HISTORY of FORT ANDREWS (Upper Gaia Colony PORT)
The brave soldiers and militia served under Major General Andrews in the Great Pirate Raid Campaign of the September 19th - 20th, in the year of Our Lord two thousand and five.
The newest of the three original trading posts, constructed in July of 2005, acted as a merchant port for sea bearing vessels. Today, it has been re-established into a Commercial Port, defended by two 2-long ranged 30 pounder and 2-short range 12 pounder gun coastal batteries. This fortified port is also the homeport of the famous, world's fastest, R.M.G.S.S. Pinklink. Up to 8 moderate sized sea vessels may dock at the port.
This port is guarded by 50 naval regular marines and armed merchants (a.k.a. Tamcharles' 1st Legal Lawyer Battalion). There are two entrances to this port, one via a walkway connected to a guarded station for the public and another by an entrenched walkway to South FORT ANDREWS for military and special guests. Each walkway is flanked with artillery-and-murder hole fortifications in case of siege and attack.

FORT ANDREWS (FORTIFICATION of Upper Gaia Colony )
The barracks, cells and earthworks of the first and second trading post were built in early April of 2005. These infrastructures have been integrated, plus additions, into a 400-capable garrison, 180-capable prisoner brig cell, and courtyard for 2000+ guests. Under emergencies, this fortification can accommodate a civilian population of two thousands.
FORT ANDREWS is surrounded by 2-exterior trenches, 1-shallow exterior and interior moats, 1-exterior sloped artillery guard wall, 1-exterior 20 ft artillery wall, 2-interior 12 ft walls and, 1-auxilliary wall protecting the courtyard.
The 6-point star configuration allows each 48-walls to flank and support leading walkways and frontal lines.
Each wall is guarded with 2-interior shell/canister cannons with every second lead wall equipped with a heavy anti-infantry cannon. The exterior wall is guarded with long-range anti-siege mortars and long/short range cannons capable of firing cannon balls, shells, cartridges and air-canisters. Infantry above and from the murder holes can fire on all moats and barricades. All walls are equipped with murder holes for infantry defence plans.
The auxiliary wall surrounding the courtyard is the last-stand defence of the entire fortification. Stationed cannons surround the courtyard gate. The Colours and Flags of the fortification are located in the center courtyard as well as all key buildings and garrison housing both personnel (serving & medical) and civilians.
The copper guarded powder room, armouries and stores are capable of fitting 1,050 soldiers, 350 artillerymen and 1,500 naval marines with 62 trained medical personnel & surgeons. Food stocks and supply storages are sustainable for a period of 12 months without re-supply.
There are 3 guarded entrances to the fortification, two via the northeast and southeast walls, and the port connection to the south wall.
There are four newly raised lookout posts on the frontier of the fortification, three overlooks the terrestrial frontier and the double-walled tower overlooks the sea and acts as a lighthouse for merchant vessels. These posts are capable of moderate defence and are for alerting the garrison in case of surprise terrestrial or naval attacks or flanks.
FORT ANDREWS is powered by a merchant donated fusion generators and heated by thermal heating with complete sanitation networks. There are four medical stations (3 in-fort and 1 on the port) and one main hospital adjacent to the courtyard. Military guards or military policing forces guard main civilian junctions within the fort. Encased buried wires connect communications with all points of the fortifications.
