I'm hoping that my wild assumption that this will be a BC model is true, because I will officially refuse to buy a PS3 if it is not. EDIT: Results of my digging...

EDIT: Results of my digging...Why the ******** is Sony being so dense about this? Seriously, it's not like they didn't make model that had full backwards compatibility. There's nothing wrong with the 60gb model. I'm half expecting now for Sony to stop supporting the 60gb model with the updates and such at the rate they're going.

What really pisses me off is that they would only lose $12 a system by putting in the EE from the 60GB model and taking out the WiFi. Ethernet is much better for gaming and transfers, anyway.

The decisions of Playstation on their PS3 has pretty much killed the playstation in my opinion.

There are a lot of people after CoD 4 and GTAIV for PS2, but they will not buy a PS3 that will not play their PS2 games. And given that a lot of big name games are on 360, Sony is losing ground by people expanding into Microsoft's grasp. All I'm saying is that Sony will sell MORE PS3s if they get their BC s**t together, and even though people will play PS2 games on their console, they would be able to lock people in when they release games ONLY for the PS3 rather than make everything in the PS3 library available elsewhere.

*shrug* I have a ps2. It works-beautifully. Ergo if I get a ps3 with no BC I won't seriously care.
