Sitting alone in thought,
The air aglow in dim light,
One word is spelled out before me.
And as my hand disrupts the shimmer,
I wipe away what is that should not be.
Dragon-Bound welcomes you to Will it really all come to this?
Does this one word define the future?
I say nay.
I cannot draw upon those threads.
The past I may reach, the present search.
But the future cannot be held by these hands of mine.
I will watch as the future becomes the past,
As each moment ticks by,
More becomes open to my eyes.
And yet the word appears again...

Rules that should need no explanation - No Godmoding - - Be friendly out of character - - Post when you are required according to the category your character falls under - - Follow Gaia TOS - - Be fair with me as I run this rp and I will treat you with all due fairness in return - - If worse comes to worse, as Rp Manager, I have final say - Rp Notes Young Dragons & TravelingAs many of you know, the ability to travel is heavily effected by two things: age and the ability to fly. I know this can hamper some possibilities for those who have hatchlings involved. As many of the PC's will be hatchlings and younglings, you'll have to pardon me if I play a little trial and error here with how to bring dragons that young to be involved in the story. Character Involvement Your character is only as involved as you want them to be. Play true to your character's personality and enjoy the situations they bring upon themselves due to that personality. This is all we ask. For example, I have seen a player (not here) create a loner character only to be upset when no one wanted to interact with his character later. I just want everyone to keep in mind that the kind of character you play will affect how they interact with others. Attendance & If You Need To Go On HiatusAlso, you are only as involved as what is required of you. Be a leader, a follower, or some other combination - but over all do something or don't complain later. If you don't post and it's holding up everyone else, the story will push on without you. If Real Life issues should force you to post less or have to go on hiatus, that's no problem. Life works that way sometimes. Either find a way to have your character step out of the rp. If they are playing a prominent part, I will try and help find a way for your character to do so without jarring the rp too much. DangersInjury and failure are possible just as success and gain is possible. Death CAN happen, but since I cannot guarantee credit for a new dragon cert, it will probably be closer to a near death experience or it won't be permanent death unless you chose it to be. I wouldn't take any near-death experiences lightly though... Just like in Heritage, if your dragon is entering into a dangerous situation, there will be roleplay warnings and chances to escape from danger. If your dragon chooses to remain in danger and injury/death is the result, you will get to see what happens. In short, take this as a disclaimer that things may not all go your way. I will be running the NPC’s and have a hand in the events of the game on either the Dragon-Bound or Jayara account. Who can JoinAs long as it won't conflict with the events that have already happened in Heritage, anyone dragon, dragon-bound, or human can join as long as they fill out the application. You don't have to be trying to Ascend or Fall to join - you can play for fun. How to JoinApply in the Rp Wanted thread by filling out and posting the form there. Then post in the shop letting me know you've done so. I will then get back to you when I can.

Rp Groups & Requirements This section has changed since the start of the SRP because my RL job schedule changed early on and so I've made adjustments. Instead of telling everyone they have three or so days to post when they're needed to respond in the rp, we're making it a bit more simple. We have deadlines. About every 3-4 days (give or take some), I will put up a post to forward the story as well as the date my next post will be made. Everyone has until that date to put up their replies or to sit out if they'd like with their characters. Characters may also carry on their own activities/conversations with other pc's if they wish during this time. Forewarning, the definitions and requirements are subject to change at any time in order to better the RP. I will try to give you fair warning though. Currently it is in experimental mode so please bear with me. As has been mentioned before, you are only as involved in the SRP as much as your character makes themselves involved. If you post regularly and in depth, you will see more of the story swing to involve you.

Cream and orange tabby colored. Supports Hhyntar. Cassuthan - an old dragon who likes to tell the young ones tales. Whether those stories have any sort of truth or not to them has been the subject of debate for dragons for many a bored night. Some quietly think that he might be going senile in his late age but do not say much more than that seeing as he doesn't seem to be doing anyone harm. Cassuthan's bound died long ago and the story about that seems to be the one tale he won't tell... Hhyntar - Adult fallen dragon of a black and tan color. One of the dragons believed to be in the running if Soldar is replaced though he's not the most enthusiastic of that idea. Kubleret - one of the dragons currently on watch duty Lekkim - a gray-blue hatchling that seemed physically healthy out of the egg, but is obviously a little different mentally. He his easily distracted by his own little world, thus putting him at some distance from other dragons, sometimes lashing out when he is disturbed. Though he is intelligent for a dragonet his age, his lack of focus makes most see him as more of a burden to the other older dragons. Sharanya seems to specifically dote upon Lekkim though more than any other younger dragon that has come before him. While all say that the little dragon needs to be watched more than the others, some wonder if her efforts would be better spent elsewhere. Lonomi - a rust red and brown, female hatchling, almost youngling. May be dead. Ordau - a greyish brown, early-year male youngling Sharanya - an overprotected female adolescent who has been possibly treated as more of an ability to the clan than as an individual dragon. Sharanya's talent is that she can sense all hatchlings and younglings in a short range area... which has frustrated little clan dragons for years now but has made many of their elders sleep a little better at night. It has almost become a game for the little dragons from time to time to see how if and how long they can keep out of Sharanya's sight. Soldar - Current leader though there are two other dragons on his heels for the position with the latest human activity going on. White and a sandy cream coloring. Has a male bound named Asapel. ---Others--- Dragon Knight Elmnysa & Knight Bound Baylit - Currently stationed in the midsection of the Eastern Forest with the increased watch for dragon hunters and egg thieves

Three Months Later (Simultaneous to Heritage: Aftermath) It had been near three months since the sunseason when dragons across the land gathered at Glenyiel to discuss that of the stolen progeny -eggs who would be born with the gift of flight- never to know the feeling of being earthbound. The sky would always be theirs so long as we could protect them.
And protect them we did as well as a number of their young unwinged brethren. Without any more details from the thief himself after bonding to Tarketh, not only did we guard the eggs with a more watchful eye, but the hatchlings as well. Even the younglings would feel someone's sight from time to time for until they found their own bounds, they too could be vulnerable to the dangers of the humans and what plans they may have. Since that clamor of dragons meeting together, they all have dispersed to their own lands they call home. The Dragon Knights have continued their watch over both the human settlements from Fallen and over dragons from thieves and hunters. While there have been few reports of late, I fear that morale has dropped amongst the Knights. During those couple days alone, near five Knight pairs died: one poisoned by Tarketh, one lost to an unidentified dragon, and a few in the following battle against the Fallen looking for vengeance against the humans. Even Lierce's bound was almost lost from what the others tell. Letting Tarketh walk did not sit well with many. Then again, many were not happy with Tarketh prior to his leaving. For the Fallen, there were whispers of betrayal. For the Knights, it was the death of the Knight-Bound Jai and his involvement in the raid following. For some of the rest, it was the lack of information he presented after all the clamor over the egg thief. Tarketh had effectively become the scapegoat of much of what happened back then, whether he deserved it or not. There was simply no one else to openly blame. We then slipped into the same circle of time that we did before. We returned to our homes. We continued to live, to bind, to dream of flying, remaining oblivious to the what the future held not just for us, but for all the land...

---0-0-0--- Clan: Dou DeyrLocation: Orange Circle Sensing movement to the side, the leader of the Dou Deyr looked over to see another dragon scrabbling across the wet moss toward his position. "Soldar! Incoming Knight!" Kubleret shouted as he reached the white and sand colored dragon. Soldar looked up in the direction the watchdragon had motioned and saw the flash of armor plating in the sky, reflecting what little sun appeared between the grey clouds that hung above. Dew-ladden branches swayed and damp dead leaves stirred as the knight pair drew closer to the camp and made their landing just offside the clan’s circle, the human disembarking from the dragon’s back before both of them walked toward the clan leader. “Hails sent from Ley Suan, Soldar,” the dragon greeted with the nod of his head. “My name is Elmnysa and Baylit is my accompanying bound.” “Greetings Knights Elmnysa and Baylit. What is the word from Ley Suan?” Soldar asked, opening the channel so that his bound might share in on the information as well. “There’s been movement in the forests just southeast of Ley Suan. We suspect hunters, but they have tarried much if they are so. We’re assisting Ley Suan in guarding the area as they do not have the wings to keep a continuous watch. For the sake of Dou Deyr, we recommend an increased watch here as well. Though we do not know from which direction these humans came, the quickest route back to the human lands is in this direction.” “Thank you for your words, Knight Elmysa,” Soldar said curtiously while bowing his head. “We will let you know should anything arise. Has Genyiel been informed of the mater?” “A messenger has been sent to Genyiel to report to Master Lierce,” Elmnysa replied with a nod. “In the meantime, our numbers here should be enough to handle anything immediate.” “That is good to hear. I’ll speak with our guards right away and post a new watch. May the blessings of Narktu be with us,” Soldar said as he stood up from his seated position, seeing that the Knight seemed ready to turn and be off already. “Should anything be discovered of the humans hiding in the woods over there, please pass along word, would you?” “By the honor of the Knights,” Elmysa said, her head held high. ---0-0-0--- The Knight-pair was gone not long after they had arrived and Soldar had already given his bound orders to get the young dragons rounded up and gathered together for a count. He himself would speak with the guard to discuss the changes that needed to be made for the moment.

---0-0-0--- “And he watched as the bird fell through the sky, her wings ablaze in gold and black char as she plummeted, her cry heard by all who could understand such pain. When he arrived at the spot of ground he thought she struck, he found nothing but an open field of dry grass and petalless flowers. Not a single bird was chirping nor was there a single insect around. It was all strangely quiet as if the sound of the fallen bird was meant to be the last sound anyone would ever hear. It was not until three days later that the traveler heard the first sounds return. He had woken from his sleep only to find that the field he had come across was gone and instead he had woken to the usual forest he had been traveling in.” The older Dou Deyr dragon looked around and smiled at the few younger dragons that were still awake and listening to his story despite the gloomy autumn weather. “Now the rest I will save for another day,” the faded-blue dragon said, winking at one little dragon to the side that couldn’t seem to sit still. (RP is now open for business)

Behind the Scenes - Getting Your character involved at Opening Alright, the story is pretty much set. We're going to take this out of Genyeil for a time and actually involve the Dragon Clans some. Dou Deyr is a decent sized clan which has a mix of dragon-types present in their ranks, from Ascended to Fallen. Granted, this means there can be some pushing and shoving and raising of voices when it comes to getting things done, but when you live as close as they do to the Boundary, there is some compromise. Currently there is a bit of political upheaval going on in the clan right now. The leadership is currently in a three-way tug of war. Currently, Soldar is leading the clan while competitor Iwilthi is close at his heels should he falter. A loss of some of their own to dragon hunters a few months ago has boosted a young Fallen dragon named Hhynntar in the limelight and he is quickly gaining ground behind the two. What this means for all players is that it is easy to integrate your character in here if you wish to do so. Feel free to be a part of the clan, a passing visitor, or (if you are an older dragon) feel free to be one of the dragons on watch duty. If you want other options, there is Ley Suan who a few Knights are assisting or if you have any other ideas that might work with what is already started, go ahead and post. If you're not sure your idea will work out with what is already presented, pm me and will discuss it.
