As the sun set off the horizon, a small mare could be seen standing on a hill carved into a large valley, watching the hues of orange, red and yellow cover the sky before her. Not only did Mother Nature work her magic to the fullest each night, but she seemed to want to grace the mare that appreciate her work. The colors of the sun set matched the colors that she wore, it was as though she could grow wings, fly out there, and blend right in.
But the mare was grounded, so all she could do was stare at the sky with her copper eyes. Although, that didn't bother her much. The forest, the valley, the field...anything that related to ground was equally as pretty. Every patch of green or brown, the smell of pine, wood and oak. It was all amazing. Actually, no word could describe it and give it justice. The scenery, the land in which she lived was simply put, the greatest gift that the gods could give anyone.
And the creatures? Oh! All the birds, the raccoons, the mountain lions, bears, rabbits, squirrels...everything! Each and every creature had reasons to be on earth just like her and her kind, and it was just unbelievable how so many different animals could exist. Of course, some were dangerous and she avoided them at all costs, but they were still mystical.
Her mind wandered so far into the subject of how beautiful the world was, Epesi didn't realize the sunset was over and done with until the land went completely dark, with only a few stars in the sky. "Oh!" She giggled to herself, slightly disappointed that she hadn't been paying all that much attention to it but it's not as though she could change it now.
Oh! Darn! Crap!
Arque, her familiar bear had gone off into the forest some time ago, and Epesi forgot to tell him to meet her back at the base of the hill, so now the mare found herself alone in the dark. Hopefully someone would come and entertain her, if not...well no problem! She could easily do it herself!!
