiriel Kawayanagi (maybe even the okiya cash maid?)

Matsuri = Festival
Hinamatsuri, though I don't see it on there, is the girl's festival.
Umm...I don't know if we'd follow all of those festivals... Lack of funds and such...Lottos are always nice ideas, though...bring in customers that way... O.o
Or giveaways. ^.^

Hmm okies
So how would we celebrate festivals? Put up new decorative banners for every festival? Dress in certain clothes or something?
Keep the brainstorming going!

The guild members should dress up in kimono...and go to a thread outside of gaia. We should have a special giveaway for new members or such. ^.^ Reel in the business!

Toneriko OH! We also need all of our member's profiles! This includes: Sayuri Eiriel Kawayanagi (maybe even the okiya cash maid?) The cash maid's profile is already in Okiya thread. I shall put the list of special events to the thread. First post will be announcing current news and evens, while the rest will be purely informative. I think we'll decide upon celebrations as soon as everything else is set and working. Anyway, out-of-the-guild festivals are a cool idea.
