"Come ON, you pain!" Lian was trying to drag his newest little sister around the super market with little success on his end. She was on a toddler leash and was showing her obvious distaste through growling and attempts to claw the thing off. "We need to get you STUFF, dangit!"
"Bunn'!" She snarled, her voice grated with indinant anger. Teeu was trying to dig her feet into the smooth linolium, a move that was failing in epically proportions. She was made for grabbing dry, thick ground, not to scrabble at smooth floors. Teeu was strong but Lian, ever active, older, and with limbs used to hauling his body weight, was stronger.
Teeu let out a squeaking shriek as she tumbled forewards.
"C'mon, Teeu." He was grumbling now. "We need meat for you. And hair gel. And clothes. You're half-naked!"
"No!" She growled, slamming one foot onto the ground. She almost slipped and fell, small arms having to wave out in order to gain her balance. "Lissen me! Bunn! Bunn NOW!"
"After we get the stuff!" He tugged her again, albeit a bit gentler then before. "Please?"
Teeu hesitated, her little face screwed up in contemplation. It wasn't that she didn't WANT new things; she did! But she wanted BUNNY. And wanted it NOW. This way, she could have new things, rabbit, and she had the older male begging for her favor, as he should.
After a moment of intense concentration, she nodded and trotted up to catch up with him. The lack of forcing her made Lian release a harsh breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding previously. Oh, thank god. They started moving in from just the very entrance of the supermarket. Teeu made a beeline towards the clothing, little stocky body squirming.
"Fings." She said firmly. "An' bunn'."

Canti was getting bigger and bigger these days, and Lucas decided that he wouldn't be waiting for the boy's baggy clothes to grow tight like he had the last time. A trip to the supermarket was overdue anyway, so grabbing up the keys to the van and bidding Keiran good luck with the other children, he and Canti set out. Now they were standing in the clothing district of the store. The ant was standing with a sort of adoring patience, all four of his arms spread slightly to his sides while his guardian placed various articles of clothing against him.
"Which plaid do you like better, Canti?" He was beginning to hold them up for debate when a shriek reached his ears. Lucas shuddered visibly, the sound of a child screaming like nails on a chalkboard to him. Moving his head only, he located the source in two furry humanoids, a more mature one dragging a little one along with them. He knew the ant was looking too. He prayed he didn't take it as some sort of example. Canti had been, quite literally, something of a miracle child for him. Always very quiet, always very helpful... but quite impressionable.
Canti looked on silently, blinking. Why was the little one so upset? His antennae quivered passively with the sound, and he slowly lowered his arms as he noticed his guardian was distracted. Slowly, he began stepping in the little girl's direction, as if drawn magnetically.
"Canti..." Lucas protested, but the ant merely looked back at him innocently and pointed to a certain rack. He was just going to go look at those clothes! The brunette frowned- he didn't believe it for a minute.

Canti was lucky he hadn't rushed over to help poor Lian; Teeu was content and wasn't much in the way of being detoured. She had a male doing her bidding and even if she WAS on a harness (she would chew through that thing so very, very soon it wasn't even funny) she was still in charge. Lian was sighing as they got near Canti. He hadn't seen the poor, innocent little ant and thus had no real concept of the other boys interest.
But Teeu had.
The hyena was a dominant female for a good reason: she paid attention to everything and everything was processed with a quick, ruthless blink of her mind. Canti, being male and young and watching her, had been flicked on as a giant beam of light under Threat, Unknown, Male. Her eyes slid to the side as she, and Lian, puttered along. It took a moment but, finally, they passed along the area where Canti, in the boys section, and Teeu made her move.
She caught Lian off guard as she grabbed at her harness and tugged it harshly. The panda yelped as the cloth flew from his paw, thin body grappling after her. It was really of no use as she had the leash dangling from her hands like intestines and she was darting straight over to the ant. He smelled like fellow animal, although like something not as big as herself, and he was male and there.
Poor, poor Canti.
With Lian trying to run after her, Teeu let the harness go and she lept at the fellow D-Corp, fingers flexing and grabbing at him.A heavy thud and she clung.
"MY!"
"CRAP CRAP CRAP! Teeu, get off! TEEU!"

Canti hung on the outskirts of the boy's section, pretending to flip through the clothes rack though his four onyx eyes rested on Teeu and her poor brother. She glanced at him, but seemed not to take too much notice besides. Until she was breaking away from her brother and pelting toward him. His mind fizzled for a moment at her eagerness, something in his gut bubbling in a threat to make him laugh at Lian's resulting face. Worry not, big and fuzzy! If she was coming his way, he was sure to take care of her!
Lucas saw the small dog creature barreling at his son and let out a most undignified squeak, charging toward his son as if he thought he could possibly save him. That little monster was going to ruin him! He knew that intensity, he knew--
As she hit his waist, Canti's lower arms grabbed at the little girl's side. Hoisting her up to his chest and taking her into his upper set of arms, he crooned with what little breath hadn't gone right out of him with her impact. "Hello fuzzlet! Who are you?"

Lian was about to have a damned panic attack. He had been almost, almost able to grab that stupid leash when she had jumped and that little bug thing had caught her and, instead, stumbled to fall flat on his face once more. The red panda was in all sorts of pain today. Stupid sister.
"TEEU!" At least he could try?
The hyena latched out as tightly as humanly possible to the bug-boy - he smelled like a bug, a crawly little thing she sniffed out in her new mothers grass - and burrowed her face into whatever sort of flesh or shell she could reach.
"Fuzzlet?" Her voice was a harsh little growl, a natural thing, not true anger. A squirm and she was peering up at him through loose hair. The hyena was pouting at being caught and not even making the other thing FALL! No fun! " 'M Teeu. In charge!"
Lian finally managed to get his way there, huffing under his breath and hair mussed.
"I am so so so sorry! He's supposed to be on a leash and he's a STRONG little thing and - gah! Teeu, let him go!"
The hyena growled in response.

He couldn't but laugh a little nervously at Lian proceeded to trip all over himself. Wow, he seemed really scared! Wait. He wasn't going to hurt the little one! Maybe that's what the big boy was so worried about. The ant frowned a bit because of the thought, though his attention was quickly taken by Teeu burying her head into his chest. There was indeed a shell there, about an inch thick but semi-pliant. It was not yet fully developed, so he was still susceptible to damage and scrapes. About the best thing it was for was hard impact.
"You have fuzz, you are a fuzzlet," He explained, his fingers daring to itch against the fur of one of her arms. "Teeu, yes? I am Canti! I--"
Lucas was there by now, hovering nearby with clear parental concern. "Canti, give the little... girl back to the nice man."
"What's wrong?" The ant asked bemusedly, his antennae lowering on their own to stroke over the toddler's black locks briefly. He glanced between the two older men, then down to Teeu, as if she might have an answer.

If it was any other person, they'd be panting. Luckily, Lian was more then used to exerting himself and Canti hardly looked to be in danger. She actually seemed to LIKE him. Still, the little monster was a danger to society! Society, damnit!
"He - Teeu bites." He explained in a rush once he was able to breath completely. The older thing seemed worried - good! In Lians opinion, anyway. "Come on, Teeu, stop bothering the poor guy. Please, please don't bite him."
He, Lian! Was almost begging. He had pride... at one point. Some point. This was not that point.
Well, she was a fuzzlet. That, Teeu found, was amusing. A nickname! She had 'hey you!' or 'god, NO!' but those came at weird times and fuzzlet wasn't being screamed at her so it was good. It came from an obedient, quiet boy-insect.
At his question, and Lians splattered response, Teeu bared her teeth at the ant, a low growl sounding in her throat once again. She was scary! That's what was wrong! Then, she smirked, an action that was decidedly not-adorable, and threw her arms around his neck.
"No! Mine! My-" A faltering then, and a fierce little scowl as she struggled to remember the word she had heard barely, an just once, "My Canteen!"

Lian's requests for nonviolence certainly didn't help to calm the photographer any, who was shuffling in place helplessly. He didn't know what to do in this type of situation, was too afraid to interject at the moment. Canti wasn't hurt yet, but damn did it -he?- seem like a little demon prone to turning on its own interests should he make one false move. And so blissfully unaware stood his ant! Lucas ground his teeth.
Canti's first impression was that 'he' was trying to smile at him. Some kids just did that way, he'd seen it before. Even Dyre did this sort of grimace from time to time. His antennae had to flinch a little at the vibration of the growl, though, and one secondary eye quirked itself up his forehead questioningly.
But then her arms were around his neck and he forgot all about it, laughing at his new name of sorts. Canteen! "Ok!" He agreed cordially, and ruffled her hair lightly. He peered at Lian, "We can be shopping together if you want! Right, Lu?"
"Uh...."

"Dude, I'm, like, so friggen sorry. I swear to god he can get super calm, he will be once he gets his way and sh-- stuff," Lian grappled for his little brother, wincing all the more. Teeu squirmed away, clung slightly tighter to his new prize, and nearly felt proud of his new creature for realizing quickly that Teeu was in charge. "Teeu, c'mon, man--"
"Righ'," Teeu nodded, firmly, and snorted in amusement with the hair ruffling. Ha! His new Boy had a sense of humor! Fantastic. He liked that. "Fing's, an' bunn's and my, now," another nod, another twist of his lips for the baredsort of grin. "My Canteen. Get fing's, be awed-some."
Teeu's ears flicked forward and he tugged, firmly, at Canti. "Cloth's and meats! Fing's an' bunns. Yeah? Yeah!"
"I--" Lian stuttered off into silence before sighing, raking his hands through his hair roughly. He threw the only adult a pitying look and, slowly, shrugged, "Dude, I could put the leash back on him but he'd throw another flippin' fit. It's totally easier just to go with it. Dagger's not here to smack the sense into him and he bites when he's ticked off.
"He doesn't look too totes ticked off now, so... Uh, that's like, a real good thing."

Great. Just wonderful. He was dealing with a teenager who clearly didn't know how to keep the reigns on his little brother, much less keep him from trying to maim innocent shop inhabitants! As Lian went about apologizing, Lucas' hazel eyes narrowed more and more, and his teeth began to worry his lower lip.
"How long is this going to take?" He sighed in the red panda's direction, one of his brows twitching.
"Yes!" Canti echoed with a small laugh, ignorant to what the older boys were saying. He began to walk when he was pulled, Teeu in his arms. "This way?" He questioned the younger boy, even as he began weaving through the clothing racks.
