-- RP Log between Kenna, Kimau and Azula ((DFA and Kisoni))

It was vaguely frustrating how she'd been.... degraded, per say, into a messenguer in just a few hours. Despite the frustration though, there was also a vague sort of mirth that shone in the queen's eyes as she padded the desert. Every now and then, she turned her head to make sure the black, brown and white figure that had been trailing behind her, was still there. Not like the smaller male could have gotten away from even if she'd been looking away, but still, looking at him brought a smirk to her maw each and every time.

Kenna was amused. Her sister's first slave would be a mistweaver. Highly fitting, in her opinion; Mwali had caught the slightly younger male just outside mistweaver territory and had practicaly dragged him back. The queen already had a slave, and had no need whatsoever for another; while she believed slaves were good to have around, she did not approve of having too many. It made the firekin weak. Idly padding along, she wondered where Azula had gotten her to.

Meanwhile, the younger male still trailed behind the red pelted queen, defiance shinning in his brown eyes, even despite the beating he'd recieved when being dragged out of his home. He was no fool though, and did not try to escape. Not yet. He'd wait his chance.

Azula was cleaning herself. There really wasn't much else for a female of her position to do--though she had opted to take a patrol out of sheerest bordom. Her duty was over for the day, however, and she'd moved on to the rocky cave she sometimes shared with the Queen, lounging a top it as she worked a shine into her brilliant red pelt. Yet her thoughts were preoccupied.

Being inside the pride's territory when off duty was becoming unusal for her. More and more Azula had been running off into the border lands, and especially the gutter between simo and sufi. Her aggitation drove her there, as well as her bordom and a general feeling of not belonging. It all linked, of course, to her fateful meeting with their half-brother, a subject shehad yet to confront their father about.

So preoccupied in thought was she that she didn't notice her sister's presence until the other lioness was almost upon her. Had it been anyone else that may have been a fatal mistake and Azula mentally damned herself for it. "Sister," She greet Kenna rather informaly, lifting her head as if she hadn't been surprised by the sudden appearance of Kenna and... a slave. What slave she didn't know, but a slave obviously. "Its early yet, is something wrong?" It was just as unusual for kenna to be free to come back to "their" lair before dawn.

"Hardly anything ever goes wrong here," aside from the fact that they were not within their home land - that was a problem that Kenna was still working on. There was hardly anything she could do about it at the present moment though, and even when she knew deep down in her heart that she should be fighting for her rightful home... her instincts told her that the rebels outnumbered them. It would be suicide, and as queen, she could not allow the few loyal to the blood and goddess to die out. Not in a useless battle, even if the bloodshed would have been.... fascinating, "I bring you a present, actually," and this said, the queen nudged the younger male forward with a n** against his neck, a rough movement she hardly ever had to use against her own slave... after all, Zap had been well trained since cubhood and knew no other life than that what he'd been dragged into.

This new male offered mild resistence before stepping forward and then looking away, ears lowered, refusing to meet either of the females' eyes.

"Father got him for you. He says he's Mistweaver."

"really?" Azula purred, head and ears lifting simultaneously with this new... development. "Father attmepting to win my favour back is he?" The last was muttered, for even she knew that Mwali didn't give a damn about that--he probably took his daughter's sudden absense at his side as a welcome relief from having to "deal" with her. It wasn't something she wished Kenna to point out, even if it were the truth.

Azula slipped fluidly from the top of the den to the level which her sister and new aquisition were standing. He was about their age, she thought, if woefully tiny. That was normal for slaves, however, even Zaphod hadn't quite reached teh girl's size. "Mm... a little puny.. but that's all fitting with their type, i suppose..." She circled him slowly, eyes roaming over his fur and build as a human merchant might have inspected a horse she was set to buy.

"Mmm.... I have no clue. He dropped the thing by my side and told me he could not find you. Then he asked me if I could deliver him over to you," a sneer was in her voice, almost as if she still couldn't quite believe she'd been .... degraded to such a chore, "Honestly, sometimes I wonder if father is going senile..." while back in the day Kenna would never have dared say such things, recent developments had taught her that her parents weren't 'perfect'. That aside, as far as she was concerned, she was the highest authority, and she had a right to vent to her sister; after all, Azula was the only soul Kenna trusted fully, "He looks agile enough though; perhaps he shall be a good hunter. That aside, I must admit his pelt is much nicer than Zaphod - at least there is black and white predominating the browns."

Kimau managed to keep himself still, even if he did bristle horribly at the words that slipped the females' mouths. These... good for nothing BRATS! How DARE they imply he was puny?! His dad was a GOD (alas, something he'd only recently discovered himself, and in a way the trigger to the current course of events - why had he EVER ran away in blind rage after such a stupid arguement?!).

"Hmm that is true." Azula nodded to herself, circling about. "Perhaps he is going Senile.. though I'm not quite certain he was ever whole to begin with.."

The 'Princesses' words were distant as if thinking something over. Indeed such blasphemy against Mwali wasn't something that anyone would have ever expected of any of his children, but knowing what these two now did... something were neigh irreparable. Azula faced Kimau and lifted a paw to his chin, "Show your teeth, boy."

"Perhaps this is true too," rather than interrupt her sister as she examined her merchandise, the Queen sat herself down to the side, licking her tongue between her digits. While she was not as much as a neakfreak as Azula herself was, Kenna still liked to keep herself clean and as arranged as posible. The couple of scars that littered her body the only thing that marred the perfection that was her frame (in her honest opinion anyhow).

Kimau for his part manages to glare at Azula, but seeing as how he wasn't a glutton for punishment (he'd recieved enough of it to last him a lifetime, thank you much), he did as was ask, opening his mouth for the female to look into. He had half a mind of snapping it shut around the perfect paw that gripped his chin though, and had to keep himself from doing just that.

"Hmm.." Azula eyed the teeth then nodded and let him go. "Good, good.. He'll do."

The lioness turned then to move aside and lay beside her sister, lounging with her head against her sister's back paws. She waved a lazy paw at her new slave, "Well you might as well begin learning your place, boy, and there's a spot on my back that's hard to reach." That said, she turned her attention to more important individuals, "More than likely, when you add in certain factors. How are our idiot brothers? I haven't seem much of them these past few moons."

Another sneer ripped her features, "I have no clue. Most don't approach me; they're busy with their new lives... or resent the fact I was chosen. Or simply have other things to do. I don't know, and care not to find out," she waved a paw as if to emphasise this, then lay her head down near her sister's paws, "I have more impoortant things to think about - like what the hell we're going to do to get our home land back ... when we're so horribly outnumbered," she spoke the last words as if sickened by the fact; how could the TRUE firekin be outnumberd? How was it posible? "I grow weary or these lands. But can not risk lossing the few of us that remain loyal to our ways."

Seething mildly, Kimau managed to look away, embarrased by what he was being asked; humilated by the fact he'd suddenly been.... downgraded to THIS. Alas, he did not talk, and did not give them the sattisfaction of fighting back; instead, he drew nearer and set himself to work upon Azula's back, grooming it with clear inexperience.

Azula snorted, "Its a sad day for our kind, yes... the only clear way is to increase our numbers, but if the Goddess has a way intended for that she certainly hasn't made it clear." Azula tried to pretend that she wasn't have serious doubts as to wether they were actually meant to continue this way, and thought she'd succeded fairly well.

She winced a little at the inexperienced teeth working matts out of her back and gave one low, warning growl.

"A way..." another snort, "The only way I see would be to allow our superior blood to mingle with that of rogues," a pause as she lifted her gaze to the sky, grimacing, "But that shall only make for our downfall... since our blood would thin - isn't that what makes mogrels, mongrels? I can not allow that to happen."

Of course, Azula was right; if the Goddess had a plan... if this was a test... if there was something to be done, Kenna could not yet see the answer. There was no light in the dark, that she could see, and it was deeply frustrating. More so frustrating was the fact that some of the pride members seemed to have accepted their fate... this new land and seemed not to mind the fact they had been driven out. Indeed, Azula was smart enough that Kenna never saw through the lie, even if she herself was not sure of understanding the way things were meant to be; she had to be strong though, "I wonder..." it was the only hint though, that she might not entirely agree with what had been set upon her.

Was this their downfall? Were they doomed? "If we do not mingle our blood with others though, we are doomed to die. I know this. I know you do too. I wonder, what our fate is. Is this our fate?" a growl was issued, as if she did not agree with such a fate; she would fight teeth and claw against it.

The growl from the smaller of two sisters was recieved with a whince and then with a glare; it wasn't his fault he'd never groomed someone before! Despite the many curses that flooded his mind, Kimau kept trying to clean Azula's back.

Azula sighed, nose wrinkling, "Frankly, sister dear, the mere thought of allowing an unclean mongrel to mount me is enough to drive me off the nearest cliff." She practically gagged upon saying it--and yet there was that tingling in the back of her skull which told her it might be the only way. Certainly there should be a compromise! "Perhaps she merely needs to know that we are dedicated and loyal to her yet. Then she may provide an answer."

Despite herself, Kenna could not keep the mild smirk off her maw upon her sister's words, "Indeed - hence the idea is void. You would not have it. I would not have it. I will not subject the pride to such a degrating.... idea if I would not be able to take it."

After a moment she looked up to the sky, her eyes narrowed, "Perhaps the answer would be... to seek out the goddess in question," then again, she had never quite understood such... blind faith and devotion to someone that she could not see... could not feel and thus, could not fully trust. Never would she voice such thoughts though. Then again, so long she remain strong and followed the beliefs and kept her thoughts to herself, it did not truly matter.

Azula lifted her ears, "That is an idea to think on, Sister." She answered after a moment, then turned her head, "Slave work with the grain. Really, i thought your people were supposed to be more intelligent than this?"

She rolled her eyes and shook her head as she again faced Kenna, "We might consider that. It isn't an idea I'd go tossing about the pride just yet, however. You know how some of these fanatics can get."

"I know that the few left here... are mostly old, though loyal. I met Ripuka the other day. She's scarred from the battle... limps," loyal, indeed, but right now, useless in that she could do nothing with what she had, to regain their rightful lands, "A fight would be a massacre right now. I feel frustrated," a pause and a sigh, then she turned her head and sneered at the slave, "Idiot," she mouthed with venguence as she aimed a bite at Kimau's maw; an attack the male just barely avoided by falling backwards, "Perhaps my boy can teach him; he's ruining your pelt, dear sister," and this said, Kenna lapped at the pelt the slave had managed to disarrange out of perfection.

Azula was the only lioness Kenna would ever think of grooming within the pride.

Kimau merely stared from his place on the ground.

"Well they'll meet soon enough, i'm certain." Azula didn't even move an inch during this, knowing that even if she could have said something against Kenna's treatment of her slave she wouldn't have. Kenna could do most anything she pleased, and it was wonderful to have someone grooming her who actually had a notion of what they were doing. When Kenna began, Azula leaned in to kick her sister's cheek affectionately. "You shouldn't let your frustrations get to you. Find something to work them off... that useless lump of a seer, for instance. I always said he'd work better with a few slaps. Of course, this one will as well."

Grooming her sister was, in fact, a rather nice way to rid her frustrations, she noticed. It was true she shouldn't have treated the slave as she had, but in her defense, she was wound up more than she'd ever been (That much was obvious; the queen seemed to be more frustrated and nervous than usual - no doubt too much thinking on her part), "Perhaps that would be good; we could arrange some sort of hunting trip, the two of us and them. The game will kick them around for us," this thought in mind, she closed her eyes and tended carefuly to Azula's pelt, relaxing as the seconds went by, her head only turning to n** at her sister's paw mildly when the pads hit her cheek.

He couldn't believe this. He simply could not believe this; what was wrong with these lionesses? Devoid an explanation, he flattened his ears back and merely watched the earth by his feet.

Azula merely laughed in return, a joyful sound completely out of place with what anyone else would have considered 'normal' in the circumstances. She was happy, though, for the first time in a long time, and stretched herself out lazily as she allowed her sister to do as she pleased.
