Casey Mears will be announced as the driver of the 07 Jack Daniel's Chevrolet for the 2009 season next week at Bristol. General Mills does not want Mears in their car due to his partnership with Kellogg's. Bowyer will be driving the #33 General Mills car. And also RCR is going to petition that the 07 points from this year go to the 33 for 2009 so Bowyer is guaranteed his spot in the first 5 races.

Richard Childress has prematurely announced Casey Mears will drives the 07 car in the 2009 season. He made the announcement on friday instead of the suppose to be announcement at 3:30 pm E.T. on Saturday.

probably, i don't really care if mears goes there, i don't expect him to really be any different than he is now. He's lucky to still be offered top rides.

I think Mears will do a little bit better. RCR hasn't been extremely dominant in recent years. But I do like them for their consistency.
PS: Is the #33 car gonna be co-owned by Kevin Harvick or something???

I haven't heard that at all. RCR is not a championship organization, they are consistent most of the time yes, but consistent top 15 or top 10. You need to be a bit better than that to win a championship. They don't have what they need this year.

they would be ranked number four in the top teams of nascar right now so i would say they are a championship team, they aren't having magical years like busch or edwards is, that's all. Harvick and Burton could win a championship realistically.to say they are not a championship organization is very ignorant. If they can finish in the top 10 in points, they can win a championship.

There are a lot of top 10 capable teams that will never win a championship.

You cannot say that because anyone CAN win a championship, Harvick has been close to winning championships in years past, burton an harvick had a great shot in 06, and bowyer had a great year last year. All it takes is to hit it right and have good luck, any team that is in the top 10 can do that, most don't because things put them out of it. Actually had harvick not blown an engine at dover he probably would have won the 06 championship.

Yes they had a top 10 well top 5, but did they win the championship, NO. Mark Martin is an example of this. He is a driver that will never be forgotten, but he has never won a championship with Roush. I am in proper place to say that.

I didn't mean to be disrespectful, I was just saying. Plus that used to be Dale's team, so you know they're kick a**!

That did used to be Dales team, but they could be better. They are one of those teams that I'm kinda waiting for to have an outstanding year and win the championship.

And also the fact that Harvick just flat out quit at Atlanta stare . I do believe that RCR can win a championship, however to say that they could outrun hotfoot...is a lil unrealistic. And to be honest... I don't see what RCR sees in Casey.. he had some good runs with Chip but..uhh..thats it... I really would have chosen Scott W. over him. However lets all be real... the only reason he was choosen is so Austin has a warmed up ride for when he goes full time.

Yeah pretty much, with him starting in the NNS soon. I think they should have gone for David Reutimann.

They were but David resigned with MWI. He wanted Dario... but he went back to the IRL. Scott wasn't cutting it in the mach races they ran the 33. So aside from Sauter, Riggs and now Patrick..who is left and capable?

They should've taken truex. Mears probably will be the first one out of rcr too, which is kind of the way his career has been.

RCR is a good team that likes to work with the driver, I think they will be good.
