She had taken one of the little ones away from her mate and the others. If they were going to learn anything they each needed a bit of time learning with out their siblings. They were distracted otherwise. Cubs were too playful to teach in groups when you really wanted to impress something into their minds.
Thankfully they were all learning fast. They seemed bright, at least in their minds, and without the influence of others out here they were easy minds to impress upon without question.
"What i am going to tell you, little one, are things you will need to remember for the rest of your life." Thankfully the little white cub was already looking up at her. A few good swipes with her paws had taught all of them when to pay attention. 
Her ears perked slightly at her mothers words and she nodded. If it was something she needed to remember she'd listen. If she didn't listen she knew what would come and she didn't like that idea one bit

Once she knew she had the cubs attention she continued. "When we return home things will be far more strict than they are here. You will have more to contend with than just myself and your mother." She knew the little cubs fate when she was born. She knew her soul had done something to cause itself great dishonor and it was her job to teach Kiji how to repair that. She would make sure that the blood of her clan would prosper in it's new lives to come.
"You will be given a rank and you will be trained to hunt. You will uphold everything they give you with everything you have."
She almost remembered something her mothers had mentioned about ranking. Not enough to really understand it but she remembered it. They'd said something about how the white was going to lessen she and her siblings rank. Since she was more white than any of them she had known then that she'd be at the bottom.
"I will be a hunter?"

She nodded. "You can not hope for anything more than the Shikkar-i rank. You were not blessed like the others." At least, even if he was male, they had one blessed cub. "You in a life before caused yourself a great dishonor and this is your punishment. It is not to be taken lightly but if you can prove yourself honorable and make the most of what you are given you will be as bright as any when your soul takes form again"
She paused a moment to look over the cub. "You will be a strong hunter. You have your mothers' strength to look up to"
She couldn't remember ever doing anything bad but she wasn't going to question what her mother said. It was probably one of those things that she was getting told but wouldn't really understand until later.
She liked the idea of getting to be a hunter though. She'd watched her mothers do it before and it looked like something nice to do. Getting to chase down something to bring back to feed everyone with.

"But that is all you will be, whether it be a hunter to kill for food or a hunter to protect the pride." She looked back at the cub sternly. "You will never do anything to dishonor myself, your mother, your siblings, or yourself. Your actions may reflect back upon all of us, remember that."
She gulped slightly and nodded. She didn't want to cause any harm to the rest of her family and her mother looked very serious.
"I will do whatever i can to bring honor to all of you, and myself in the process." She nodded again once she was sure of herself. She wanted to be bright and colorful like her mothers. She wanted that some day.

When the little cub nodded she smiled slightly. "Now ... as to the matter of your clan. Your actions will also reflect upon any who choose to follow your Mother and I. The entire clan can gather shame and honor depending on the actions of one."
Her tail ticked behind her as she thought about things like that. There had been some when she was younger that doubted her skills but she had easily proven them that she was worthy of the gift her own mother had bestowed upon her. She had taken the drive her mother had given her and started her own clan. One that had prospered until the plague.
She watched her mothers tail move and was almost tempted to pounce on it. She knew better though. Playing while she was suppose to be learning would just get her in trouble.
"Mother ... Do you think i will be able to be good enough? I'm not bright like you or Mum."

She paused a moment at the cubs question. Kiji had always been willing to listen to whatever she said and seemed to learn fast. Generally she didn't like it when her word was questioned but the little cub had so far done nothing but learn from her questions.
"If you listen to everything i teach you and you do not dishonor yourself or others then i believe you can. You must work your whole life at it though and it will not come easy. You will be tested for whatever wrongs you have made before"
She scrunched her nose slightly as she listened to that. She didn't have a whole lot of experience to go on so far but it had worked so far. So long as she listened to her mothers and did as she was told she hadn't gotten in too much trouble or gotten hurt.
"I want to be big and strong like you and Mum ...." If she could be big and strong then maybe she'd get to be brighter too. She could be brighter than her brother even!

"Learn and act well and you will be." She could tell she was starting to loose the cub's attention. She'd seen the little one watching her tail and knew that it wouldn't take much more before she lost interest in the lessons. She could call it over for now. She knew well enough that no cub would learn things only being told them once.
She would make sure that the little ones always knew. That they were taught all the way up until they were adults and were strong enough on their own to live their own lives.
"That is it for today ... you can go find your sister to pounce on." She nudged the cub over with a paw and back toward where the others were.
Her eyes brightened as she was tumbled over and told she could go play. "Yee!" Scrambling up to her feet and bounded off toward her siblings and Mother.
She wasn't going to forget though, at least she hoped not. She'd just have to as her sister what she got told too. Maybe they got told a lot of the same things and could talk about it! That would be nice. Then she wouldn't be stuck learning alone all the time.
