I was wondering if anyone knows any secrets for growing your hair longer and keeping it healthy. I heard cutting your hair every so often is a good idea, but I also heard that it doesn't make your hair grow though. Hair growth pills?

Cutting your hair every 2 months helps prevent split ends, so that your hair wont break off, and look all icky and stuff. Masaging your scalp works, because you make the blood flow better, and so your hair will grow more. Standing on your head for about 10 minutes does the same thing supposedly Using moisturizing products helps So does eating healthier. There's a vitiman that helps with both hair and nails. Im not sure what it is. but im sure if you search, you can easily find info about it, like on webmd.com or something; and buy it at Walgreens. 3nodding

+ Beta-Carotene from fruits and vegtables is important for healthy hair, likewise goes for protein from fish, eggs, ect. + Eatting soy is also supposedly good for hair growth. + Also, getting a good nights sleep should help with maintainance of the body, thus producing healthy hair. +Get a good quality shampoo and conditioner, just be careful of some that may tend to dry out your scalp and such.
Some no-brainer stuff, but eh, I hope it at least helped a little. ninja

(dont rub your forehead though it could cause pimples.)

My hair is to my lower back, I used "Garnier Fructic Long & Strong" for shampoo and conditioner and I also take "Hair, Skin and Nails Formula" vitamins. You can get them at any vitamin store or health place I'm sure. I'm also on a diet, eating more salmon, fruits, vegetables and I drink around 1 gallon of water a daily or at least try to. I also cut out sugar and carbohydrates. The reason I'm on this diet is to help my skin mostly but I also want to break a record for my hair. xP So far I've seen a big difference in my skin in a week and my hair as well. Though it's hard to tell what my actual hair length is since I keep curling it when it's already kind of curlish wavy. ><;
A long with everyone else says, this should help your hair grow longer faster and healthier. <3
The only thing is that for me, it's hard to go on such a diet when my family eats like little piggys and they are afraid that I will lose wait since I'm only 98 pounds but I actually think I gained 2 pounds. o.o Going on this kind of diet is okay as long as you eat enough. You may not have to follow the diet exactly but just keep up healthy habits, be active, and get enough sleep.

I really don't know what to tell ya o.o;

Cutting your hair does help it grow faster, but trim it every month or two. By eliminated split ends you allow nutrients to easily enter your hair thus helping it grow.
By the by, hair is just dead skin cells.
I would recommend buying shampoos like Garnier Fructis that have longer and stronger because it's supposed to help ur hair grow and by making it stronger it will seem to grow faster and not break so much.

one essential suggestion- TIE YOUR HAIR BACK WHEN YOU SLEEP. this keeps it from knotting up and makes it alot more manageable. heart

Wash it every day with moisturizing shampoo, use conditioner, deep condition the ends every other day, and get a trim once a month.
= my hair is almost at my waist.

Umm.. How would trimming your hair make it grow faster? That makes no sense whatsoever. Your hair grows from the root so I don't see how chopping bits off the othe end is gonna help anything. Sure it'll keep you from getting split ends but as for growing faster? If you cutting hair off that means less length which means more time needed to grow it out.
There isn't really anything you can do to speed up your hair growth much. The only thing you can do is make sure you stay as healthy as possible that way your hair gets everything it needs to grow and look nice.
It's too bad there's no miracle solution, I'd sure go for it! I'm currently trying to grow my hair out after having my head shaved. *laughs* Yeah, I have a long way to go! I found a way to help myself get through that unpleasant stage where your hair is long enough to be annoying but not long enough to do anything with though. My sister-in-law gave me braided hair extensions. It's not as good as real hair but it's better than nothing. xd

My hair grows really fast as it is, so I have to re-dye my roots often. crying Since about 4 weeks ago, I have like a half-inch of roots grown in. Maybe I'm some sort of supersonic hair freak. xd
