I'm intrested in buying my first effect pedal, and want opinions on how to spend my $100. I was looking at some wah wah pedals, but for the same price, a found a multi effect box w/ wah wah (delay, flanger, chorus, etc.). It seems like the later option gives me more for my money, but I don't want to buy junk with terrible quality. Anyone have expierience with this?

well sorry for the no replys lol.
honestly multi-effect pedals are just a hastle and don't sound nearly as good as a conventional stomp box. also digitech is s**t unless you're talking whammy pedal. they make the best whammy pedal souls can buy!
and for wah pedal depending on the sound you want i would recomend:
blues/funk/rock: vox clyde mccoy wah
hard rock/metal: dunlop original crybaby
thrash/proggressive metal: zack wylde wah.
*note
i also heard from forgotten source that the weeping demon is nice.

Thanks! Thats just what I needed. I had my eye on the 'weeping demon' but I thought it was just a third company knockoff. lol

I'd say stomps are better. It costs more money overall, but the tone is better, with more character between different brands and models, while multi fx usually just sound like over-processed crap to me.

Thanks, thats what i was afraid of. Another thing, my amp has overdrive, but are distortion pedals worth the buy? I can get some good sound (I think) with it (it is a starter amp), but I didn't know if for standard pro distortion pedals were used or amp distortion (I ask because my dad thinks its maddness to own more than one guitar or amp, lol).
