Daemonascus was growing older still, if not in body, in mind, memory, wisdom of that he once had in a previous life, a life with the goddess that seemed to smile when time spent together was frequent. He too smiled, arrogance was not overly bearing outwardly, showing his ego, his extensive pride he held in himself. The only trace of it that was seemingly overbearing was how he believed he was the best for Ryu'Rage, that she was his to protect.
More memories were beginning to come back to him, more images. Though what was blurry was how it ended, how his past life had ceased to exist, he, living in limbo in air in the god's haven until his time came to be reborn.
He sought her out, and wished to know how, and why.
She was happier now, her own spawn grown, though the twins seemed uncaring, her white pelted daughter, distant. Ryujin, purest of black tried to get close, but the connection was fragile, but another connection had been sparked as it had in a time before when smiles were forever frequent upon her maw, when life was happy, when she was expecting a family...but it had changed.
He wished to speak to her today, Daemonascus, Daemon, how fate had played a trick on her to have him reborn from her literal sister amused herself, and she knew it would only bring up questions and dramatic instances later. She feared what he wished to know, but knew it was only right to let him know on what he wished to ahve return to his conscious.
So she waited by the cicada tree, where they had since spent many moments together already.
He saw her then as his paws had him approach in mere silence. The sun was setting now, the sky lighting up in pale colors of fire, soon would dwindle to pale purples, red losing its fire dimming to pink, then night would come with rich midnight blues scattered with glowing lights of stars. He smiled, blue cerulean eyes upon her, wings upon his back folded, as well as the ones that adorned his forearms, "Rage," he spoke quietly as he approached.
Their relationship was strange, no one would quite understand as well as they, and Nix'Annada would. He snickered to himself internally, Nix, a best friend from a past life now his rebirth mother, how fate twisted lives by choice. He came to her side, rested on his haunches beside her, his small form a great difference to her large silhouette,
"I'm glad you came tonight....I was worried you might now want to..."
Ryu'Rage smiled sincerely at him, drew a wing over him and pulled him closer to her side. She curled around his form, licked his cheek, became the outward shielded between him and the world as he had done for her in the past. With his size and strength, he had kept her safe many a moonlit night in times past. "I have come haven't I?" though she had been nervous, she would not deny that to herself, and she stayed silent for a moment, watching as the sky evoled into night slowly in pace.
"What was it you wanted to know this night? I have told you a lot already, and soon your memories will filter back and you will know any fine detail I had not mentioned, but what flees from your memory now that intrigues you so much Daemonascus?" his name rolling off from her tongue.
She worried, her fragile heart twisting in her chest.
He listened, and snuggled against her side letting his legs splay out beside him as he leaned against her side, her warmth. Images of past moments filtered in his mind of moments of this, he remembered them fondly now. to think he had not remembered such a sweetness before, time was irrelevant to him, he wished to remember it all.
But one thing had brought it all to an end, one thing had brought him into this cycle, one thing had brought all those lovely moments to an end, but immortality brought him back to relive it again fondly, and to see why it had happened, to know the truth that he could not remember.
"How...how did it end?" his life, their life together.
Rage closed her eyes and buried her head between his back and her side, silver eyes not wanting o be seen, she could feel the sting of tears beginning to arise. No, tears were gone, she would not let them grace her again after the last moment they streaked down her cheeks, no. No pain, whether physical or emotional, or how it tormented her would make her feel such a pain again.
"I wish you would remember, I don't want to speak of it," she said softly, but knew she would have to. She made a promise to him, long before his rebirth, that everything would be theirs together, that they were one.
"The control I had slipped from me, from everything melding together..." she did not want to speak of it, where she had spilt the blood of her love on the sand dunes where he tried to save her and she could not see.
Daemonascus felt her hide herself, and her turned his head, watched her as she felt ashamed, "No, no, do not hide from me, whatever had happened has long been forgiven darling," he spoke calm, soothingly to her. He placed a lick on her cheek lightly, attempting to coax her from her hiding.
Control...
One of the parts of the mix that had brought it all together. He had already remembered her ordeal with it, how he and Nix together were both able to help her. Nix, by power, lightning to bring Rage into silence, blackness until her torn soul would calm. And he, he, with love, to sooth the savage trial within her that tore at her internally.
He knew of their daughter he had never seen.
"Please, please tell me..."
Rage could feel the surge inside of her, the twisting and battle for power and control of herself now. A part of her was deeply angered by his question, his mentioning of that moment, the other wished to stay silent, say it all, and feel safe within his presence. "It was the same day of my loss..." she spoke first, in tongue. "The day I lost my family, watched them be taken from me, watched their blood spill and taint my wings for all time..."
She didn not show her eyes, but let him get close, comfort, warmth, she felt safe.
"Its hard then, on the anniversary of that day, for the control to stay, for the darkness in me to stay buried beneath my light, that moment came back to me again and again, and I could not see the world for what it was then, only that moment..."
Daemonascus remembered her speaking of that day when Nix was describing her inability of control, how that moment had torn her in two, how she, at such a young age, experienced something no mortal or immortal should face in all eternity.
he knew that Rage had been pregnant with his child, she had told him, they were happy, expecting a family, expecting to live in peace and control with tiny paws running around them, those to teach to fly and to keep grounded level heads.
"What then...?" he coaxed still, but kept close to her, closed his eyes as well.
"It was too much, the battle inside, the turmoil I felt in my heart, it hurt, I couldn't breath, it felt as if I was slipping into where those only of evil souls and sin would reside. I felt a fire in me, and I felt more, white was torn fro the darkness, enveloped, eaten alive it felt like..." she didn't wish to say it, say why she believed it had occured.
"Inside she was growing, learning already before even taking her first breath, Wrath consumed me from the inside out, and I could not escape. I fled from Nix, afraid she would hurt her, hurt our cub by trying to stop me. But you chased me, and I could not stop," brink of a breakdown, of tears spilling from ehr eyes, pain gripped her as she saw the moments where her own claws dug into the flesh of her beloved.
"Its why I...why I had to seal her away from me, I could not see her and not see you, what I had done..."
Now he knew, torment and heart ache, pain, it lost it for her, she lost control and could not contain what was growing inside of her. "Its alright," he said softly, "Its alright," he licked her forehead, the corner of her eyes, he could taste the saltiness of the tears she refused to let fall.
"No matter what happened then, not matter what you, or any had done in the past, we are again together, and I will not leave you, ever. No death or rebirth could ever keep you from me," his small paws lifted her chin to look at him, her eyes opened to look at his, gleaming, his eyes softened looking into her silver pools, "I was not done loving you then, nor will I ever be, I will always love you, nothing will keep me from you...nothing..." he was silent again, curled close to her, held one of her arms in between his own, he was not large as he was in the past, but soon that would change.
One thing would never change, his love for her, and how he would always be with her, and find her again, no matter what might try to tear them apart.
Rage could not bring herself to speak after his words, she merely closed her eyes again, relief filled her heart and the beast inside of her calmed and resumed its mindful calm path with the light of her.
Innocence still remained.
In silence they stayed, and slept, and no matter what morn they would wake, they would forever have one another, she would see to that...always.
